Little wonder, Ladakh turned into a landscape of barren, jagged peaks with picturesque gompas (Buddhist monasteries) perched precariously atop them. The prayer flags in primary colours fluttering alongside only make the all white dome-shaped stupas stand out in contrast. When the prayer wheel is rotated clockwise, it churns out chants that mingle with the passing wind and produce a melody that is as calming as it is haunting. Home to the monks robed in red, the insides of the gompas are a cheery departure from the stark, ochre and grey landscape in which it lies. Done up in a riot of colours with intricate murals and bright, golden-hued Buddhas, Ladakh is a piece of Tibet forgotten in time.

• Day 1 : Arrival & Local sightseeing

• Day 2 : Srinagar to Kargil

  After breakfast proceed towards Kargil enroute Sonmarg,Zojilla Pass and Kargil war memorial at Drass. After a breath taking journey from Srinagar you come across Sindh meanders that are abounded with trout & Mahseer. Onwards the valley opens up to a meadow. Ponies can be hired for a trip up to Thajiwas glacier - a major attraction during the summer months. Sonmarg's importance lies in the fact that it is the last halt on the Kashmir side for the drive from Srinagar to Leh. Kargil War Memorial, is a glorious museum constructed by the Indian Army. It is worth a visit for every citizen. You can see the memorabilia, eminent defense personalities with biographies, images and weapons used during the Kargil and other key strategic battles fought in Ladakh Dinner & Overnight stay at hotel in hotel at Kargil.

• Day 3 : Kargil to Leh

  Enroute Fotula top [13478 ft] and Namik La [12139 ft],visit Moonland , Lamayuru Monastery, Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Confluence of Zanskar and Indus river. Just before reaching Leh[11562 ft] visit Ladakh Hall of fame. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight

• Day 5 : Leh to Nubra Valley

  Early morning proceed to Nubra Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mts) Khardungla pass. Arrive Nubra and proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. You can enjoy the camel ride (On Own). Later if time permits visit Hunder and Diskit monasteries and check in at Deluxe Camp. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the camp. KHARDUNGLA PASS: The road journey to Nubra valley leads through Khardung La pass (The highest Motorable road in the world) [17582ft]. around 39 Kms. Away from Leh. There are two checkpoints on the both sides of the pass. Khardong is the first village of Nubra valley at higher altitude than Deskit and other villages. DESKIT VILLAGE: Deskit is the main village of headquarter of Nubra valley, which has a small market consisting of a row of shops and about 500 years old Gompa on the hilltop. Spectacular view of the valley can be seen form the monastery. DESKIT GOMPA: Deskit Gompa was founded by Lama Sherab Zangpo of Stod in about 1420 AD during the reign of King Dragspa. About 100 monks are residing in the Gompa, which is a branch of Thikse Monastery. The monastic festival called Gustor takes place on 20th and 21st days of the 12th month of Tibetan calendar. HUNDAR VILLAGE: Hundar is a beautiful village to stay with lot of trees and you will really enjoy your stay at Hundar. It has a small monastery and ruined fort above the village. The walk or Camel Safari (Double Hump bacterian camels) from Hundar to Deskit, through sand dunes for two hours is wonderful (on own).

• Day 6 : Turtuk Day Trip

  Early morning drive Turtuk[9850 ft] this village is about 83 km from Hunder (Nubra valley) and can take about 3 hours to reach here, the total population of Turtuk is just 4000 and follow Islam .About 40 years back this village was under Pakistan and speak Baltistan language, explore this beautiful village and explore the life here,we will go for a walk around the village and also meet the people, come back to Hunder village.Dinner and Overnight stay at camp @ Hunder(Nubra).

• Day 7 : Nubra to Pangong

  Today, we get up early morning visit to Diskit monastery and have wonderful view of Nubra valley. Start your drive towards Pangong Lake[13862 ft]. Enjoy the turquoise color panoramic lake and the magnificent mountains and landscapes which will leave you awestruck . Spent your afternoon enjoy the beauty of Pangong lake and at night its the best spot for star gazing. Overnight stay at Camp near the Lake.

• Day 8 : Pangong to Leh

  After breakfast drive back to Leh taking the same route. On the way back visit Shey Palace,Thiksey Monastery and Sindhu Ghaat and 3 idiots point(Ranchu school). Arrive Leh and relax at the hotel or free for individual activities.
