Day 1 : Auckland – “The city of sails”
Arrive at Auckland International Airport. You will meet our local representative who will arrange your transfer to Hotel. Check in to your hotel, rest of the day is at leisure to explore on your own. Auckland is New Zealand's largest city and main transport hub. Enjoy the shopping, dining and natural wonders that Auckland has to offer. Some flights reach at night in Auckland. Day 2 : Auckland City Tour
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for your half day city tour of Auckland- Travel through the city centre, along Karangahape Road with its chequered past and eclectic vibe, past fashionable Ponsonby and over the Auckland Harbour Bridge, enjoying views of the Hauraki Gulf and city skyline. Visit the Viaduct Harbour and Auckland's famous Queen Street before continuing to the Auckland Domain. The Domain is the city's oldest park and, at 75 hectares, one of its largest. Developed around an extinct volcano, it features tropical gardens, duck ponds and public art, and is also home to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. After visiting the Domain, the tour continues to Parnell Village for a morning tea stop. The historic buildings of Parnell have been transformed into a trendy shopping area featuring a range of boutiques, craft and specialty stores. The tour will then take you along the scenic waterfront route of Tamaki Drive to Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park, above Mission Bay. Named after one of New Zealand's most revered Prime Ministers, the park, with its formal gardens and tranquil atmosphere, offers a panoramic outlook over the picturesque Eastern Bays, Auckland city and the Waitemata Harbour. Then get up close with the diverse local marine life at the famous Kelly Tarlton‟s Underwater World, just five minutes from downtown - Set on the waterfront of Auckland City on Okahu Bay, just moments from the famous Mission Bay beach, Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium is one of Auckland's top attractions! Kelly Tarlton's showcases over 30 live animal exhibits in spectacular habitat displays, including the world's largest Antarctic penguin colony exhibit and amazing underwater viewing tunnels. The fantastic Animal Adventures offer unique and thrilling 'up close' underwater encounters with huge sharks, including the all new Shark Dive Xtreme and Shark Cage experience. You can also head out onto the ice to get up close to our amazing penguins with Penguin Discovery.Afternoon is at leisure – visit the Sky Tower at Sky City Auckland - A truly captivating experience awaits visitors to Auckland's Sky Tower. At 328 meters, it is the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand and offers breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometers in every direction. Travel up in the glass-fronted lifts to one of the three spectacular viewing platforms, or for more thrills and excitement, SkyWalk round the pergola at 192 meters up or SkyJump, Sky Tower is one of New Zealand's most exhilarating and spectacular tourist attractions, you will be amazed at what you can see and do under one roof! Please note in October 2015 they‟ll be launching a new lift up to the Sky Deck (Level 60). Overnight at hotel in Auckland.
Day 3 : Auckland – Waitomo - Rotorua
After breakfast at hotel, check out and proceed through the lush farmland of the Waikato and King Country regions. Your experienced local driver guide will provide entertaining commentary and point out historical sites of interest including Rangiriri, the location of a major battle in the Māori Land Wars.En-route visit to Waitomo Glowworm Caves- this guided tour will take you through over 250 meters of stunning underground scenery commencing with the impressive Cathedral. Your tour begins at the upper entrance of the cave and proceeds along a low narrow passage to the Tomo, a deep limestone shaft. Other magnificent cave formations include the Banquet Chamber, the Pipe Organ and the Catacombs.The highlight of your tour is an unrivalled boat trip through the spectacular Glowworm Grotto. As your eyes adjust to the dark, the walls and roof sparkle with the lights of glowworm larvae. Glide silently through the starry wonderland of the glowworm grotto, your way lit by a myriad of tiny glowworm lights glittering, and reflecting off the water. After the tour proceed to Rotorua. Day 4 : Rotorua
After breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit the Rainbow Springs Parks- Rainbow Springs is truly an attraction like no other in the world. A show filled with fascinating facts and engaging antics performed by our colourful and sometimes noisy exotic parrots. Our feathered entertainers don‟t just fly, some of them will also show off their amazing intellects and skills with a range of games and tricks which are sure to be crowd pleasers. Then proceed for a tour of Agrodome Farm – a unique farm fun for the whole family - see the worldfamous Farm Show – starring a cast of talented animals… and you! You will also visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve to view the boiling mudpools and cascading Pohutu Geyser that makes Rotorua famous as New Zealand‟s “thermal city”. Enjoy a visit to the Maori Arts & Crafts Institute and see local Maori carvers in action. Overnight at hotel in Rotorua.
Day 5 : Rotorua - Christchurch
After breakfast at hotel, check out and transfer to Rotorua airport for your domestic flight to Christchurch. Onarrival at Christchurch, your luggage will be transferred by our local representative to your hotel. Proceed to visit International Antarctic Centre – located in the heart of a working Antarctic campus at Christchurch International Airport. Antarctic attraction is designed to bring a powerful and memorable experience of Antarctica to visitors in a fun, exciting, informative and commercially successful way. Aquarium displays some of the actual specimens from the Antarctic Ocean floor in McMurdo Sound. Explore the Gallery area which is packed full of informative displays showcasing modern day Antarctica, including the Antarctic Treaty partners, the human impact on the continent, the wildlife and plant systems and Antarctica‟s effect on the globe. The Gallery area encourages „touching‟ of most of the exhibits to ensure visitors experience Antarctica in a fun and interactive way.Chill out in REAL snow & ice - indoor polar room with -5°C; Brace yourself for the world's first indoorAntarctic storm, Climb the amazing Hagglund ride - sit back, hold on and experience travelling across rough terrain in this unique and exciting machine!. Day 6 : Christchurch
After breakfast at hotel, proceed to discover the fascinating history of Christchurch on a half day city sightseeing tour in New Zealand‟s only open top Double Decker bus - On tour we will view some of the areas affected by the earthquakes, see how Christchurch is preserving some of its iconic heritage buildings and hear about the exciting vision to rebuild and restore the inner city. Your experience includes a tour around central Christchurch on New Zealand‟s only Open Top Double Decker and a 2 hour Tour on a closed top Double Decker visiting places of interest in greater Christchurch. During the winter months (May-October) the Open Top bus may not be operating on Tour due to weather.The Central City Tour will continue to run on the closed roof Double Decker bus. Highlights include: Hagley Park, Botanic Gardens & River Avon, Canterbury Museum & Arts Centre, Christchurch Art Gallery, Christchurch Cathedral & Cardboard Cathedral, Art Deco New Regent Street and Re:START Mall. Evening is free at leisure – take the Christchurch Gondola ride - Situated on the Port Hills, the Summit Station of the Gondola provides spectacular panoramic views from its elevation at 500 metres above sea level. The Gondola base station is located in the Heathcote Valley, just fifteen minutes by vehicle from the heart of Christchurch city. In the comfort of the four person passenger cabins, take the gentle ride to the summit complex, on the top of the Port Hills. Take in the spectacular panoramic 360º views, or enjoy Punting on the Avon river. Day 7 : Christchurch – Greymouth - Glacier Region
After early breakfast at hotel, check out &transfer to Christchurch railway station for your lifetime trip of scenic Tranz Alpine Train- Climb aboard one of the world‟s most famous train journeys, between Christchurch and Greymouth. Descend through thick stands of native beech forest to your destination, Greymouth – a great base for exploring this unspoiled region with its mighty glaciers, wild rivers and famous Punakaiki pancake rocks.Depart Christchurch at 0815 a.m. arriving Greymouth at 1245 p.m. Arrive at Greymouth and transfer by Seat-in-coach to the Glacier region. Day 8 : Glacier Region
After breakfast at hotel,Franz Josef Glacier area has some of the most spectacular scenery in New Zealand. Just six kilometres from the centre of the village, Franz Josef Glacier descends from the tops of the Southern Alps into rainforest close to sea level. Franz Josef is the name of both the glacier and the nearby village, though the Maori names are different. Within the glacier valley are a number of short and longer walks and guided glacier walks are available. Or you can take a scenic flight. Note that you are not permitted to walk on the ice without a guide.Proceed for a guided glacier walk.To fully experience Glacier Country, you need to immerse yourself in the landscape.
