Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival

You will be met at Hoedspruit Airport and transferred 1.5-hours to Makalali Game Reserve.

After checking in, enjoy a thrilling game drive in an open-top vehicle accompanied by a lodge ranger. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately in this vast wildlife wilderness. Hopefully you will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe today - as well as several of the Big Five - before dining under the stars in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide!
Day 2 : Day at Leisure

Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day, as you enjoy a thrilling open-top game viewing drive with your lodge ranger. Enjoy magnificent game viewing, including some of the Big Five - Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino - before returning to your lodge for breakfast.

The rest of the morning is free to relax at your lodge or enjoy an optional spa treatment. Later set out again on a wilderness walk or another game drive. You can hope to see cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, sable antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting wild animals. With over 500 different bird species including eagles, kingfishers, vultures and storks, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed!

After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy dining under the stars. One night there is the option of a bush bath or a star-bed sleep out on a beautiful deck overlooking the river, with wild animals all around. You are left with a mouth-watering picnic hamper, drinks box and radio (with washbasin & toilet) and you will be collected in the morning.

Day 6 : Panorama Route

After a final early morning game drive at your safari lodge, transfer 2-hours to the scenic Panorama Route.

On arrival check into your hotel and relax in this beautiful region.
Day 7 : Panorama Route

Today transfer 1-hour from the Panorama Route to the Mozambique border. After completing border formalities continue 2-hours to the capital city of Maputo.

From the harbour you will be transferred 1.5-hours by speedboat across expansive Maputo Bay to the pristine Santa Maria Peninsula. Boat departures depend on the tide, but there is a small restaurant at the marina if you need to wait a while.

Expect to take off your shoes for an exciting wet landing on the white sandy beach, as you start to relax and unwind at your secluded beach lodge, tucked away amongst the forest dunes overlooking Inhaca Island and the ocean.
Day 8 : Santa Maria Peninsula

This morning transfer 1.5-hours by speedboat back to Maputo harbour.

Here you will be met and transferred to your hotel in this bustling capital city, with its warm subtropical climate and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Day 11 : Departure

Transfer to Maputo Airport for your flight home.
