Types and Cost of Accommodation in the Masai Mara

Accommodation in Masai mara during a wildebeest migration is offered depending on the level of luxury you are looking for. Masai mara has lodges which have more facilities like bars, restaurants, business centers, beauty parlor and salons, swimming pool and much more. The lodges charge anywhere from usd 200 pppn in the high season or more.

There are also luxury tented camps which come with expensive furniture and silver dining experiences. The luxury camps come with fine linen and expensive décor and furniture with gold plating on metal works. The camps only have afew units to be able to give its clients seclusion and privacy with each tent located far from the other. These can be anywhere from Usd 400pppn to 800pppn.

Then we have the budget semi luxury tented camps which are by nature basic but comfortable. These provide a good bed, private hot showers and flush toilet at the rear of the tent and a porch area with simple furniture. Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Masai Mara Game Reserve

  Depart Nairobi at 8:30am for Masai mara budget migration safari. Arrive at 1:00pm and check into the budget tented camp. Enjoy a buffet lunch and later go for an evening game drive till dusk.

• Day 2 : Masai Mara

  Early breakfast and go to the mara river for a full day game drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the river and later return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

• Day 3 : Masai Mara - Nairobi

  Early breakfast and go on a game drive in the park until 10:00am. Later return to the camp and check out for the return journey back to Nairobi. Have lunch enroute at Narok town and arrive in Nairobi in late afternoon for drop off at the hotel.
