Day 1 : Arrive Turin
Arrive into Turin, the capital of Piedmont Region. Turin, the first capital of Italy in 1861, is an ancient charming city, founded by Romans, with wide streets, town squares and churches. Upon arrival make your way to your city centre hotel and check in. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city. Taste an authentic Italian pizza at a typical Italian pizzeria. Day 2 : Turin
This morning you embark on a guided walking tour of Turin. Discover the Roman Doors and the splendid Baroque Palaces. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch at the historical Café Ristorante Platti, famous for its great cuisine and atmosphere. The afternoon is free for you to explore the city on your own, shop at the world class stores, taste the famed ice cream of the Piedmont, visit the museums or simply relax. Dine at an Indian restaurant. After dinner, enjoy a drink at one of the many cafés at the Roman Quarter area, the heart of the nightlife. Overnight in Turin.
Day 3 : Turin - Alba
Set off on a full day excursion by train to Alba, heart of the wine region, the land of the "white truffle" with its famous medieval city centre. Alba is also home to the confectionery group Ferrero famed worldwide for its chocolates.Stop at Truffle & Co. shop to taste some most delectable Langhe specialities. Return to Turin in the evening. Overnight in Turin.
Day 4 : Turin - Lake Maggiore
Head off on a full day excursion by train to Lake Maggiore, the second largest lake in all Italy, one of Italy's best kept secrets. Visit the picturesque Borromean Islands, a group of three small islands and two islets in the Italian part of Lake Maggiore, located in the western arm of the lake, between Verbania to the north and Stresa to the south. Take a boat trip to Isola Bella and Isola Madre to admire the beautiful gardens and palaces. Overnight in Turin.
Day 5 : Turin - Aosta
The day is earmarked for a full day excursion by train to Aosta, a small, precious art city, cradle of Roman and Medieval vestiges and Courmayeur, where the dominant vision is always tied to the impressive Mont Blanc. Enjoy an unforgettable excursion on the cableway from Courmayeur, located at the foothills of the Mont Blac. Enjoy the picturesque mountain scenery and soak in the refreshing mountain air. On your way back, stop in Ivrea, best known as the city of the Battle of the Oranges. As per local tradition, during the Carnival days: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday preceding the period of Lent, thousands of townspeople, divided into nine combat teams, throw oranges at each other with considerable enthusiasm. Overnight in Turin.
Day 6 : Turin - Genova
Take off on a full day excursion by train to Genova, the Ligurian port city made famous by Columbus. Genoa's Old Town area is said to be the largest medieval quarter in Europe and boasts a series of narrow alleyways, ancient churches, Renaissance-style palaces and museums. Walk around the Piazza de Ferrari, which is a large public square, bordered by many leading sights including the 14th century Palace of the Doges. Overnight in Turin.
Day 7 : Depart Turin
Your holiday in the Piedmont Region comes to an end. You have many options should you wish to extend your Italian holiday. Cinque Terre in Liguria is a short 3 hour train ride, Florence in Tuscany and Venice in Veneto are 5
hour train rides while Rome is a 7 hour train ride away.
