• Day 1 : Old Delhi Heritage Walk

  This walk takes you through the narrow lanes of old Delhi with mansions, colourful bazaars, Jain temples & stalls selling street food,mosque and spice market.
  
  Chandni Chowk is the main street of the old city of Delhi (Shahjahanabad). Chandni Chowk, literally means moonlight square and derives its name from the fact that originally, a canal ran down the centre of the street with pools at major intersections which would reflect moonlight. Today, the stream is gone and Chandni Chowk is an extremely busy road. There are shops, schools, residences, places of worship, old and new along the road.
  Cover jain temple , Hindu temple(gauri shanker) visit Jama masji, One of the largest mosques in Asia, the Jama Masjid offers an excellent view of the entire old city.
  gurudwar shishganj (sikh temple), walk to spice market (khari baoli)
  
  Time : early mornings are the best if you wish to avoid the noise and crowd. However, if you are coming to see the noise and the crowd, anytime in the day
  
  Meeting point : Sri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir, opposite Red Fort
  Distance : approx. 1.5 kms
  Duration : about 2 hours
  Time : Best seen early morning between 8.00 a. to 10.00 am. Gets extremely crowded after that
  Who can come : All are welcome. Wheelchairs are impossible to negotiate in the day.
  What to wear and carry :
  • Walking shoes
  • Recommended that you carry some covering for your head, esp. useful when visiting religious sites. Avoid wearing shorts.
  Who can come : All who can brave the climb up to the steps of Jama Masjid & its minaret and walk through the narrow lanes of the old city and can tolerate the srong smell of spices .

  • Metro: get down at ‘Lal quila ’ Metro station and take a walk to the digmaber jain temple.
