If you are looking for the full experience of Machu Picchu in a shorter amount of time and a more leisurely fashion than hikers this 2 day tour is perfect for you. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a round trip and incredibly scenic and comfortable ride from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Caliente (Machu Picchu town). This train ride is one of the most beautiful in the world, wrapping around through the Andean Mountains through to the high jungle.

You will have ample time to explore the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu as you get to visit twice! The first day in the afternoon with an extensive guided tour, visiting and learning of each of the most significant sites. Then the next morning you will have the chance to witness the sunrise over the sacred city, as well as climb the famous Huayna Picchu (subject to availability) which holds incredible ruins and picture perfect views over Machu Picchu.

Also included in this tour is lodging at comfortable hotel and dinner at the best restaurant in town

You will be given a thorough briefing by your guide 1-2 days before your tour starts. Your guide will meet you at your hotel to talk you through the tour itinerary, and you can take this opportunity to ask questions and make any final preparations.Breakfast on day 1 and lunch on day 2

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu

  Our journey begins early, you will be picked up in private transport at 7 AM from your hotel in Cusco and make your way down the gorgeous mountains into the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  
  You will arrive in Ollantaytambo and here, you will board the train at approximately 9 AM. Along your comfortable one and a half ride you will see the Urubamba River, a number of views of the surrounding snow capped mountains, and the lush flora and fauna of the high jungle.
  
  You will then reach Aguas Caliente (Machu Picchu town) and board a bus, winding up through the cloud forest to the ancient stone city of Machu Picchu.
  
  Once at Machu Picchu you will enjoy a 2 hour guided tour with our expert guide, learning the history and culture of the Incas and the deep significance that different sites hold. You will also learn of the incredible ingenuity of the Incas and how these meticulous stone structures were built hundreds of years ago.
  
  After the tour, you will have time to explore, revisiting any sites or finding new ones. Then you will return back to charming Aguas Calientes, with time to walk around and shop at the artisan markets or visit the hot springs.
  
  In the evening we will all share a delicious dinner at a finest restaurant in town and then have a good night’s rest for day two of exploring Machu Picchu.
• Day 2 : Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Huayna Picchu - Cusco

  After enjoying breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 5 AM. You will then take the bus back up to mountain, this time with the once in a lifetime
  
  opportunity to see the sun rise over Machu Picchu. This is the perfect photo opportunity.
  
  Then you will have the chance to hike Huanya Picchu (subject to availability), also known as the Young Mountain. Huayna Picchu is a hike up Inca carved stairs and paths leading you to incredible ruins and famous views of Machu Picchu.
  
  Once we have finished our 2 hours exploration of Huayna Picchu, you will take a bus back down to Agua Calientes, where you will take train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival to the beautiful Ollantaytambo or Poroy you will be picked up by a representative and be taken back to your hotel in Cusco.
