Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Bishkek - Chon Kemin valley (170 km - 4 h)

    Your guide-interpreter will meet you at Manas International Airport and accompany you to Bishkek City (30 min. drive), where you will start the day with a breakfast in Dungan (Chinese Muslims) guesthouse. If you arrive too early we offer you a nice room with comfortable beds and you will be able to take a shower and to have a nap. The half day is dedicated to a guided Bishkek City Tour, including lunch. The tour includes the visiting of the central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square), National philharmonic, Oriental Bazaar, Art Gallery and many others places of interest. After transfer to Chon Kemin valley, on the way we will visit the Burana Museum, a site of a medieval city of Balasagun, the capital of the Karahanid Kaganate. Dinner and overnight is in Ashuu guesthouse.

  • Day 2 : Chon Kemin Valley - Tamga (150 Km - 4 H)

    After breakfast you will have free for a photo session to capture all the beauty of Chon Kemin Valley, large alpine valley. Here you will see Kyrgyz nomads with their yurts and sheeps as it was 1000 years ago among the Tian Shian Mountains, rapid rivers, and pine trees. Before our departure to Tamga village, we will stop not far from Chon-Kemin in order to walk 2 hours in Konorchek labyrinths, where at the end of the gorge you will watch you a magic view where of red mountains. Then we will have a picnic there. Afterwards we continue our trip to Tamga village that is situated on the southern shore of Issik Kul lake, the second largest mountain lake in the world and the biggest lake in Kyrgyzstan. There is a sanatorium in Tamga where soviet astronauts rehabilitated and trained their skills. The altitude and climate ideally fitted for them. On the way to Tamga we will visit our famous hunter with golden eagles Talgat. He will tell us about his birds. After arrival in Tamga village you will have time to swim in the lake. Accommodation will be in Askar guesthouse. (1600m).

  • Day 3 : Tamga - Barskoon Gorge - Dunguromo Pass (3570 M) - Dugurotmo Gorge (5 Hours)

    After breakfast we will go to Barskoon village, where we will visit the family which makes yurts. Here you will find out many amazing facts about these felt nomadic dwellings. Then we continue our way to Barskoon gorge, one of the most picturesque places in the mountainous Terskey Ala Too. There is one of the highest waterfalls in Kyrgyzstan (alt. 2500 m) that is 60 meters high. We will see the stone of astronauts, where is a sign of first man in the space - Urii Gagarin. From this place we start our trekking. We will have an ascent to Dunguromo pass (3100 m) passing through which we find ourselves in a picturesque valley Dunguromo. After a few kilometers down from the pass, we stop for the camping. Dinner will give us an opportunity to share with impressions of the first day. Night is in tents at the height of 2850 meters asl.

  • Day 4 : Dungurotmo Gorge - Zauka Pass (3750 M) - Chokolu Lake (7 Hours)

    Today you get up early at about 7 in the morning. We have a « vertical » hike to the Chokolu Lake over Zauka Pass. It is a historical pass, the part of the great Silk Road. Famous travelers passed this place in the ancient time: Ella Mayart 1932, Semenov Tyanshyanskii 1856, the Chinese Muslims came from China 200 years ago. The landscape is relatively flat, from vegetation prevails fine grass and moss, the climate is close to the tundra climate. Coming closer to the lake we will break our camp for the night. Night is in tents at the height of 3800 meters asl.

  • Day 5 : Chokolu Lake - Zauka Pass (3750 M) - Dzukuu Gorge - Ashu Kashka Suu Gorge

    After breakfast we prepare all our equipment and backpacks and then loading it all on the horses we will go further. We have to get back to the Zauka pass and after passing it we will come to the Dzhukuu valley. Then we go down the gorge about 20 km and reach the foot of the Ashu Kashka Suu gorge where we break camp for the night. On the way you will have meeting with Kyrgyz nomads that live here in summer time. Kyrgyz nomads are the most hospitable people in Central Asia. We will try Kyrgyz cheese there and if you want you can try Kyrgyz beer (fermented mare's milk). Dinner and overnight is in tents at the height of 2770 meters.

  • Day 6 : Ashu Kashka Suu Gorge - Ashu Tor Pass (3490 M) - Jukuchak Gorge (7 Hours)

    Early in the morning we prepare all our gear and then we hike up the gorge Ashu Kashka Suu. Reaching the foot of the pass, we will make a short stop for lunch and then we will have to climb to the Ashu Tor Pass (3490 m). After the pass we get into the Dzhukuchak gorge where the warm mineral springs are. Here we can take a bath with hot mineral water which we all dreamed of for now 4 days of our trek. After good bath our guide will offer you a local beer but not Kyrgyz beer, this time is real Kyrgyz beer. Dinner and overnight is in tents at the height of 2500 meters.

  • Day 7 : Dzhukuchak Gorge - Orto Bulak Pass (2900 M) - Kichi Kyzyl Suu Gorge

    In the morning we go in the direction of Kichi Kyzyl Suu Valley. First we get the territory of Issyk Kul forestry which is in the Dzhukuchak gorge. Further we will climb the pass Orto Bulak (2900 m). Then we come to the Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge where we pitch our camp for the night. This place is famous for its incredible beauty and stunning views of mountains. Dinner. Sharing impressions of the day. The night you will spend in tents at the height of 2300 meters above sea level.

  • Day 8 : Kichi Kyzyl Suu Gorge - Chon Kyzyl Suu Gorge - Jili Suu Water Warm Springs

    After breakfast you start your trekking in the direction of the picturesque valley - ChonKyzyl Suu. Firstly go down to the Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge through the territory of forestry. Then we will go along the Djily Suu Mountains and finally we are in Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge. Here we enter the area of Ak Tash. Then we go up about three miles to the thermal mineral springs where we will be able to take a warm bath and relax again. The area is famous for its beauty: nomads and incredible mountains make you forget about every day fuss. Overnight is in tents at the altitude of 2150 meters asl.

  • Day 9 : Chon Kyzyl Suu Gorge - Kok Dzhayyk Pass (2700 Meters) - Jeti Oguz Gorge

    The ninth day is the last day of trek. After breakfast we go in the direction of the Jeti Oguz gorge - one of the most popular places to visit in our country. First, we went down to the place of Ak Tash, where we cross the river Kyzyl Suu (Red River). Then we begin the ascent to the pass Kok Dzhayyk. The road will pass through a small pine forest, which will impress you with its silence. It seems as if the whole world looks at you there. After the forest we will look at the Jeti Oguz gorge which will impress you for sure. After a couple of kilometers we reach the yurt camp Kok Dzhayyk where we stay for the night. Dinner and overnight in yurts at the height of 2300 meters.

  • Day 10 : Jety Oguz Gorge - Karakol (30 Km - 1 H)

    After breakfast our journey will continue in the direction of small town of Issik Kul region. Check-in hotel Elita. Today we will visit Prjvalsky Memorial Complex, devoted to the famous Russian explorer of Central Asia. In order to comprehend Kyrgyz life of the 19th century we will visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the wooden mosque, made in the Chinese style. In the evening we will drive to Dyishin village, where we will have dinner with Chinese Muslims, here they are called Dungans. They came from Dunhuang, central China. Chinese Muslims came to Kyrgyzstan 200 years ago when it was a war between Chinese and not Chinese nationalities and religions. They are good agricultural masters and very famous for national cuisine. You will try different kinds of salads and dungan bread. After dinner you will come to the guest house.

  • Day 11 : Karakol - Kochkor Village (330 Km-6 H)

    Early in the morning we go to the Kochkor village, where you can explore our national traditions and customs, watch the process of making traditional Kyrgyz carpets and visit a handicraft museum. Also we will see and participate in the process of assembling a yurt, a traditional felt house of nomadic people. In the evening you will listen to the Folk-concert. On the way to Kochkor village we will drive along the north shore of Issyk Kul Lake - it means you will see the "pearl of Central Asia" form all sights, and you you will see that there are a lot of resorts and sanatoria there Dinner in a yurt and carpet-making show. Overnight is in a guesthouse.

  • Day 12 : Kochkor - Bishkek

    Transfer to Bishkek. Accommodation will be in a guesthouse. Free time for shopping and walk around the city.

  • Day 13 : Bishkek - Europe

    Your guide-interpreter will meet you at the hotel at the pick up time arranged previously according to your flight details and accompany you to Airport.
