Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Day Itinerary

  You will be picked up from your place of stay by your driver & local host and will drive you to Murudeshwar temple located in Murudeshwara beach. The prime attraction of this beach town is its Shiva temple. A famous landmark here is the world’s second tallest Shiva statue.
  
  
  
  The statue, standing at a height of 123 feet, took almost 20 years for Shivamogg’s Kashinath and several other sculptors to build. The Shiva temple is surrounded by sea on three sides and presents a beautiful picture at sunrise and sunset. Two life-sized elephants made of concrete stand guard at the steps leading to the temple en route visit Mahabaleshwar temple in Gokarna and lunch halt at local restaurant (Veg only).
  
  
  
  The highly sacred Mahabaleshwar Temple whose presiding deity is the Atmalinga of Lord Shiva is located in the coastal town of Gokarna in Karnataka. The Gokarna Temple architecture features resemble the Dravidian style of construction. The walls are made of granite. Inside the Sanctum, the main Atmalinga is enshrined in a square shaped Saligrama Peetha with a small hole on the top. A carved image of Lord Shiva is kept near the Linga. The image represents Lord Shiva in a standing position and is believed to be 1500 years old. The actual Atmalinga can be seen in whole only once in 40 years during the Ashtabandana Kumbhabhishekam.
