• Day 1 : Gulmarg

  Gulmarg, the "meadow of flowers," is India's ideal snow skiing location. With excellent ski lifts, a gondola that takes you up to 14,000 feet for your skiing runs, a decent number of hotels, and other amenities that you would need for your skiing vacation, Gulmarg is a great place to go skiing. Gulmarg has transformed from being a summer retreat for the British a century ago to being a popular ski resort for tourists from all over the globe. Snow conditions permitting, the ski season begins immediately after Christmas and lasts until the end of March. This is the time of year when the quiet village is transformed into a county fair of skiers from worldwide, including Western countries. Don't be intimidated by a large number of skilled skiers. Gulmarg is the perfect location for beginners to ski or snowboard because of the large number of professional ski instructors and guides available and two ski lifts for beginners and intermediate skiers. There are many individuals from all across India and locals who are taking weekend excursions to learn about snow sports with enthusiasm. You will be surprised to witness people ranging in age from 8 to 88 trying their all to ride the slopes! The infinite slopes and excellent snow conditions in the ski town are more than enough incentives to visit for a few days of skiing. The ideal time to ski at Gulmarg is from the first week of January to around the middle of March.
