Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Acclimatize

  Fly to Leh and reach Leh by Noon. Check into a hotel and relax. The first 2 days for any trek in Ladakh region are extremely important. These 2 days will ensure that you trek and enjoy the Markha trek to the fullest. Flying into Leh brings you to an altitude of 10000 ft+. Therefore, it is of immense importance that we get ourselves acclimatized. On day 2, we explore the market of Leh as well as some sightseeing (Thiksey Monastery, Leh Palace and the famous Shanti Stupa). We will also try walking on the snow on.
• Day 2 : Acclimatize

• Day 3 : Drive to Chilling from Leh via Nimoo

  Drive from Leh to Chilling. Chilling is a small roadside town where we will check into a homestay at chilling. We will also get a phone facility here if we there is a need.
• Day 4 : From Chilling to Skiu

  Again, an early start today as well from Chilling. We will cross the river today through a manual trolley to reach the other side. Once we are cross the river, we will start trekking. The entire landscape will be snow covered by now. With a few ascents and descents, we will reach the village of Skiu. Check into the homestay and relax.
• Day 5 : Skiu to Sara

  It is the most scenic walk today. With a completely frozen Markha river on your right, you will also experience how it is to walk on Chadar as you will get few long stretches on this frozen river. With almost a fairy-like view, it is a delight. We reach Sara village. Sara village is a small with about 10-12 houses and may be about 2 offering home stays but it sure is worth staying at Sara.
• Day 6 : Sara to Markha village

  As we continue on our trek, we might come across ibex, some extremely rare birds and if we are lucky, we might spot a snow leopard as well. We cross an old wooden bridge before making our way to the Markha village. Although, it is also a small village, Markha has its own ancient Monastery and also a school. Spend the night at Markha in a homestay. We will also have a phone line facility here at Markha.
• Day 7 : Markha village to Skiu

  After having explored, the Markha village, we will start our trek back to reach Skiu. Everything would have changed with the continuous snow falls and our trek back will therefore be exciting as well. We reach the Skiu village and check into the homestay. It is a long walk back so after having our meals, we call it a day.
• Day 8 : Skiu to Chilling

  We will start at ease today and trek back to Chilling. With some gradual ascents and descents, we will reach Chilling and take the same trolley to cross the river. It is an extremely thrilling experience. We get to chilling and relax at a homestay.
• Day 9 : Chilling to Leh

  Our cars will pick us up from Chilling today and we will drive back to Leh. We stop on the way and pay a visit to famous Gurudwara Pathhar Sahib. We check into the hotel by the afternoon and relax.
