Package Overview

Mt. Manaslu expedition offers a completely unique possibility to experience a fairly “untouched” place of Nepal and fantastic splendor along the border of Nepal and China. Manaslu 8,156 meters, (also known as Kutang) is the 8th highest mountain in the world. Manaslu lies in the Kali Gandaki valley of the Nepal Himalayas. Its name, which means that “Mountain of the Spirit”, comes from the Sanskrit word “Manasa”, meaning “intellect” or “soul”. Manaslu was first climbed on May 9, 1956, by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu, members of a Japanese expedition. Having a huge range of altitudinal and climatic variations, the Manaslu expedition provides a wonderful and diverse habitat for a rich variety of flora and fauna.

The journey of Lamjung district Manaslu region’s legendary mountain Mount Manaslu is enjoyable and tough. Beginning from Gorkha Budi Gandaki Valley River, crossings the snowbound Larkya La pass (5213m). Crossing via the Budhi Gandaki River and the villages of Machha Khola, Nyak, Jagat, Namru, Lho and Sama Gaon, we reach to the base camp. Manaslu base camp is sincerely romantic due to the fact this region is filling-up with the rhododendron trees, wonderful hanging glaciers, and rugged ice falls. Manaslu region gives a spread of trekking alternatives. The famous Manaslu trekking direction of 177km skirts the Manaslu massif over the pass down to Annapurna.

Manaslu expedition is very remote and rescue in this region is very difficult. This is possible wilderness area to live leopard of snow. Yet the trek is geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating. Manaslu’s lengthy ridges and valley glaciers provide feasible approaches from all directions and culminate in a top that towers steeply above its surrounding landscape. The climbing route follows a relatively straight line to the summit, which has few technical sections. Normally, four camps are set up during Manaslu climbing.

Manaslu expedition is popular among Japanese trekkers because most of the climbers who have successfully Climbed Manaslu are Japanese. Manaslu expedition is the new challenge for the Mountaineers and Manaslu expedition can be taken as a training expedition for the Mt. Everest expedition. Manaslu has not previously extensively been offered as a commercial peak, however for the autumn season, it is the best.
