Mājuli or Majuli is a river island in the Brahmaputra River, Assam and in 2016 it became the first island to be made a district in India. It had an area of 880 square kilometres at the beginning of the 20th century, but having lost significantly to erosion it covers 352 square kilometres as at 2014
Day 1 : Arrival
Pick up from New Bangaigaon Railway station then transfer to Manas National Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a tiger reserve. The focus point of Manas National Park is the enchanting Manas River, named after the serpent goddess Manasa. It is the largest Himalayan tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra. It lies on the international border with Bhutan. The National Park was designated as a Tiger Reserve in 1973 which is famous for its majestic Tiger and Golden Leaf Monkey discovered only a few decades ago. It is a paradise for bird lovers, many birds which can be seen here are the Giant Hornbills, Pheasants, Jungle Fowl, Scarlet Minivet, Partridge, Florican and variety of water birds. Arrive & check-in to the hotel. Enjoy the vicinity around the resort with the amount of time. Overnight stay at Manas
Day 2 : Manas National Park
This morning we will start our day little early and will move to the Elephant boarding point for our first Jungle ride (subject to availability) to the Manas National Park on an Elephant back. The one hour Elephant safari will take us to the dense and narrow paths to increasing the chances of animal sighting. Later we will return to the hotel/resort for fresh-n-up and breakfast. After breakfast we will be ready for our half day Jeep Safari to the national park between Bansbari to Mathanguri Range. Return to hotel and rest of the day at leisure. In the later afternoon, proceed for a nature walk in and around the park. Overnight stay at Manas.
Note: Jungle Safari in Manas National Park officially opens from 01st November but May & October (Partially Open), November to April (Best season), June to September (Closed).
Day 3 : Nameri National Park
After breakfast transfer to Nameri National Park – a tiger reserve and also famous for some Bird species. On arrival at Nameri check in to Eco camp. Afternoon you can explore nearby area of Nameri Eco Camp. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Nameri.
Day 4 : Nameri National Park
This early morning, proceed to explore Nameri National Park by trekking around the outer fringe of the forest after that go for river rafting . Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Nameri.
Day 5 : Majuli
After early breakfast proceed for Majuli is the largest fresh water mid-river deltoid island in the world. Initially be driven upto Nimatighat and then cross mighty Brahmaputra River by local ferry to reach Majuli. On arrival check into hotel. Overnight stay at Majuli.
Day 6 : Majuli
After breakfast explore Majuli, the Satra collectively known as Satras - the birth place of Vaishnavite culture in Assam. Later visit Pottery village and Mask making village. The masks of Majuli have uniqueness. These are made of clay, bamboo, cloth etc. Despite the size of the masks these are quite light in weight. Masks are made on all the characters of the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Puranas. Overnight stay at MAJULI.
Day 7 : Kaziranga
Early morning again you would be crossing the mighty Brahmaputra river by ferry. After that get driven to Kaziranga. After lunch go for Jeep safari (subject to availability) in the Central Range. Back to Hotel,Evening you can visit to Orchid Park (Direct Payment by Own). Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Day 8 : Guwahati
After breakfast transfer to Guwahati - Situated on the banks of the mighty river Brahmaputra, at an altitude of 55 meters above sea level, Guwahati is the junction of three important roads, National Highways 31, 37 and 40. It is split into two parts by the river Brahmaputra and North Guwahati.
On arrival you can visit to Baisistha and Balalji Temple. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 9 : Departure
After breakfast visit to the most famous Kamakhya Temple tucked away in the serenity of the Nilachal hills in Guwahati. This Shakti temple has a cluster of different temples of Devi Kali, Bhairavi, Tara and others and is a pilgrimage destination for people across the country.After that transfer to Guwahati Airport/Railway station for your onward journey.
