Nagarkot is on the one hand a popular tourist hill and also include a UNESCO site monument nearby there. So, it is both a natural excursion and the cultural tour in the famous green hill of Nagarkot. Basically, many people go there for the sunrise and sunset view, but it is also a popular place for hiking.

Hiking in Nagarkot has been gaining popularity due to the abundant attractions. The trip begins after an hour drive to the Sankhu village. It is an old Newari town, dotted with the temples and statues. With the surprising sceneries of the fields and scattered settlements, the journey moves forward through the forests and meadows. The more you hike upwards, the more dazzling views come closer. The Everest Himalayan range can be seen clearly during the hiking. It is in total about 4 hours walking to reach the Nagarkot hill and you reach to the piece of heaven with the breathtaking sceneries. The green hills, gorges and villages all are seen spectacular. During the hike, you go on exploring the cultural significance of the Changu Narayan temple, which is believed to have built in 323 AD by the King Hari Dutta. The stone and wooden sculptures are still lively and unique. Concluding the Nagarkot day hike, you drive back to Kathmandu.
