Day 1 : DELHI - MANALI
We Receive You At the International Airport At Delhi and Drive You to Manali (580 Kilometers Taking 12/13 Hrs)
Day 2 : Arrive Manali (1890 M) Sightseeing in Manali
Our First Day in Manali Would Be Visiting the Local Sites such as the Hadimba Temple, Built in 1550 Ad Near Old Manali Village. Manu Rishi Temple is Where the Sage Manu, Author of Manu Samriti, the Ancient Compilation of Laws is Said to have Lived and Written Here. Manali also Boasts a Tibetan Monastery and the Small Town of Vashisht, Renowned for Its Hot Water Sulphur Spring and Temple of Vashist Rishi and Lord Rama. Evening Walk the Mall, Dinner and Overnight At the Hotel.
Day 3 : MANALI - CHHOTA DARA
Drive by jeeps to Chhota Dara (3750 m) over the 3978 meters high Rohtang Pass taking 5 to 6 hours. Crossing the pass, the road descends into the Chandra valley, the beginning of the Lahaul-spiti region - a stark, dry, forbidding yet amazingly beautiful land. The valley commands excellent views of the surrounding mountains, including the 6,420 meters high White Sail massif (Dharamsura). Rest of the day is spent walking around the beautiful Chandra Valley. Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 : DRIVE CHHOTA DARA TO BATAL (3960 M) & TREK TO THE CHANDRATAL LAKE
1 hour's drive along the river Chandra, and heading towards Batal. Batal is a great glacial valley. See other marvelous views of one of the world's biggest glacier Barashigri Glacier, White Sail Peak, Lalan Peak and the CB group peaks along the way. From here start the 3 hours long trek towards the Chandertal Lake 4270 meters. Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 : CHANDRATAL TO LA-DARCHA TAKING FIRST A LITTLE MORE THAN 2 HOURS TREK, 4 HOURS DRIVE AND TREK FOR 3 H
We trek from the Moon Lake (Chandratal) towards our jeeps near the mighty 4550 m high Kunzam and drive into the Spiti Valley. The first village Losar has a passport check post, cross the Hanse and Kiato villages to reach La-Dharcha. Start the trek from here to Dhumla. The trail descends steeply to the narrow Parilungbi Gorge, then it crosses Parilungbi River and climbs up to a green cultivated patch to reach Dhumla. Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 : DHUMLA - THALTAK (4875 M / 8 HOURS TREK)
After continuing the climb by the Parilungbi River for 7 hours, one obtains a spectacular view of Kang Nilda (6303 m) to the South East. To the North-West one can see several peaks standing above Kunzam Pass. The train then descends for more than an hour to reach Thaltak camping ground (4875 m).
Day 7 : THALTAK – JAGTHA CAMPING GROUND (4785 M / 4 HOURS TREK)
This day the trail descends precariously over shifting shelves of sand and debris of moraine; goes down to the Parilungbi Gorge and continues along the river as far as Jagtha camping ground. Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 : JAGTHA - BONGROGEN / BASE OF PARANG LA (5018 M / 6 HOURS TREK)
From Jagtha the path rises steeply and continuously over scree and moraine. At the end of this difficult climb there are two glaciated valleys, one to the north and other to the south. The trail follows the northern moraine and reaches the Bongrogen camping ground.
Day 9 : BONGROJEN / PARANG LA BASE – DAK KARZONG (4940 M) VIA PARANG LA (5578 M / 6 HOURS TREK)
After making its way over scree and a few patches of snow, the trail climbs gradually up to Parangla. The final 4 Kilometers is a steep 2 hours climb to the pass. The top of this pass presents a spectacular viewpoint of the peaks and ranges of Lahaul and Ladakh; and Parang Chu River, whose source is on the southern slopes of Parangla, can be seen below. The descent from the pass is over 4km long heavily crevassed glacier. After the pass the landscape slowly changes to more of broad plains. Camp for dinner and overnight at Dak Karzok.
Day 10 : DAK KARZONG – DATANG YONGMA (4730 M)
Trek on the left bank of the Pare Chu River for 5 hours in an open valley to reach Datang Yongma to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 11 : Early start for Racho Lamo
Early start for Racho Lamo (4500 m / 8 hrs trek), continue along the river, losing and also for some time gaining altitude gradually, after a few hours we arrive at the Norbu Sumdo (4600 m), cross the Pare Chu River and trek towards the Tso Moriri to reach Chumik Shilde (4530 m). There is a good chance to see several Yaks lined up for transporting goods with their carriages – looks like a train in the high altitude deserts. Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 12 : CHUMIC SHILDE TO KIANGDOM (4540 M / 5 HRS TREK)
Trek across the plains to the Southern edge of the oval shaped Tso Moriri Lake (4595 m) at Kiangdom, named after the Kiangs (wild Tibetan Ass) that are found here in big numbers. The Lake breaks into several channels here to create a vast wetland, is a breeding ground for many rare migratory birds and is known as a birders paradise.
Day 13 : TSO MORIRI – KARZOK (4570 M / 7 HRS TREK)
Trek along the lake shore. Lungser Kangri (6666 m) stands tall in the background with awe inspiring views. Finish the trek by early afternoon to avoid the winds which are quite strong in this region. At Karzok, there are only a few houses and an ancient monastery appearing like a mirage among the barren hills, is the only permanent settlement in Rupshu. The Chang-pa tribe roam with their Pashmina goat heards in this windswept region. Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 14 : KARZOK TO SKYURCHU ( 4760 M / 7 HRS TREK)
Continue along the lake shore and set up camp near a small stream for overnight and dinner.
Day 15 : SKYURCHU TO BASE CAMP 1 AT RUGYADO PHU (5720 M / 6 HRS TREK) OF CHAMSER KANGRI (6620 M)
The ascent to the base camp on a barren plateau is not very difficult but long uphill trek. Camp for dinner and overnight by a small spring.
One can witness several small lakes of deep green color surrounded by high mountains. Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 16 : BASE CAMP 1 AT RUGYADO TO ADVANCE CAMP 2 (6160 M / 6 HRS TREK)
One can see several small lakes of deep green color surrounded by high mountains. This area is full of gravel and one has to dig the place to level it to camp for overnight. After a hard days trek, camp early for the next days climb. Dinner and overnight here.
Day 17 : Chamser Kangri and Back (6620 M / 8 Hrs Return Trek)
Before Dawn We Climb Up the Mighty Chamser Kangri with all Its Difficulties and Return to Our Base Camp At Rugyado (5720 M).
Day 18 : Rugyado Base Camp to Karzok (4570 M/ 4 Hrs Trek) An Easy Descend
After Having Done So Much in the Past 2 Weeks, Returning to Karzok After Summit is Done Quite Easily. Camp for Dinner and Overnight At Karzok.
Day 19 : Karzok to Leh (3550 M / 8 Hrs Drive) Jeep Safari Tour
First We Drive to Mahe Bridge and On to Chumathang Following the Indus River to Reach Upshi and Then to Karu, Thikse, Shey and Leh.
Day 20 : A DAY AT LEISURE AT LEH
Walk to the Old Bazar, Polo Ground, Shanti Stupa and Enjoy the Capital Town of Ladakh with Its Specialty Cafes and Bars.
Day 21 : Departure
Morning transfer to the Domestic Airport to board a flight for Delhi. Upon reaching Delhi, we transfer you to the International Airport for onwards flight home.
