Day 1 : Arrive Delhi
The Day 1 of this enthralling Monuments of India Tour starts with your arrival in Delhi. Our representative will receive you from airport and escort you to the hotel.
In the afternoon, you’ll set out to visit the National Museum that houses a large collection of Indian antiquities.
A welcome dinner in the evening at hotel will be followed by a briefing on your tour.
Day 2 : Delhi
On the Day 2, hit the Delhi streets for sightseeing capital’s myriad of attractions. Delhi is essentially divided in two parts: Old Delhi and New Delhi each having its unique charm and glory. You’ll visit Gandhi Memorials, Jama Masjid, Red Fort and Laxmi Narain Temple in Old Delhi and India Gate, the President’s House, the Parliament House in the Lutyen’s Delhi. Besides, you’ll also get to visit Lotus Temple and Qutb Minar.
Day 3 : Khajuraho
Early morning, on the Day 3 of your historical and heritage tour package you’ll be boarding a flight to Khajuraho to witness world’s most sensuous temples. On arriving you’ll check into your hotel. Afternoon, set out for a stroll of charming town. Khajuraho boasts of 22 temples that are singularly the best specimens of Hindu architecture in India.
Overnight stay, stay at Khajuraho hotel.
Day 4 : Agra
On the Day 4 of the Monuments of India expedition, you’ll be driven to Jhansi to board the train to Agra. En route, stop for sleepy town of Orchha where you’ll visit magnificent remnants of Jahangir Mahal.
By evening, you’ll arrive at Agra. Check into your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 5 : Agra
Agra makes for a significant halt during this cultural holiday in India Agra is a medieval town in North India. It is called city of emperors as it remained the capital of three Mughal Emperors: Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. The town is dotted with specimens of Mughal architecture. Besides the splendid Taj Mahal, Agra boasts of imposing Agra Fort, Itmad-ud-Daula’s Tomb and Dayal Bagh.
After a full day of sightseeing, return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 6 : Agra - Jaipur
Followed by a sumptuous breakfast and a leisurely morning, you’ll be driven to Jaipur. En route, you’ll pay visit to Fatehpur Sikri. It’s a small town which was established as capital of Mughal Empire by Akbar. But soon after its construction, the town was abandoned as the local wells dried up leaving behind unspoilt buildings. You’ll see Salim Chishti’s Tomb, Bulland Darwaza and Panch Mahal.
You’ll arrive in Jaipur in the afternoon. Spend rest of the day at leisure at your hotel.
Day 7 : Jaipur
On the Day 7, you’ll be taken on excursion to visit Amber Fort, 13 km from the Pink City Jaipur. Enjoy the elephant ride here. Later in the day you’ll also visit Hawa Mahal, the place of winds; Jantar Mantar, the royal observatory and the City Palace Complex, a conglomerate of many structures and buildings.
Day 8 : Jaipur - Jodhpur
Early morning on the Day 8, you’ll head for Jodhpur, the blue city. On arrival at Jodhpur, check into your hotel where the night stay is scheduled.
Day 9 : Jodhpur
The city of Jodhpur was established by Rao Jodha in 1459.
Today, you’ll be taken on sightseeing trip of the city. You’ll visit Mehrangarh Fort, one of India’s largest forts. See the ornate murals, carvings and beautiful frescoes. You’ll also visit Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal and Sheesh Mahal.
Following the Fort tour, you’ll be taken on a guided stroll to see the old city.
Night is spent in Jodhpur.
Day 10 : Udaipur
In the morning following breakfast, proceed towards Udaipur. En route you’ll stop to visit Ranakpur, home to India’s largest and magnificent Jain Temples. You’ll visit Kumbahlgarh Fort.
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Udaipur. Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Night stay is scheduled at hotel in Udaipur.
Day 11 : Udaipur
In the morning, you’ll be taken on sightseeing of the beautiful city of Udaipur. You’ll visit the City Palace, the largest palace in Rajasthan along with a medieval era Jagdish Temple. You’ll also visit Sahelion ki Bari, the garden of then maids of honor.
The lunch will be served at splendid gallery restaurant at Fateh Parkash Palace followed by a boat ride in Lake Pichola.
Day 12 : Aurangabad
On the Day 12, you’ll be escorted to airport to board a flight to Mumbai where you’ll be boarding the flight to Aurangabad. You’ll arrive at Aurangabad in the evening. Check into your hotel to spend a night there.
Day 13 : Aurangabad
Today, you’ll be exploring the Ajanta caves, a UNESCO world heritage site. Ajanta caves showcase the praiseworthy tapestry of pictorial art that speak volumes of the life and philosophy of Buddha. These 29 caves built over a period spanning 200 BC to 650 AD were accidentally discovered by some British Officers who were on a tiger hunt.
Day 14 : Mumbai
In the morning on Day 14 of Monuments of India expedition, you’ll be escorted to visit the Ellora caves. Ellora caves were carved between 350 BC and 700 AD and incorporate 34 caves, of which 12 are Buddhist caves, 17 are dedicated to Hinduism and the remaining 5 depict the philosophy of Jainism. The Kailasha Temple at Ellora is world’s largest monolithic temple.
Day 15 : Madurai
Today you’ll be flying to Madurai where you’ll be arriving in afternoon. The major attraction of Madurai is its beautiful Meenakshi Amman Temple. The legend puts it that Lord Shiva descended on earth in the incarnation of Sundreswarar to marry Meenakshi who was incarnate of Parvati. You'll get to visit temple complex which is a masterpiece of Dravidian architecture.
Day 16 : Chettinad
After a leisurely morning, you’ll be driven to Chettinad known for its ornate artistic houses. Spend the full day exploring thye beautiful town and palace. Retire to Madurai hotel for overnight stay.
Day 17 : Tanjore - Trichy
Today, you’ll be driven to Tanjore or Thanjavur as it is referred to these days. It is called the city of temples thanks to its 74 temples of Dravidian era. You’ll visit famous Brihadeswarar Temple and Thanjavur Palace before hitting the road again to Tiruchirapalli.
The evening is special as you’ll explore the city and visit the fascinating Rock Fort Temple.
Day 18 : Chennai
In the morning, you’ll be boarding the train to Chennai, the last stop of this fascinating sojourn. Chennai is one of the four metropolises in India and the capital of Tamil Nadu. The city boasts of quaint buildings, silvery beaches, rich culture and pulsating nightlife. The prime attractions are Marina Beach, National Art Gallery, Fort St. George and St. Thomas Basilica.
After enjoying a full day city sightseeing, you’ll be staying at a beach hotel for overnight stay.
Day 19 : Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram
Today is the penultimate day of the Monuments of India Tour. You’ll be driven to Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram - two old and scared cities dotted with a number of splendid temples.
After a full day expedition, return to Chennai hotel for overnight stay.
Day 20 : Madras - Delhi
The last day of this amazing tour will be spent at leisure. Indulge in last minute shopping. A farewell dinner will be served before you’re transported to domestic terminal to connect to the return flight to home from Delhi.
