After arriving at Mumbai we spend three days exploring the city. We get to see all the major sights including the Gateway of India, the Prince of Wales Museum, the attractive Hanging Gardens, the famous Dhobi Ghat (city laundry), Gandhi Museum and the iconic Victoria Terminus. A boat trip out to Elephanta Island to visit the sacred caves also makes an exciting day in this bustling city. We also have time to enjoy a national pastime with a game of cricket in a local cricket ground, and to pay a visit to the showbiz razzmatazz of a Bollywood film studio.

An enjoyable overnight train ride takes us south to the tropical beaches and faded colonial architecture of Goa, revealing a very different side to India from the busy metropolis. Highlights include a dolphin-watching trip, an elephant ride, an excursion to beautiful Miramar beach, and of course, the rich heritage architecture of Panaji.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Mumbai

  Arrive at Mumbai international airport. After traditional welcome we transfer to the hotel for check-in. Overnight Hotel

• Day 2 : Mumbai

  Sight-seeing of Mumbai. Drive to Gateway of India and take catamaran to visit Elephanta Caves of 7th century. Return to the city and explore the market in the evening. Overnight Hotel

  • Hotspots : Gateway of India, Elephanta Caves

• Day 3 : Mumbai

  In the morning make your way to the local playing field/ground for a game of cricket. After lunch visit Bollywood studios to watch Bollywood numbers/series or movies being shot. Watch a movie in theatre in the evening. Overnight Hotel

• Day 4 : Mumbai

  Mumbai – Goa (overnight train) Today visit Gateway of India and Prince of Wales Museum. Drive past University of Bombay, the High Court and Crawford Market. Then visit the Hanging Gardens and drive through the residential area of Mumbai’s rich and famous on Malabar Hill. Visit Dhobi Ghat (the renowned city laundry), the Gandhi Memorial Museum and Victoria Terminus. Evening transfer to the railway station to board the overnight train to Goa. Overnight Train

• Day 5 : Goa

  Arrive in Goa early in the morning and check-in. Rest of the day free to relax or to explore the local area/market or have been and fun on the beach. Overnight Hotel

• Day 6 : Goa

  Today go on dolphin-watching trip into the seas. Visit Ponda region to see organic farming of spices and taste the same. Enjoy the rest of the day free doing whatever you like. Overnight Hotel

• Day 7 : Goa

  Goa sight-seeing. A full day sightseeing in Goa. Visit Fort Aguada and proceed to Panaji. Travel on to Miramar beach and spend the rest of the day at the beach. Overnight Hotel

• Day 8 : Goa

  Free day today. In the evening attend a cookery class in nearby coaching centre to learn how to cook Indian dishes. Cook and eat with the local chefs. Overnight Hotel

• Day 9 : Goa

  Morning flight back to Mumbai. Upon arrival in Mumbai, departure transfer to the International Airport.
