Day 1 : ARRIVAL PARO
Your experience commences the moment your flight land in Paro International Airport, the only International Airport in Bhutan. Once you have clear the custom and immigration procedure, you will be warmly received by an English speaking Bhutanese tour guide. We will start your journey visiting Paro Dzong. The monument was built in 1646 AD. It is a large Drukpa Kagyu Bhuddist Monastery and house the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro. Overnight Stay
Day 2 : PARO - PUNAKHA
After Lunch, proceed to Phunakha, the old Capital of Bhutan. Punakha is 4 hours and 30 minutes away from Paro which the drive will pass by Thimphu the Mordern Capital of Bhutan and Dochu La Pass (Alt. 3050m) where you can enjoy the first view of the eastern Himalayan Mountains. Upon arrival, we will visit the Punakha Dzong which lies between two rivers known as Phochu and Mochu, symbolizing the masculine and the feminine co-existing, their currents are of different colours and two rivers unit at this spot Overnight Stay
Day 3 : PUNAKHA - TRONGSA
This morning, drive down to Trongsa which is situated in Central Bhutan, 6 hours and 30 minutes away from Punakha. We will drive over the Black mountains and Pele La Pass (Alt. 3300m). Tour highlight will be the Trongsa Dzong founded in 1543, a master piece of architecture. Overnight Stay
Day 4 : TRONGSA – BUMTHANG
Proceed to Bumthang which is 2 hours away from Trongsa. Located just to the east of the centre of Bhutan, Bumthang is the general name given to a complex of four valleys - Chumey, Choekhor, Tang and Ura - with altitudes varying from 2,600 to 4,000 metres. The beauty of the area is renowned with rich and fertile high lands covered mostly in pine are known for their buckwheat and apple production, sturdy stone houses, and plethora of monasteries. It is the ideal place for walking due to the broad U-shaped valleys and sloping mountains. Being one of the coldest parts of the country, snow is a frequent sight in winter. Overnight Stay
Day 5 : BUMTHANG
Today’s exploration of the Bumthang Valley, this valleys are general name for the four valleys of Ura, Chumey, Tang and Chokhor and is considered to be one of the most beautiful and sacred valleys of Bhutan. The valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in the kingdom. If the weather is clear, you will enjoy the view of green valley, dotted with hundreds temples, thousand flags and beautiful Chamkhar river flow through the valley. The valley is also called mini Switzerland of Bhutan. Your visit in Bumthang includes Jakar Dzong, the administrative center of the valley; Jambay Lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in the Bhutan, dating from the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan; and Kujey Lhakhang, one of the most sacred places, where Guru Rinpoche left his body imprint on the cave when he was meditating. Day 6 : BUMTHANG – PHOBJIKHA VALLEY
After breakfast, we will continued our journey to Phobjikha Valley, am important cultural, historical ad natural site. It is 6 hours driving distant from Bumthang. The first stop will be at Gantey Gompa, a monastery perched atop a small hill that arises from the floor of Phobjikha Valley. It is also the home of migratory black-necked crane (from November till March) and one of the most beautiful spot in Bhutan. Overnight Stay
Day 7 : PHOBJIKHA VALLEY - THIMPHU
TODAY WE WILL HEAD TO THE MODERN CAPITAL OF BHUTAN, THIMPHU, WHICH IS 6 HOURS AWAY FROM PHOBJIKHA VALLEY. ENTERING THIMPHU, VISIT TRASHICHO DZONG WHICH STANDS ON LEFT SIDE OF THIMPHU. THIS DZONG IS THE HOME OF THE MAIN SECRETARIAT OF THE GOVERNMENT, OFFICES OF THE KING, MINISTRIES OF HOME AFFAIRS AND FINANCE AND ALSO THE THRONE OF HIS MAJESTY, THE KING OF BHUTAN. IT IS AN IMPRESSIVE LARGE STRUCTURE, SURROUNDED BY WELL-KEPT LAWNS AND BEAUTIFUL GARDENS. OVERNIGHT STAY
Day 8 : THIMPHU - PARO
Today sightseeing starts with the National Memorial Chorten, Traditional Medicine Institute, National Library, Textile and Folk Heritage Museum and School of 13 Arts & Crafts. Trashicho Dzong stands on left side of Thimphu. This Dzong is the home of the main secretariat of the government, offices of the King, ministries of Home Affairs and Finance and also the throne of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan. It is an impressive large structure, surrounded by well-kept lawns and beautiful gardens. After Lunch, Continued sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit the Takin mini zoo, Zilukha Nunnery, General Post Office and traditional paper factory. Proceed back to Paro which is 1 hours and 30 minutes away from Thimphu.
Have a stroll in Paro town. Along the main street, there is a complex of traditional architecture with richly decorated buildings housing small shops, institutions and restaurants. Evening programme will be visiting the local farm house where you can experience the making of the famous local dish “ema datshi” (Chilli & Cheese) and have a taste of their local rice wine “Ara”. Overnight Stay
Day 9 : PARO – HAA VALLEY - PARO
After breakfast, depart for a day tour to Haa Valley. It is a 2 hours drive via Chele La pass (Alt. 3810m) where you will get a good view of the highest mountains of Bhutan and the Himalayan peaks. Proceed on will driving through the deep pine forest and into narrow valley of Haa. Haa Valley is made up of five counties and was closed to outside world until 2002. Haa Dzong is current occupied by military and strictly no visitation but the view is stunning. After picnic lunch, visit the famous monastery of Lhakhang Karpo (White temple) and Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple). Overnight Stay
Day 10 : PARO
Today, visit the Taktsang Monastery also known as Tiger Nest Monastery. It is perched precariously on a side of a cliff. Guru Padmasambhava, known as the Second Buddha, arrived on a flying tigress and meditated at this shrine in the second half of the 8th century. As a result, it is the dream destination for Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world. Overnight Stay
Day 11 : DEPARTURE BACK HOME
