Kingdom in the cloud will take you further to the remote valley of Bhutan, Phobjikha which is paradise for nature lover and hikers. Phobjikha valley is well known for winter home to the Black Necked Cranes (Grus Nigricollis) that migrate from Tibetan plateau. These birds can be seen from early November till the end of March. Phobjikha is also famous for beautiful walking trails in villages from where you could see closest of the Bhutanese traditional living culture. Due to great stretch of valleys in all direction, it is also known as the Switzerland of Bhutan.

Day 1 : Arrive in Paro. (ALT- 2200m)
Your first day travelling to Bhutan by Druk Air is going to be fascinating, the first glance over the Bhutanese Himalayas. Upon arrival at the Paro International airport you will be greeted by our representative and will be transferred to Thimphu, (2 hours drive) Capital city of Bhutan.
ATTRACTION & HIGHLIGHTS
• Memorial chorten:
It is the Iconic figure of Thimphu valley. The stupa was built in 1974 as a memorial for the third King, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck and it is also dedicated for World Peace. You will find mostly the elderly Bhutanese people circumambulating the Chorten throughout the day.
• Amazing Buddha statue:
The statue is 177ft tall reputed as the largest Shakyamuni Buddha Statue in the world. It is located on the ridge of mountain overlooking the capital city Thimphu. Evening you will have leisure time and overnight will stay at hotel in Thimphu.
Day 2 : Thimphu excursion. (ALT- 2320m)
HIGHLIGHTS
• Bhutan Post Museum:
Bhutan Post Museum portrays exclusively on evolution of Bhutanese Postal System from the day it launched in 1962. The museum highlights with demonstration of its communication means embarked by the first post-man known as Gup Lungi Khorlo, meaning during those days, this man had speed as equivalent to that of wind in delivering mail. A mail car that was used during that time was the Indian Jeep that you can see even today.
• Traditional arts and crafts Institute:
The legacy of our fore-fathers’ culture and tradition on thirteen types of art and craft were still practiced in Bhutan. It is the heart of our culture that is preserved and taught in this institute.
• Textile Museum:
It houses both ancient and modern textiles displaying the vibrant culture and tradition of Bhutan.
• Simply Bhutan:
Simply Bhutan offers the insight of entire culture on Bhutan. One can also enjoy tasting the locally brewed wine, Ara in a traditional atmosphere, serving with singing songs by the girls. Traditional lunch is also served to those interested to taste Bhutanese dish.
• Takin animal:
It is a unique looking animal. According to Bhutanese folklore, this incredible animal was created by the famous Buddhist master, Lam Drukpa Kuenlay affectionately known as ‘The Divine Madman’. The takin was given life when he attached a goat’s skull to the skeleton of a cow. It is also the National Animal of Bhutan
• Tashi Chodzong:
It is one of the popular landmarks in Thimphu valley. It houses secretariat building, offices of His Majesty the King, Throne Room, Central Monastic Body and offices of the ministers..
Evening you will have leisure time, you may stroll around Thimphu town and Craft bazaar to find some unique souvenirs.
Overnight stay will be at the Hotel in Thimphu.
Day 3 : Thimphu to Punakha (ALT- 1200m) (65km / 2hrs)
Morning, after breakfast you will drive to Punakha and en-route you will stop for tea at Dochu La Pass (3,100 meters). The passes are marked either by cluster of Chortens or the prayer flags.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Dochu La Pass:
It is one of the most loved passes that has360-degree view point. The pass is blessed with 108 stupas built against the back drop of stunning panoramic Himalayas in the distance.
Royal Botanical Garden: (Garden of Rhododendron flower) The Park is famous for 46-variety species of Rhododendron flowers, lake and end numbers of flora and fauna. Further driving down for about 40 minutes you will reach at Chimi Lhakhang.
• Chimi Lhakhang: (1455-1529)
The temple popularly known as Chimi Lhakhang is associated with Lam Drukpa Kuenlay or the Devine Mad-man whose esoteric method of spreading Buddhism continues to be revered even today. Amongst others, Drukpa Kuenlay is also greatly associated with the worship of Phallus made out of wood. It is believed that especially the childless couples who intend to have child can have child right after their visit. Chimi Lhakhang is a miracle Temple. It draws large number of tourists and locals every day.
Evening leisure time, you may walk around the Khuru town.
Overnight halt will be at hotel in Punakha.
Day 4 : Punakha. (ALT-1200m) (Excursion in Punakha)
HIGHLIGHTS
• Khamsum Yule Namgyal Chorten:
It is located at 20 minutes drive from Punakha. This figure is located in serine dense forest with surroundings of nature. It is a splendid example of Bhutanese architecture having drowned its details from the religious scriptures. It was built by our beloved Queen mother Ashi Tshering Yangden Wangchuck for the peace and prosperity of the world.
• Punakha Dzong:
It is one of the magnificent Dzongs (fortress) surrounded by Pho Chu (male river) and Mo chu, (female river). The Dzong replicates like a majestic ship that is being anchored at this river.
• Suspension Bridge- It is one of the longest swinging bridges (160m) ever built in the country. It is a must visit sight in Punakha valley.
Overnight will halt at hotel in Punakha
Day 5 : Punakha to Gangtey (ALT- 2800m) / (75km / 3-4hrs)
As you proceed towards Gangtey, you will come across stunning views of snowcapped mountains, yaks grazing, Golden langur, and wild pheasant passing-by roads and Rhododendron flowers over the hills. On arrival, you will start exploring the following places.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Phobjikha Valley:
It is claimed as one of the most beautiful and endless valleys in the country. It has thread-line trail walk in villages getting access to up- close of Bhutanese traditional living culture.
• Black Necked Cranes:
The valley of Phobjikha (in Gangtey) is popular for winter home to the Black Necked Cranes (Grus Nigricollis) that migrate from the Tibetan plateau. Birds can be seen from early November till end of March.
• Gangtey Monastery:
The massive structure of Gangtey monastery overlooking valley is one of the important seats of Pema Lingpa tradition. It is the only Nyingma School in western Bhutan. Overnight you will halt at Home stay in Gangtey.
Day 6 : Gangtey to Paro (ALT-2200m) / (170km / 5hrs)
After early breakfast from Gangtey, you will drive towards Paro. The following places will be visited in Paro.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Paro valley:
The vast stretch of Paro valley with winding rivers on its either side of paddy field gives the picturesque landscape. Paro is also home to the Sacred Mount Jhomolhari (7314 M).
• Paro Rinpung Dzong:
It is the landmark of Paro Valley, built at the bank of Pa Chu River and it is believed to have built on the heap of jewel. The figure is adorned with traditional wooden cantilever bridge built at its base.
• Paro National Museum:
The Museum, that once up-on a time served as watchtower, now it displays the finest Bhutanese arts and crafts, traditional costumes, armor, weaponry and apart from that it has also exhibition on Bhutan Bio-diversity.
Evening you will have leisure time to go around and overnight you will halt at hotel in Paro.
Day 7 : Paro (ALT- 2200m) / (Excursion in Paro)
HIGHLIGHTS
• Taktsang Monastery:
An adventurous hike to Taktsang is rewarding and fulfilling visit comparing the entire tours. Tiger’s Nest is Bhutan’s famous monastery and heartland of pilgrimage sight.. Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown on the back of a tigress from Singye Dzong in Lhuntse to meditate in cave where Taktsang Monastery stands now. It is perched on the edge of steep cliff and it is about 900 meters above Paro Valley. Initially one may experience challenges to hike, but you will be rewarded once you get to the real sight. However, there are riding pony services at the base if ever you are challenged to hike. You will require paying the minimal charges for the horse services.
You will have lunch served at the Taktsang cafeteria that is located at the best view point of Taktsang. After lunch, if time favors, you will have sight-seeing to the following places
• Drugyal Dzong:
Drugyal Dzong is 20 minutes’ drive from the town. It was built in 1649 to commemorate the victory of Bhutanese over the allied Tibetan- Mongolian forces. Dzong that once served as defense fortress is said to have housed the finest armory in the country.
Evening leisure time, you will stroll around Paro bazaar and go to iconic wooden bridge at Ngyamey Zampa for photography.
Overnight halt will be at the hotel in Paro.
Day 8 : Departure from Paro:
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Paro International Airport and bid farewell by our representatives.
