Day 1 : Arrive at Lhasa
Upon arrival at Lhasa Airport or train station you will be met by our guide and transferred to hotel at center of the old city. You can walk around Barkhor street in the evening time with pilgrims.

Day 2 : Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street
In the morning, go to visit the Potala Palace which is built in 7th century and explore the grandest of this myriad chapels, you will experience its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens (stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, combinations of mandala, etc. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during king Songtsen Gonpo’s reign by princess Wencheng and its famous Barkor Kora, where you can buy or appreciate traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thangkas, and tradition Tibetan clothes etc.

Day 3 : Visit Drepung and Sera Monasteries
After breakfast, go to visit Drepung Monastery, which is situated at the foothill of a mountain and was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was once the home of 10000 monks and Ganden Podrang in Drepung is famous for it was the administrative center during fifth Dalai Lama and later moved to Potala palace. After having lunch, continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa’s disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is its Buddhist monk’s debating held in the courtyard.

Day 4 : Set out for Shigatse 350km
En-route, we will see Karola glacier, visit marvelous Gyangtse Stupa & Peckor Choede Monastery. Then we will drive more 90km to Shigatse. You can visit Tibetan market in the evening time. In Shgatse, your guide will need half an hour to process Aliens’ Travel Permit (ATP) in Shigatse.

Day 5 : Drive to Rongphu Monastery 360km
We will drive for about 5-6 hours to Rongpu Monastery, crossing rapid rivers and high mountain passes with altitudes over 5000 meters, and catch a glimpse of 4 majestic mountains with peaks that reach over 8000 meters (Mt. Lhotse 8516m, Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt. Qowo O-yag 8201m, and Mt. Makalu 8463m).

Day 6 : 1-2hrs Hiking (Drive in Public Bus) to Everest Base Camp and Drive to Shigatse 360km
The day starts early in the morning, so we can enjoy the sunrise over the top of Mt. Everest. Then, we prepare for a 1-2 hour trek to the base camp. Everest Base Camp is really a spectacular place, so be ready to embrace all it has to offer. We will then set out for Shigatse, but not before having lunch at Rongphu.

Day 7 : Drive to Namtso Lake Via Shugula - Pass 380km
Attractions: Namtso Lake, Mt. Nyechen Thangla, Lagen Pass(5190m), view of Thangula Range, nomadic camps
Today we face another long day (8 hours on the road) as we set out for the breathtaking Namtso Lake via Damshong and the Lagen Pass (5190m). Namtso Lake is one of the three holiest lakes in Tibet and a popular pilgrimage destination. Pilgrims circumambulate the lake during auspicious times; a journey which takes almost a month as Namtso Lake is 70km long and 30km wide. Namtso is the highest salt lake on earth and the second largest salt lake in China (the largest being Qinghai Lake in Qinghai Province).
On the way to Namtso we cross an area of vast pastures known as the Changthang (Northern Plain); home to the plateau nomads of northwestern Tibet. If you are visiting during the summer months, you will see black thens and nomad families out on the grasslands as we drive.

Day 8 : Drive back to Lhasa 270km
Today we will drive back to Lhasa, en route you will visit a nomad family to experience the yak wool tent from the inside and you will get chance to know little more about plateau nomad’s lifestyle.

Day 9 : Transfer to Airport or Train Station
Your local guide and driver will transfer you to the airport or train station to connect to your next destination.
