Mount Damavand Ascend Tour

Package Overview

You will sleep in Tehran on your arrival day. The next day one and a half hour driving outside the capital will take you to the mountains over 4000m in the heart of Alborz Mountain ranges. We will make a camp on 3300m (base camp of Kolon Bastak Mountain). This attitude will prepare you physically and mentally for climbing.

Next day morning, we start ascending to the MT Kolon Bastak peak (4250m). On this trekking route many of Central Alborz Mountains are visible. The summit will give you a good view of Shah Alborz, Tochal (3960 m) and Seechal in the south; Damavand, Kholeno area, Sarakchal (4210m), Abak... in the east; Naz, Kahar, Takht-e-Soleiman massif in the west and the middle part of central Alborz ridgelines with impressive Azadkuh (4400m) in the north. We will have a good view of Dizin, Shemshak and Darband Sar ski resorts as well. After one day rest, we will drive to Damavand base camp and from there we will get on a 4x4 towards the second camp. From here we start ascending to the 3rd camp with 4250 m altitude (Bargah Seveom). The next day is acclimatization day for the PEAK, we will hike up around 5000m and come back to our camp. On this night we sleep early to be prepared for summit day which is the hardest and longest day. On the last day after climbing to the peak, we will descend to the base camp and from there we will drive to Larijan hot spring spa before driving back to Tehran.

In this program you will have enough time to relax, mix with locals and take photos of the majestic volcano from vintage points. Once on Damavand summit you will experience the highest point of the Iranian plateau and the Middle East.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Tehran Arrival

  Transfer and check-in to your hotel.

• Day 2 : Drive to Central Alborz Mountains

  Free before noon and in the afternoon depart to the Central Alborz Mountain (Kolon Bastak base camp). Overnight camp.

  • Meals & Drinks : Breakfast, Dinner

• Day 3 : Ascending Mt. Koloon Bastak (4125 M)

  Hiking to the summit will take approximately 5 hours. After rest and photography on the peak back to the base. Overnight stay in the local house.

  • Meals & Drinks : Breakfast, Lunch

• Day 4 : Rest Day

  We are free today as we need to save some energy for the main project of the tour. Those who are interested in walking around the area your guide can help you to see some places and attractive points. Overnight stay at local house.

  • Meals & Drinks : Breakfast

• Day 5 : Drive to the Base Camp & Climbing to 3rd Camp

  Drive to Rineh(base camp). From there with jeep will take drive to the Damavand second camp (3000m). Hiking to the third camp (Bargah Sevom) at 4250m altitude. (Total ascends 1250m). Overnight camp.

  • Meals & Drinks : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

• Day 6 : Acclimatization Day

  hiking to a frozen waterfall which is at about 5000 meters and return. This will take about 6 to 7 hours and will be very suitable for our acclimatization before summit day. Overnight stay at camp.

  • Meals & Drinks : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

• Day 7 : Ascend to Summit (5610m)

  Challenging climb to the peak usually takes about 6 to 7 hours. From the summit we then begin descending to 3rd camp, a journey of some 7 hours that should bring us back to the camp in time for dinner. Total haking time is approximately 12-14 hours. Total scend/descend 2700m. Overnight stay at camp.

  • Meals & Drinks : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

• Day 8 : Descend the Mountain, Back to Tehran

  Descending to second camp. Drive to Larijan natural hot spring bath to leave the tiredness in the hot mineral water then will be driven to the hotel in Tehran. Overnight sleep at hotel

  • Meals & Drinks : Breakfast, Lunch

• Day 9 : Tehran and Departure

  Free time before noon and checking out of the hotel. We will transfer you to the IKA airport

  • Meals & Drinks : Breakfast
