Day 1 : Arrive in Delhi – Transfer to Hotel
On arrival in Delhi, our Executive will welcome you at the airport and introduce our Driver to you. Then you will be transferred to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2 : Delhi – Drive to Chandigarh (5 Hrs Drive)
After breakfast drive to Chandigarh, on arrival check in at your hotel and relax for a while. Chandigarh is one of the best planned cities in India. In the afternoon you can visit Leisure Valley- it is like a garland of gardens that revamps the entire city. Then visit to Rock Garden – it consists of art objects, created from industrial and urban waste, Rose Garden - Asia's largest Rose Garden and is extended over 30 acres of land having more than 1600 different species or roses. Later visit to Sukhna Lake – it is a manmade lake and then to Terraced Flower Garden – it is located in Sector 33. The main attraction of terraced flower garden is its illuminated musical fountain where popular folk as well as film songs are played. Overnight stay in Chandigarh.
Day 3 : Chandigarh- Kalka Railway Station- Toy Train – Shimla
After breakfast visit to Chandi Mandir- 15 Km away from the city – on the way to Kalka. This temple is dedicated to Chandi- the goddess of Power. The city of Chandigarh was named after this Deity Chandi. Then you will be transferred to Kalka Railway station to board your toy train to Shimla.
Shimla toy train is like traveling back in time. It is one of the most scenic train journeys in India. It runs for 96 Km through 20 railway stations and lots of tunnels and bridges, you will be witnessing the world’s best scenic on your way from Borog to Shimla. On arrival at the Shimla railway station, our Driver will meet you and you will be transferred to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Shimla.
Day 4 : Shimla
Shimla was a favorite hill station for the British rulers in India. Shimla offers a variety of shopping, sports and entertainment activities.Shimla is best covered by foot; most of the sightseeing is done by walking from Viceroy Lodge and ends at Scandal point which is on the Ridge. Vehicle is not allowed to Mall, Ridge which comes under the major sightseeing part. For Aged people it might be a little difficult task.. Shimla can even be the synonym for beauty, its lovely hills, memorials, buildings of 19th century and enchanting promenades have a magnetic appeal and tempt us to visit often. Depending on the availability of time, you can visit the below said places.
Today morning visit to Kufri. Then visit to Jakhoo hill –a famous view point/peak in Shimla. The summit is crowned with a Hanuman temple. The hill is full of paths and narrow roads which are enjoyable walks.
Visit to Christ Church is the second oldest church of North India. The church overlooks the ridge and is one of the prominent land marks in Shimla.
Visit to Indian Institute of Advanced Study. It was originally constructed as an abode for the then Viceroy of India and was popularly called as Viceregal lodge. Observatory hill was occupied by it. You can have a bird’s eye view of the whole surroundings from this peak and it can truly make your vacation a memorable one (it is closed on Sundays & on Govt. Holidays).
The Mall runs the length of the old town and is something of a communal center & famous for shopping. Scandal view point is a part of Mall road- a common place to see the daily life of Shimla and it takes you back to the days of the Raj. Then visit to Lakkar bazaar- popular for it wood crafts and souvenirs. Free to walk around the Mall road. Overnight stay in Shimla.
Day 5 : Shimla – Drive To– Manali (7-8 Hrs Drive)
After early breakfast drive to Manali, enroute visit at Kullu – the most appealing and beautiful Kullu valley spreads out its charisma and on either side of river Beas. This valley is famous for its intricately woven colorful handmade shawls and Kullu caps. It offers some spectacular views & spend some time there and then drive to Manali. On arrival check in at your hotel and relax. Rest of the day you can do things as you wish. Overnight stay at Manali.
Day 6 : Manali
Today explore the perfect day to venture the lovely peaks of Manali and is located on the banks of Beas river. Visit to Hadimba Devi temple- it has a four tiered pagoda roof and it is famous for its skillfully carved doorway. Then visit to Manu temple – dedicated to sage Manu. Visit to Vashisth- it is well known for its hot springs. The water of these Sulphur springs is very hot and is said to have healing qualities. There are oldest temple complexes nearby this hot spring. Later Visit to a Tibetan Monastery, Solang valley (famous for snowcapped mountains & skiing) and if time permits to Nehru Kund or spend your evening at the Mall Road. Overnight stay in Manali.
Day 7 : Manali – Drive to Dharamsala (7-8 Hrs Drive)
After breakfast drive to Dharamsala. On arrival check in at your hotel and relax. Later if time permits explore the surroundings. Overnight stay in Dharamsala.
Day 8 : Dharamsala
Today morning visit to McLeod Ganj - it is famous as the seat of the Tibetan Government in Exile, and home to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Besides many pleasant walks and picnic spots around, Dharamsala is also a centre of Tibetan Buddhism. Even if the Tibetan community controls the town, still it has retained the colonial lifestyle and a British way of being. Dharamsala overlooks the plains and is surrounded by dense pine trees and Deodar forests. A number of residential buildings, restaurants, antiques, monasteries, etc., are situated in Mcleodganj.
Visit to Norbulingka Institute, a serene place to witness Tibetan culture and tradition. The shaded paths, wooden bridges, small streams, small waterfalls offer a feel of paradise. The nunnery close to the institute is a place where women are taught the advanced levels of Buddhist philosophy. Then give a visit to the silver cascade Bhagsunag Falls. Visit to Dharamkot – it is a popular view point located on the crest of the Dharamkot hill and it is about 15 Km from Dharamsala. It offers panoramic view of the Kangra valley and its surroundings. One can reach Dharamkot by a simple trek from Bhagsu.
Then visit to Dal lake- this is enclosed by Deodar trees and an enthralling place to forget yourselves.
Some of the places you may visit could include - Kunal Pathri- a 3 Km level walk from the Kotwali Bazaar leads up to this rock temple, Kangra Art Museum- A treasure trove of the Kangra artifacts that date back to the 5th century. Overnight stay in Dharamsala.
Day 9 : Dharamsala – Drive to Amritsar (5-6 Hrs Drive)
After breakfast drive to Amritsar. On arrival check in at your hotel and relax for a while. Amritsar means “Pool of the nectar of Immortality”. It is the capital of Punjab.
In the late afternoon, you can visit the Wagah Border (the boundary between India & Pakistan) which is located about 50 kms from Amritsar. This is the only border crossing between India and Pakistan. Every evening at Sunset, the parade takes place between the soldiers of India and Pakistan. It is a great moment to see the soldiers of both the countries in high dedication and respect for each other. Later come back to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Amritsar
Day 10 : Amritsar
Today morning proceed for the sightseeing of Amritsar. Golden Temple is one of the holiest shrines and most significant places of worship for Sikhs. It is also one of the oldest Gurudwaras in India.
The temple architecture is the blend of Hindu and Muslim style. Visit to Jallianwala Bagh - The park is situated close to the Golden Temple. It remembers 2000 Indians who were killed or wounded by the British Soldiers during a meeting. Then visit to Durgiana temple – it is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Durga. It is easily accessible from the Golden Temple. The temple lies in the middle of a medium sized lake giving it a wonderful overall view. It is built on the style of the nearby Golden Temple. Visit to Mata Lal Devi Mandir – here you can see the representation of all the major Hindu gods & goddesses. This is supposed to be a replica of Vaishno Devi of Jammu. Overnight stay in Amritsar.
Day 11 : Amritsar –– FLY or Train – Delhi
Today you will be transferred to Airport to catch your flight to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel and relax.
Note: Depending on the availability of time, you can spend your time either in Amritsar or in Delhi on this day by visiting the markets.
Day 12 : Delhi
Morning do the sightseeing tour of Old Delhi. Old Delhi is a mixture of ancient monuments and modern commerce. Visit the historic Red Fort –which was built by Shah Jahan and the material used to build this fort was Red Sandstone. On the way give a visit to Jama Masjid , India’s largest mosque, also built by Shah Jahan. Raj Ghat is Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial.
In the Chandni Chowk market, you can do Cycle Rickshaw ride if you are interested.
In the afternoon, take a tour of New Delhi. Visit the Qutub Minar – it was a Tower of Victory which was built in the 12th century by Qutbuddin Aibak. Then visit to the Tomb Of Humayun – the magnificent structure in red sandstone and flawless marbles is an great exemplar for garden tomb
Day 13 : Delhi – Departure
Today you will be transferred to airport to catch your flight home.
