Package Overview

Kuari pass trek is amongst the best in the Garhwal Himalayas. The trail was first charted by Lord Curzon in 1905 and ever since then it has been known as the 'Curzon Trail'. It takes you through lush green meadows, virgin forests and lay back villages. The arms length view of ranges like the Mt.Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dronagiri and Hathi-Ghodi Parvat, is the reward that awaits the trekker atop this pass. The maximum height reached during the course of trekking is 4200mts (The ridge connecting Kuari pass) and the trek is generally not very difficult. No matter how tired you get the fresh mountain breeze and the glorious scenery around will always rejuvenate you. Apart from the Pass and Auli there is another attraction of the trip is Joshimath. Joshimath is where Sri Shankaracharya is said to have attained enlightenment. At the concluding part of the trek there is an irritable chance for bathing in the hot springs of Tapovan to rejuvenate your tired nerves after an exhaustive Trek!!! This trek is the perfect getaway from the monotony of your daily life and will be an unforgettable experience.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Rishikesh

  A day long journey begins from Rishikesh and passes through many pilgrim sites like Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag. As we pass beyond Chamoli town views get better and we see high Himalayan peaks like Hathi-Ghori. Overnight stay in guest house.

• Day 2 : Auli

  Breakfast and drive 14km to Auli. Trek 6 km to Gursoan (3000m). Auli is famous for its beautiful alpine meadow and excellent views. Auli also known for its Ski station. As we pass through Auli bugyal, we enter in thick forest of Oak and Rhododendron forest. A steep climb will lead us famous Gursoan bugyal where we can see best views of Nanda Devi peak (7816m), Nanda Devi is considered prime Goddess in Garhwal Himalayas. Camping.

• Day 3 : Gursoan Bugyal

  Our day will begin with pristine sunrise behind the Nanda Devi peak. We will start our day walking on lush green Gursoan bugyal. This day is mostly gradual and covers total 12km till Khulara (3000m). Khullara is known for best camping spot with grand views of many Himalayan peaks like Dronagiri (7066m), Hathi-Ghori, Neelgiri peak (6300m) and Kamet (7757m). Stay in tents.

• Day 4 : Himalayan

  This will be a finest day for any Himalayan walker to see best views of many famous peaks of Garhwal Himalayas. We can see Kamet, Dronagiri, Changbang, Rishipahar, Neelkanth and many other peaks from Kuari pass. For those who are keen and fit it will be amazing to explore further up to Pangarchulla peak (4600m) to enjoy 360 views of Garhwal Himalayas. Return to our base at Khullara. Camping.

• Day 5 : Downhill to Dhak Village

  Our final day of trek is 12 km downhill to Dhak village, this trail pass through beautiful forest and several villages. We will also explore the hot water spring in Tapovan, which 6km from Dhak. Drive back to Joshimath. Evening free to explore the temples and Shankaracharya ashram. Stay in guest house.
• Day 6 : Rishikesh.

  Our return journey will start followed by breakfast to Rishikesh.
