Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Kathmandu - Nyalam, 155 Km

  Starting the tour from Kathmandu, today we will drive to Nyalam enjoying the vista of the countryside of Nepal on the way. We drive along the Bhote Koshi River as the river flows just opposite to the direction of our ride. We then drive across the Nepal-Tibet border and drive uphill to the town of Zhangmu and finally arrive at Nyalam at the dawn. The first day will end in Nyalam as we stay overnight at a guest house there.
• Day 2 : Nyalam - Pelgu Tso, 57 Km

  The second day of the tour starts from Nyalam as we leave the place and head towards Pelgu Tso. We drive through the Thong La Pass from where we drive downhill before driving the acclivity of Lalung La Pass. Lalung La Pass will offer us an incredible view of the Mt. Shishapangma which is the 14th highest peak of the world at 8,013 m (26,289 ft). The day ends there and there will be arrangements for spending the night.
• Day 3 : Pelgu Tso - Saga

  Today we will head towards Saga, a typical Tibetan town which is the gateway for tourist and pilgrims who visit Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar.
• Day 4 : Saga - Paryang, 255 Km

  From Saga, we will drive to Zhongbu which is further 145 Km away and will take 4-5 hours on road. The road is fine and the trip will be fairly comfortable. Zhongbu has a nice little monastery to its west and we can pull over to visit the Monastery. Roads beyond Zhongbu are not as good and can be very bumpy as well as dusty. However the beautiful vista that can be enjoyed as we drive further more than compensate for the road condition. We will call it a day after we reach Paryang.
• Day 5 : Paryang - Lake Mansorovar, 260 Km

  The drive from Paryang to Mansarovar can be very difficult and is long too. We have to spend as long as 10-11 hours on the road before we can finally reach Lake Mansarovar. We pass across many rivers along the way and also drive through the Mayum La Pass. Like every other days, this day's ride will also offer a lot of comfort to our eyes in the form of panoramic Himalayan vista. We conclude the day after we reach Mansarovar and spend our night camping at Hor Qu.
• Day 6 : Mansorovar - Darchen, 30 Km

  Darchen is situated at 30 Km north from Hor Qu, our camping site. From here we will make arrangements for our Kailash Circuit trek and look for Yaks and ponies as per our necessity.
• Day 7 : Kailash Circuit Trek Day 1 (Darchen- Diraphuk)

  The Kailash Circuit Trek requires three days of extensive trekking and might not be always easy for the body. The trek is 53 Km long.The first day of the trek requires us to walk not less than six hours and includes hiking as well as climbing. We will head west and after a few hours of climbing we will reach a cairn at 4,730 m (15,518 ft) from where we can get a view of Mt. Kailash. En route we will also visit Tarboche where the annual flagpole raising ceremony takes places in Saga Dawa on the full moon of the fourth lunar month.
• Day 8 : Kailash Circuit Trek Day 2 (Dhiraphuk- Zutrulphuk)

  On the second day of the Mt. Kailash Circuit Trek, we will walk across the Dolma La Pass (5,630 m/18,471 ft). We will also visit Lake Gouri Kunda which is at an altitude of 5,608 m (18,399 ft). Hindu pilgrims take a holy dip and worship in this frozen lake.
• Day 9 : Kailash Circuit Trek Day 3

  The Kailash Circuit trek will end after walking 2-3 hours downhill to the river on the Barga plain. From there we will frive to Darcha and then to Lake Mansarovar. We will stay overnight at Chiu Gompa which is situated at the dramatic setting by a rocky cliff overlooking the Lake. Mansarovar and Mt. Kailash, which is a sight to behold. At this moment you wish time stopped.
• Day 10 : Lake Manasorovar - Rest/ Self Exploration

  You can use the 10th day to recharge your batteries and/or take a quiet stroll around the Mansarovar Lake are to explore things on our own. If you so wish you can also visit the meditation caves that are aplenty in the area and spend some peaceful time meditating. You can take a bath in the holy waters of Lake Mansarovar.
• Day 11 : Lake Manasorovar - Paryang

  Today we will take a return trip to Paryang on the same bumpy and dusty road that brought us here and stay overnight in Paryang.
• Day 12 : Paryang - Saga

  From Paryang, we will leave for Saga where we will spend the night. The whole day will be spent on the road.
• Day 13 : Saga - Nylam

  As we near towards the end of our tour, we will spend this day driving back from Saga to Nyalam through the barren plains of Tingri. In Nyalam you will have the luxury to finally spend the night in aa cozy and warm bed of a decent hotel/guest house.
• Day 14 : Back to Nyalam and Kathmandu

  After having your breakfast, you will today head towards Zhangmu from Nyalam. Along the road numerous waterfalls will cool your soul. You will then drive further to Tibet-Nepal border, cross the Miteri Sangu (Friendship Bridge) and head to Kathmandu. Your snacks for the day will be the fresh fish delicatessen at Chehere and Dolalghat. The tour will conclude upon your arrival in Kathmandu.
