Day 1 : Arrival
You will be met at Johannesburg Airport and transferred to your hotel in this thriving city.
Check in and relax under warm blue South African skies in 'Egoli' - the city of gold.
Day 2 : Mpumalanga Game Reserve
Today we leave Johannesburg and travel 5-hours through the historic towns of Dullstroom and Lydenburg. After passing through the Abel Erasmus Passand J.G.Strijdom Tunnel, we arrive at our private Mpumalanga Game Reserve.
After checking into your lodge, enjoy a thrilling game drive in an open-top game viewing vehicle accompanied by a lodge ranger. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately and hopefully you will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and maybe some of the Big Five today. Afterwards dine in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide.
Day 3 : Drakensberg Panorama Route
Enjoy another early morning open top game drive in your Private Game Reserve this morning.
After breakfast we head out to explore the breathtaking Drakensberg Panorama Route - including the green Blyde River Canyon, the third largest in the world. See the Three Rondavels, enjoy wonderful views from God's Window and visit the unusual Bourkes Luck Pot Holes - cylindrical holes formed from the swirling waters of the Blyde and Treur Rivers.
In the afternoon check into your hotel in this beautiful region.
Day 4 : Kruger National Park
This morning we enter the world famous Kruger National Park, unrivalled in its diversity of flora and fauna, for a thrilling morning of game viewing in our closed vehicle.
The vast Kruger plains offer magnificent game viewing opportunities and the highest concentration of lion in the whole of Africa. Hope to see several of the Big Five today - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino. With nearly 150 different species of mammals and over 100 species of reptiles in the Kruger National Park, you can also hope to see cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, sable antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons, wild dogs and many other interesting animals. With over 500 different bird species including eagles, kingfishers, vultures and storks, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.
Travelling via Skukuza, we exit through the Malelane Gate and continue to Mthethomusha Game Reserve, arriving in time for an open top game drive in this private game reserve. Enjoy a beautiful African sunset, a balmy evening and the pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – including the spectacular Southern Cross.
Day 5 : Zululand
After an early breakfast, we travel 5-hours today through the small mountainous kingdom of Swaziland, driving through the Lebombo Mountains and Mbabane, where we will have the opportunity to interact with the friendly Swazi people.
We re-enter South Africa via the kingdom of Zululand, renowned for its wildlife and beaches and check into our hotel in St. Lucia in the late afternoon.
Note: You will need your passport today and, if you need them, visas to enter Swaziland & re-enter South Africa.
Day 6 : Isimangaliso Wetlands Park
Before breakfast enjoy an early morning game drive in Isimangaliso Wetlands Park - a World Heritage Site. Also enjoy a boat ride on the estuary, where you may see hippos and crododiles as well as pelicans, fish eagles and abundant bird life.
Afterwards we travel through the sugar cane plantations of the Indian Ocean seaboard, with late afternoon drop off at your hotel on the warm Durban North Coast, renowned for its wonderful beaches and excellent holiday weather.
Day 7 : Durban North Coast
At leisure to relax on the warm golden beaches of the Durban North Coast.
Many optional activities are available such as a marine cruise to search for dolphins, turtles, sharks, whales (in season) and other fascinating sea life. Championship golf, horse riding and deep sea game fishing are also available.
Day 8 : Departure
Transfer to Durban Airport for your flight home.
