Package Overview

Mount Yunam is located near Baralacha pass and lies in Lahaul near Ladakh border in Himachal Pradesh -. Baralacha is the gateway to Sarchu bordering between Himachal & J&K. The base camp is just few kilometers from Baralacha Pass on Manali Leh highway near Bharatpur. The peak offers an opportunity to reach 6110 Mts. on snow and scree. This peak is one of the rare peak which can considered similar to Stok Kangri, though Yunam is not popular and but know to few people who has travelled by the Manali – Leh highway. Yunam peak trek is definitely not a beginners trek, prior experience of climbing 5000mts or above is required.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Manali

  Arrive at Manali hotel by morning. Post lunch our representative will brief you about the trek. Explore Manali or nearby sightseeing places till evening. Overnight stay in Manali hotel.
• Day 2 : Jispa

  After breakfast drive to Jispa. En-route halt at Rohtang pass (3979 Mts). There after we proceed ahead via Keylong to Jispa. Upon arrival we will set our camp at Jispa. Post lunch trekkers are free to explore Jispa and it also helps in getting acclimatized at higher altitude. Return to the campsite before sunset. Overnight stay in tents.

• Day 3 : Jispa to Bharatpur (14760ft)

  Today we will proceed to Bahartpur via Baralacha Pass. After spending some time at pass descend down to Baharatpur and establish the base camp near road head. Here you can see the origin of Chandra and Bhaga rivers and the Chandrabhaga mountain ranges. After evening tea and refreshment we proceed for an acclimatization walk and back to camp. Overnight stay in tents.
• Day 4 : Bharatpur ( Acclimatization Day)

  Today we shall gradually ascend from Bharatpur, the trail continues to the snow line. Within two days there’s massive altitude gain so trekkers here are expected to get mild headache, feeling sick, vomiting, nausea etc, but its very common in these condition. So, this day is kept for getting used to with higher altitude and weather conditions. After breakfast we will brief you about the day’s plan and proceed to do some training on snow and ice. Return to the campsite by lunch time followed by leisure time till evening. Overnight stay in tents.
• Day 5 : Bharatpur to Camp-1 (17390ft)

  After breakfast we proceed for Camp-1. Previous day’s practice of walking on snow patches will help trekkers for walk of 5 km. One shall find few water points for refilling water bottles on the way and you are expected to have lots of fluid as it will help getting acclimatize quickly. Arrive at Camp – 1 by afternoon and have lunch. Post lunch explore nearby area. Back to camp for dinner and rest.
• Day 6 : Camp-1 Acclimatization (17390ft)

  This day is entirely kept for practising the summit walk and also to get along with the surrounding and atmosphere. Today we will exercise ascending and descending on snow. Trek leader shall train you about the climb for next day’s summit and also about the challenges one may face during summit. Emphasis on physical fitness shall be more during the training and practice session. Come back to camp for lunch. Early dinner and enough rest is required as we shall begin our summit by 3 am. Overnight in tents.
• Day 7 : Camp-1 - Summit (20178ft) – Bharatpur

  Wake up call will be around 02:00 am. After light breakfast, we start climbing the peak. It’s going to be 8-9 hours of walk today. While on trek, one is expected to feel spine chilling, numbing cold wind and bit of breathing difficulties at this height. Keep yourself hydrated with lots of fluid this day. Reaching the summit is going to be taxing and demanding. Trekkers shall get a definite feel of technical climb at the summit. After reaching the summit, the view from top is magnificent, which will be followed by prayers and picture on top of the peak, we descend to Base camp at Bharatpur. Stay in tents.
• Day 8 : Bharatpur - Manali - Today We Will Drive Back to Manali

  After early breakfast depart for Manali by reserved vehicle. On the way you can visit Shashur monastery in Keylong and later you ll get a magnificent view of Hanuman Tibba peak. Arrive at Manali by evening. Depart for Delhi by evening bus and goodbye to your trek mates. Yunam Peak trek ends here.
