Day 1 : Fun Day Out in the City
Morning Itinerary
Tuk-Tuk Tour- Spend the morning exploring Chiang Mai’s most famous city sites on three wheels! As one of Thailand’s most iconic vehicles, the Tuk-Tuk, has become one of the most unique and convenient models of transportation available in Chiang Mai. Let the friendly driver take you to the city’s most impressive temples, around the ancient city walls and moat, and down the quaint Soi’s (alleys) which crisscross throughout the old city. There will even be the opportunity to interact with Buddhist Monks at one of the local temples; have informal discussions through the “Monk Chat” program and gain some unique insight into local Thai culture. An excellent morning of experiencing the best of what the city centre has to offer; lots of fun for kids and adults alike. Stop for lunch at one of the lovely cafes along the way and soak up the buzz of the city.
Afternoon Itinerary
Tuk-Tuk ride to Chiang Mai Zoo- Continue the day with a visit to Chiang Mai Zoo, a beautiful attraction with one of the most fertile evergreen forests in Thailand and a cool climate all year round. The wild life learning center has a variety of animals from all over the world being home to Chinese pandas, Australian koalas, an Indian rhino, South American penguins and more. The complex also has two huge aquarium tunnels, one with ocean fish including sharks and the other one with fresh water fish, including the massive Mekhong Giant catfish. Whether you choose to walk along the paths or relax on an open air tram, there is no doubt you will have an enjoyable and educational afternoon at the Chiang Mai Zoo. You can add a little bit adventure to the afternoon with a short zip line through the forest (additional fee), great fun for everyone.
Day 2 : Outer City Explorations
Morning Itinerary
Start the day by heading to the Monkey Center where you can be entertained by cheeky monkeys riding a bike, playing basketball and picking coconuts. You can even even hold and feed a monkey, an experience the kids will surely be buzzing about afterwards!
Next we transfer to Maesa waterfall nearby – As part of the Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, Mae Sa Waterfall is a magical spot to spend the morning and explore the beautiful outdoors. You can walk along a pristine nature trail to reach ten different tiers of falls, each with their own character.
After discovering this wonderful area, we stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing with the rest of the day’s activities!
Afternoon Itinerary
Elephant Poo Poo Paper Park- A fun few hours at The Elephant Poo Poo Paper Park where you can learn about the steps in making world famous paper products from elephant poo fibers, without getting your hands dirty! You will leave this interactive open-air museum park with a totally new perspective on elephants and their poo.
Relax with a River Cruise along the scenic Ping River which the whole family will enjoy! With a Mae Ping River Cruise, you can see life on the river. You will cruise to a local farmer’s house to enjoy some tasty treats and admire natural beauty of the area. Encounter many local herbs which are often used for Thai medicine and cooking then be served Thai herb refreshments and seasonal fresh fruits. Return to your accommodation and spend the evening at your own leisure. One of the most interesting places to visit is the Night Bazaar. You and the kids can browse through the large variety of Thai souvenirs and practice your bargaining skills with the sellers. This is also a great area to have dinner or a drink, with a great variety of Thai and Western Restaurants.
