Package Overview

Kang Yatse peaks lies south east of Leh and it is situated in Markha Valley on the top of Nimaling Plateau. Scaling this peak is a fascination for all the trekkers coming to the Markha Valley, as they can see the majestic sights of this outstanding peak while trekking there. There are two peaks, one is easy and non-technical 6200m high, and the other one is technical 6400m high. Though there are many options to scale this summit, but the best way is to do it with the Markha Valley trek in which 6 days are at one's disposal for acclimatization while trekking from Spituk to Hankar. It takes 4-5 days to reach up to summit and back to base camp and 2-3 days from base to Nimaling and then to Shang Sumdo via Gongmarula 5150m.The acclimatization trek will include trekking at high altitudes where one gets used to the height and the weather. We also get to view the wild life and experience camping in tents. There is an ample time to hike around and visit local villages on the way which exposes us to the life and culture of the inhabitants living in the cold regions.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 :

  Arrival at Delhi International airport and full day Delhi sightseeing
• Day 2 :

  Arrival in Leh at Kushok Bakula Airport. Complete day rest.
• Day 3 :

  Full day Jeep tour Sightseeing to Shey, Thinksey and Hemis- biggest and famous monasteries of Ladakh at Indus valley for acclimatization.

• Day 4 :

  Leh to Spituk village 20 mins drive. Then Trek from Spituk village to Zingchen (4-5 hrs)
• Day 5 :

  Zingchen to Ganda La base (3-4 hours)
• Day 6 :

  Ganda La base to Skyu via Gandala 4900 m (6-7 hours)
• Day 7 :

  Skyu to Markha (7-8 hours)
• Day 8 :

  Markha to Thachungtse (5-6 hours)
• Day 9 :

  Thachungtse to Kangyatse Base Camp (4-6 hours)
• Day 10 :

  Base camp - High camp (4 hrs)
• Day 11 :

  High camp - Summit - Base camp (9-10 hrs)
• Day 12 :

  Kangyatse Base - Nimaling (3 hrs)
• Day 13 :

  Nimaling to Shangsumdho via Kongmarula 5200 m (7 hours)
• Day 14 :

  Shangsumdho to Leh via Martselang (2 hours trek, 1 hour drive) and half day hiking around Leh city.
• Day 15 :

  Fly Leh to Delhi and to your home country.
