Fiji’s last traditional village, Navala, is north from Nadi, through the sugar city of Lautoka, home of Fiji’s largest sugar cane mill. With a stop in the predominantly Indo-Fijian town of Ba, you will have time to visit the market and experience the bustle of this rural centre. From Ba, it’s a climb into the hills to the village. After a customary ‘Sevusevu’ or ceremony welcoming visitors, you will have the opportunity to tour the village and mingle with the children at the village school (weekdays only). Lunch is the chance to try authentic Fijian cuisine. There is access to swimming and horse riding (extra $10 paid directly to the village) or relax and enjoy this remote village.
Start your adventure trip heading directly to the isolated village of Navala. Situated in the Northern Central Viti Levu in the Ba Highlands. We will pass through the Sugar City of Fiji towards Ba. Crossing the river you will arrive to the settlement of Navala, traditional thatched Bures many years old protected by the mountains and ridges. The flooding of river often separates Navala from the main land. Navala is a special village as the houses are of the same size.
