Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 2 : Chandigarh/Manali (320kms)

    Morning after an early breakfast drive to Manali. Evening arrive Manali and check into the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 3 : Manali

    Morning free to explore the city as well as to set your Bikes ready for the spectacular Trans-Himalayan mountain Bike covering a total distance of 484 kms. The high altitude road beyond the Great Himalaya range, on the edge of the Tibetan plateau, connects the densely fertile Lahaul Valley to the stark barren region of Ladakh, once accessible only from Kashmir. As you traverse, contrast in the topography becomes apparent. Lahaul and later Ladakh reveal barren landscapes that assume fantastic and bizzare shapes, surrealistic colours splash off rocks ranging in hue from various shades of brown to rust, gold, pink and yellow. Here one is traversing the roof of the world where Buddhist influence on the inhabitants tries to soften the rough existence they must lead to survive. Manali is set amidst lovely forests of towering cedars, circled by snowy peaks and the unending roar of the Beas river. Manali offers unparalleled opportunities for trekking, rock climbing, angling and winter sports. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 4 : Manali/Khoksar(57kms)

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach Khoksar via Rothang pass (3980 mt), the first of the high passes links Kulu Valley and Lahaul-Spiti Valley. It is one of the most important passes on the Manali-Leh Highway. For many centuries, Rohtang had served as an important trade-route to Lahaul, Leh and Central Asia. Arrive Khoksar (3140 M) a bleak and wind swept place. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

  • Day 5 : Khoksar/Tandi (49 kms)

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach Tandi along Chandra river. Arrive Tandi and overnight stay in Tents.

  • Day 6 : Tandi/Darcha (43 kms)

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach Darcha. Enroute stop at Gondhala to see the ancient Gondhala Fort., pass by Keylong (3348 M), an oasis of green fields, through Jispa (3142 M) where you can visit a newly built monastery which was specially built for H.H. the Dalai Lama and later in the evening arrive at Darcha which is situated in a very beautiful, wide and open landscape. Overnight stay in Tents.

  • Day 7 : Darcha/Intermediary Camp I

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach the Intermediary Camp, passing through Patseo (3811 M) which has a very beautiful and big green pasture land. After Patseo the road passes through few high altitude lakes and there are many camping sites near these lakes. Arrive the Intermediary Camp and overnight stay in Tents.

  • Day 8 : Intermediary Camp I/Sarchu

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach Sarchu, the border of Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir States. After a level stretch acros large meadows such as Zingzingbar a gradual ascent up the Bhaga river leads to Baralacha Pass (4892 M). The word Baralacha means ” a pass with cross roads”. From here the snow covered peaks of the Barashigri, Chandrabhaga and Mulkila ranges are visible. Here the roads from Zanskar, Ladakh, Spiti and Lahaul meet together. Arrive Sarchu (4253 M) for dinner and overnight stay in Tents.

  • Day 9 : Sarchu/Intermediary Camp II

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach Intermediary Camp II, passing through the expansive Kyangshuthang Plains, named after the Kyang (wild ass) the donkey-like animal that can be seen here. Arrive the Intermediary Camp II near Lachung La for dinner and overnight stay in Tents.

  • Day 10 : Intermediary Camp II/Pang

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach Pang, enroute stop for a while at Lachulung La top (5065 M) the third pass is reached after crossing the Tsarap Chu river. Arrive Pang which serves as a popular lunch stop. You will find many small parachute-made restaurants served by local Ladakhi women. Dinner and overnight stay in Tents.

  • Day 11 : Pang/Taglang La (63kms)

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach Taglang La. You will cycle down from of the longest plain belt at More plains. In distant you can see flock of sheeps of the nomadic Changpas who in summmers come down to More plains for greener pasture. A gradual climb leads upto the Taglang Pass (5328 M), the 2nd highest motorable road in Ladakh after Khardungla. Cross over the pass and overnight stay in Tents by a samll stream at the base.

  • Day 12 : Taglang La/Upshi (54kms)

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach Upshi. The descent to Leh via a narrow valley along a white stream past small villages of Rumtse, Gya, Meeru is very fantastic that stands out like a small oasisi. Upshi is the first small commercial town of Leh with a small market. Arrive Upshi for dinner and overnight stay in Tents.

  • Day 13 : Upshi/Leh (60kms)

    Morning after breakfast start cycling to reach Leh, the Capital of Ladakh. From here the road follows the Indus. Enroute visit Hemis Gompa – the biggest and the richest Monastery of Ladakh, Thiksay Gompa – a beautiful Monastery perched atop a hill and the ancient palace of Shey. Arrive Leh by evening and check into Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 14 : Leh

    Fullday at rest. OPTION: Morning visit to Sankar monastery, Shanti Stupa and the impressively huge Leh Palace which was the main Palace of the ruler of Ladakh. Afternoon free at leisure. Evening Traditional Folk dances of Ladakh. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

  • Day 15 : Leh

    Morning after breakfast visit to Stok Palace and museum. The Palace which is still the Royal residence of Stok has an impressive museum displaying ancient heritage of Ladakh. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 16 : Leh – Delhi

    Morning after breakfast transfer to the airport in time to board the flight for Delhi.
