Bhutan is a small, landlocked nation located in the eastern Himalayas between India and China. Its landscape ranges from subtropical plains and forests in the South to subalpine forests and snowy mountains in the North. Bhutan is a predominantly Buddhist country and is known as the last stronghold of Mahayana Buddhism.
Day 1 : Arrive Paro by Druk Air
The Flight Into Bhutan Takes You Over the Great Himalayas, Offering the Scintillating Scenery of the World’s Highest Glacial Peaks. as You Enter Paro Valley, You Will See the Silvery Pa Chu (paro River) Meandering Down the Valley, the Paro Dzong (fortress) and Ta Dzong (watch Tower). On Arrival, Received By Our Representative and Transfer to Thimphu (55 Km, 2 Hours), the Modern Capital Town of Bhutan. Overnight At the Hotel in Thimphu.
Day 2 : Thimphu Sightseeing
National Library; It Holds a Vast Collection of Ancient Buddhist Texts, Manuscripts, Modern Academic Books and Printing Blocks for Prayer Flags.
Painting School; Famous for Traditional Thangkha Paintings.
Traditional Medicine Institute; the Rich Herbal Medicines Abundant in Kingdom is Prepared Here. The Institute also Imparts the Art of Herbal Medicines to Would Be Practitioners.
Textile and Folk Heritage Museum; the Fascinating Testimony of the Bhutanese Material Culture and Living Traditions.
Memorial Chorten; the Beautiful Stupa Built in the Memory of Bhutan’s Third King. The Paintings and Statues Inside the Monument Provide a Deep Insight Into Buddhist Philosophy.
Trashichhodzong; the Beautiful Fortress/monastery Which Houses Secretariat Building, King’s Throne Room and other Government’s Offices. It is also the Summer Residence of Chief Abbot.
Handicrafts Emporium; It Displays Wide Assortment of Beautifully Hand-woven and Crafted Products.
Day 3 : Thimphu / Punakha
After Early Breakfast, Drive to Dochula Pass (3,050m). if the Weather Permits, You Can See a Range of High Himalayan Peaks Towards the North East. Following Peaks Can Be Seen from this Pass, On a Clear Day ; Masagang (7,158m), Tsendagang (6,960m), Terigang (7,060m ), Jejegangphugang (7,158 M ), Kangphugang (7,170 M ), Zongphugang (7, 060 M ), a Table Mountain that Dominates the Isolated Region of Lunana – Finally Gangkar Puensum, the Highest Peak in Bhutan At 7,497m.
on Arrival, Check Into the Hotel. Evening Visit Punakha Dzong, the Fortress of 17th Century and Later Visit to Khamsm Yulley Namgyal Chhorten.
Day 4 : Punakha / Phobjikha
After Breakfast Drive to Gangtey Via Wangduephodrang. Visit Majestic Wangdue Dzong and Interesting Local Market. Further Ahead Pass Through Dense Forests and Oak, Rhododendron Tress, Reaching At Gangtey (phobjikha). Evening Take a Walk Around Gangtey Village and Visit Gangtey Gompa, the Only Nyingmapa Monastery in this Region.
Day 5 : Phobjikha / Paro
After breakfast, proceed to paro via Punakha.Morning excursion to Chimi Lhakhang, situated on a hillock in the centre of the valley, is dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley, who in the late 15th century used humour, songs and outrageous behaviour to dramatise his teachings and due to this also known as ‘Divine Madman’. This temple is also known as the temple of fertility. It is widely believed that couples who do not have children and wanting one, if they pray at this temple, they are usually blessed with a child very soon. It is about 30 minute walk across field from the road to the temple. The trail leads across rice fields to the tiny settlement of Pana, meaning ‘field’. It then follows a tiny stream downhill to Yoaka and across more fields before making a short climb to Chimi Lhakhang. Afteroon drive to Paro. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 6 : Paro sightseeing
After Breakfast, Take An Excursion to Taktsang Monastery, the Most Famous of Bhutanese Monasteries. It is Said that Guru Rinpoche Arrived Here On the Back of a Tigress and Meditated At this Monastery Hence It is Called “tiger’s Nest”. the Excursion to Monastery’s View Point Takes About 5 Hours for Round Trip. While Return to Paro Town Visit Enroute Kichu Lhakhang, One of the Oldest and Most Sacred Shrines of the Kingdom.
Day 7 : Paro Depart
After breakfast drive to the airport for flight to onward destination.
