Day 1 : Imphal & Loktak (Off to Manipur & The Land of Head Hunters)
You are received at The Airport and transferred to your Home Stay in Loktak. Full day sightseeing to Govindajee Temple, Loktak lake(largest freshwater lake in the northeast), INA Memorial(Indian tricolour was first hoisted here by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army), Japanese War Memorial, World War II cemetery. Overnight Imphal.
Day 2 : Imphal-Andro - Imphal
Today after breakfast Visit Andro-The place is famed for its fireplace which is never allowed to get extinguish) 27 km towards east of Imphal is the ancient Scheduled Caste village of Andro, there is one Cultural Complex established by the Mutua Museum. The place is a favourite picnic spot for the visitors these days. Later explore the famed Ima Market- the all women's market and Overnight in Imphal.
Day 3 : Sangai Closing Ceremony
Today you visit the festival sight and enjoy the closing ceremony and soak the ambiance.
Day 4 : Imphal - Kohima (140kms/4 Hrs) Hornbill opening ceremony
Drive to KOHIMA (5 hrs). Enroute pass the Mao village which is the border of Manipur and Nagaland and then proceed to Heritage village- a model village for all the major tribes of Nagaland. On arrival check-in at Homestay in Zakhama. After lunch visit II world war cemetery. Overnight in Zakhama. Nagaland the small hilly northeastern state of India has a turbulent past OR visit the Hornbill village for enjoying the opening ceremony. There had been many armed struggles in the state for various reasons. There are 16 tribes in the state each radically different from each other. So after the prevalence of peace in the state, the Government of Nagaland has been carrying out a cultural festival to promote inter-tribal communications and to showcase the cultural heritage of Nagaland to the world.
Day 5 : Kohima & Khonoma
After breakfast visit the local vegetable and fish market and then proceed to an Angami Naga Village – Khonoma village, 20 km / 1 hr, famous for its valour and fiercely independent mindset. Back to Kohima for lunch. Afternoon visit the Aradura Cathedral. Dinner and overnight stay at Zakhama
Day 6 : Khonoma to Tuophema
After breakfast drive from Khonoma to Kigwema village. After lunch visit nearby Angami village of Jakhama. Proceed to Touphema village, located 41 km from Kohima. Explore the village. Overnight at Touphema Tourist village resort.
Day 7 : Tuophema to Wokha
Morning drive from Tuophema to Wokha town. Wokha district is known as 'the land of plenty' by the state government of Nagaland, due to her rich mineral resources, soil fertility and abounding flora and fauna. Wokha means "headcount" or "census" in Lotha dialect. The district is dominantly inhabited by the Lotha tribe. Some noteworthy hills here are Mount Tiyi and Totsu Cliff. Explore the villages of Wokha in the afternoon. Evening halt at Resthouse/homestay.
Day 8 : Wokha to Mokokchung
Drive from Wokha to Mokokchung town. Mokokchung is the land of the Ao Nagas. Although almost all Aos have converted to Christianity, they still maintain their old customs and traditions, especially the tradition of hospitality that can be seen during Christmas. This is the time when everyone welcomes each other warmly in their homes. Afternoon visit Ungma village. Ungma is a historic village situated 10 km south of Mokokchung town. Ungma is one of the most ancient Ao villages and great tourist interest to view the folklore, customs and traditions of Ao Naga. Ungma is one of the more developed villages in Nagaland. Legends indicate the early Aos settled here first after coming from Chungliyimti before migrating to the rest of Ao areas. An old log drum in the village is worth visiting. There is also a beautiful Park on the outskirts of the village. Halt at Mokokchung. Homestay/hotel Metsuben.
Day 9 : Mokokchung to Mon
Once you will have your breakfast, you are going to begin driving towards Mon. On the way, you are going to visit the village, which are inhabited by the people of Konyak tribes, which were famous as former head hunters. You will be able to spot tattooed tribal people clad in loincloths. On arrival, complete check in at Home Stay.
Day 10 : Mon
Today, you will explore the Longwa village, is one of the biggest village of the district. This village is on the Indo-Myanmar border. Do not forget to visit the legendary twin tree. Overnight in the Home Stay.
Day 11 : Mon to Dimapur
Today after breakfast you proceed for Dimapur. On reaching check in at Hotel .End of Tour.
