Lhasa & Namtso Lake and Sedang Tour in Tibet with Access Nepal is the jumbo tour package that covers several touristic highlights of Tibet. Our tour begins at Lhasa with the cultural sightseeing tour of Tibetan Capital. During the cultural tour of Lhasa, we explore Samye Monastery in Tsedang and head to off on the Friendship Highway to explore cities like Gyantse and Shigatse. Then we enter Lhasa and explore, the majestic Potala Palace, we visit the major Gelugpa sect monasteries in Lhasa that include Deprung and Sera and we stroll around Barkhor Square and walk to Jhokhang Temple.

After the sightseeing tour of Lhasa our cultural tour in Tibet heads towards Namtso Lake via elevated Yangpachen Pass 5630m. Situated at the elevation of 4718m, Namtso Lake is the largest fresh water lake in Tibet. Mt. Nyechen Tangla at its backdrop enhances the beauty to this large turquoise lake. Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival to Lhasa Gonggar Airport; Transfer to Tsedang

  On your arrival at Gongar Airport, we will cordially recieve you at the airport. From the airport, the private vehicle will escort you to the to the hotel in Tsedang. During the drive towards Tsedang we see a beautiful temple on the north of the highway and at its rear towards east we get to see a beautifully carved statue of Buddha. The cultural sightseeing tour of Buddha kicks off right away. We arrive to Tsedang and get transferred into our hotel. In the evening we set off to explore Thandruk Monastery, the oldest monastery in Tibet that lies right at the center of Tsedang. Overnight in the hotel at Tsedang.
• Day 2 : Sightseeing Tour of Tsedang

  Today we will explore the wonderful sites of Tsedang. Let us begin with Yambulakhang Palace (the first Palace in Tibet) where some massive Tombs of Tibetan Kings are engraved. Nine tombs are visible at the present and some of the tombs date back to 8th century. After the exploration of Tsedang we head towards Samye valley. On the way to Samye Valley, our sightseeing tour of Tibet halts at Mindoling Valley for the exploration of Mindoling Monastery, which lies on the east of Dranang River county. One of the largest monastery of Nyingmapa sect was built in 10th century and renamed in 1667. The day's sightseeing tour then takes us to Samye Monastery. Unique architectural showpiece of Tibet, Samye is the first monastery in Tibet, built by King Trisong Detsen. End od sightseeing tour in Tsedang. Overnight in a guest house at Samye.
• Day 3 : Drive to Gyantse 3950m

  As we leave Samye, our drive goes in through the long tunnel under the mountain that joins Smye and Lhasa Valley. Emerging out to the Friendship Highway, we drive up to Khamba La Pass to savor the magnificent views of the turquoise lake Yamdrok Tse. Eventually arriving at Gyantse we check in to our hotel in the city and set off to explore it. The city on the ancient trading route, that linked Tibet and Sikkim, Gyantse is a fast growing town in Tibet. The drive today is relatively shorter. On our arrival at Gyantse, we set off to explore the city and the neighborhood. Gyantse Dzong on a hilltop, that overlooks the city is the historic monument in Gyantse. We also explore Khumbum Stupa and Phalkor Monastery in Gyantse. Overnight in Gyantse.
• Day 4 : Drive to Shigatse 3900m

  Shigatse is just 90km from Gyantse, an hour drive from Gyantse will take us there. En route, to Shigatse we will explore Shalu Monastery which is 8 km deviation from the Friendship Highway. Tenth century monastery is the exemplary blend of Tibetan and Nepali architecture. On arriving Shigatse we check into our hotel.Shigaste, prides on Talshilunpo Monastery (a 14th century monastery) and the seat of Panchen Lama until his death in 1989 with its huge Thangka wall which is clearly visible from the north side of the road. Explore the highlights of Shigatse and drive back to your hotel for the overnight stay.
• Day 5 : Drive to Lhasa 3650 M 349km

  Lhasa and Namtso Lake and Tsedang Tour is so far most interesting today. We cross past 5000m plus passes, Karo La (5010m/16432ft) and Kamba La (4794m/15724ft). From Kamba La Pass the view of turquoise lake, Yam Drok Tse is stunningly beautiful. Savor the views of the lake. Throughout the drive today, we get to see diverse landscapes. Sometimes barren Tibetan Landscapes greet us at other times the scenic views of the Himalayas are so wonderful. After seven hours of drive we cross the bridge over Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahamaputra) River and have the first glimpse of Potala Palace just before entering Lhasa. Then you have a free time to spend few hours on your. Walk around Barkhor Square, revisit the Potala Palace Region in the evening or hunt souvenirs- the choice is yours. At the end of the day, your Lhasa Namtso Lake and Tsedang Tour enters Lhasa.Overnight in Lhasa.
• Day 6 : Sightseeing Tour of Lhasa

  Today we begin to the cultural sightseeing tour of Lhasa. Early morning we drive to the west of Lhasa, where we explore the largest monastery in Tibet, The Deprung Monastery. Considered the most important Gelugpa Monastery, the Deprung Monastery lies in the foothills of Mt. Gambo Utse 3 miles away from the city. Deprung Monastery is famous for the Shoton festival that unveils the huge thanka of Buddha. Then we explore Ganden Monastery. One of the oldest and the largest monasteries in Tibet that sits atop the six Gelugpa temples of Tibet, Ganden monastery is 47 km far from the city.The final destination for day's cultural sightseeing tour in Lhasa after the lunch is Sera Monastery. The monastery represents the yellow hat sect of Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhism. Lying on the foothill of Tatipu Hill, the monastery has scriptures written in gold powder, extraordinary statues, and unparalleled murals that represent the sacred Gelugpa Buddhism. You can participate in the religious debate at Sera, which happen every weekdays between 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. We make sure your visit Sera Monastery on the weekdays. The day's sightseeing tour of Lhasa ends and you drive back to hotel in the city.
• Day 7 : Sightseeing Tour of Lhasa

  The sightseeing tour of Lhasa continues. Today we visit Jhokhang Temple and Potala Palace. To visit the Jokhang Temple, we walk through the busy streets of Barkhor Square. We follow the street especially designed for the visitors, where we can see lots of traditional artworks all the way to Jhokhang. UNESCO enlisted World Heritage Site under Potala Palace, Jhokhang Temple is at the center of the town. Four- storey wooden monument with the golden top, Jhokhang Temple's architectural designs represent the ones of Tang Dynasty. We will thoroughly explore this ultimate pilgrimage destination in Tibet. Then, we set off to explore the most important site in Lhasa, the majestic Potala Palace. Set atop the Red Hill at the elevation of 3765m, the Potala Palace has the religious as well as historic significance in Tibet. After the sightseeing tour of Jhokhang Temple and Potala Palace we return to our hotel.
• Day 8 : Drive to Namtso Lake 4-5 Hrs Drive

  Today we begin the journey quite early. We hit the highway towards Namtso Lake.Though the road journey is short but full of surprises in couple of hours or more we arrive at the top Yangpachen Pass 5630m, from where we could see the wonderful vistas. The face-to-face view of the mountains and the deep valleys and beautiful lakes spreading in the valley floor surrounded by lush vegetation is great view. From the pass, we drive down to Namtso Lake, which is probably one of the most beautiful corners in Tibet. A lake with the area of almost 2000 sq. km has its own small islands. Exploring around the settlements st the lake shores is an amzing encounter with Tibetan nomads and their nomadic lifestyle. Plus, the Mt. Nyechen Tangla adds the beauty to the lake simply back standing at its backdrop. Explore around and overnight in a lodge at Namtso Lake.
• Day 9 : Explore Tashidor Monastery in Namtso Lake and drive back to Lhasa

  Today, we will explore the monastery that lies in the lake shore- Tashidor Monastery. Explore the monastic culture in the middle of tranquil nowhere and begin the journey to explore more of Tibet. Today our cultural tour of Lhasa and Namtso Lake heads towards Lhasa. In the evening, we will explore around the Barkhor Square on our own.
• Day 10 : Depart Lhasa
