Day 1 : Ho Chi Minh city
On your arrival in the evening you will be given a welcoming briefing with optional dinner at a local restaurant. No activities are planned for today.
Day 2 : HCMC- Cu Chi tunnel
In the morning we take a short city tour to the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum and Notre Dame Cathedral, and walk through the many beautiful French colonial buildings such as the main post office and the former HOTEL DE VILLE.
In the afternoon take some time to interact with locals to get an insight into their lives, before we drive to Cu Chi tunnels. The 200 Km of Cu Chi tunnels depict the tenacious spirit of the Vietnamese. The local guide will take you on a fascinating tour of the Cu Chi tunnels. As you dig deeper you will realize the extent of destruction that convulsed Cu Chi during the war.
Day 3 : Mekong
Visit the city of My Tho, a former naval base that is now a bustling port city in the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival into My Tho, you will take a cruise on the Mekong River in a private boat. On our Mekong tour, we will visit a fish farm, an island with lush tropical gardens and sample tropical fruit, continue to another island in the Mekong Delta to learn more about cottage industry. Your local guide will take you to a factory and explain the process of making the coconut sweet. You will visit local villages in the area to learn more about the people who call the Delta their home. Travel by Xe Loi, a motorized cart to visit a bee farm. You will then be taken deeper into the canals of the Delta in a small rowing boat. Lunch with local cuisine will be at Diem Phuong restaurant after which you will be taken back to HCMC via My Tho. Overnight Stay at the Hotel.
Day 4 : Street food walking tour
Morning is free to explore the Ho Chi Minh city. In the evening, the Saigon food tour kicks off with a short walk from the Opera House to the Old Market. The 40 year old market is famous for the dozens of street vendors selling local favorites like fresh spring rolls, green papaya salad, and Vietnamese savoury steamed rice cakes, just to name a few.
The continue to Mong Bridge for a unique view of an intersection of life in Saigon. Here again you will get the chance to indulge in Saigon’s famous street food: banh mi, a kind of bread. Hidden in the façade of a rundown building lies a gourmet coffee haven, where you will experience drinking coffee the Saigonese coffee aficionados way. Then you will proceed towards the Ben Thanh Night Market to try a Vietnamese che, a sweet soup dessert, served in a glass over ice. The evening ends with street beer and a chance to mingle with locals. The local guide will assist you in getting a taxi back to your accommodation. Overnight Stay at the Hotel.
Day 5 : Departure
You are free to leave anytime after breakfast. Check out time from the hotel is at 12 noon. If you are departing later, you can arrange luggage storage at the hotel.
