The Quintessential Nepal tour is a 10-day adventure that offers travelers an opportunity to explore the many facets of Nepal. The trip includes a mix of cultural experiences, short hikes, breathtaking mountain views, and rich wildlife encounters.

The tour starts with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu, where you can explore the rich cultural heritage of Nepal. Next, you will travel to the sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan National Park for a wildlife experience, where you can spot a variety of exotic animals in their natural habitat.

Afterward, you will drive to Pokhara, known as The Lake City, where you can enjoy hiking in a beautiful mountainous landscape and explore the city's many natural and cultural wonders.

Returning to the Kathmandu valley, the tour continues with a visit to Nagarkot, where you can witness incredible sunset and sunrise views of the Himalayan vista. Finally, the tour ends with visits to the medieval architectural grandeur of Patan and Bhaktapur cities, showcasing Nepal's rich history and cultural heritage.

Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1400m/4594ft

    When you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Kantipur Holidays will be there to greet you and take you to your hotel. Once you have checked in, you can take some time to rest or visit the Kantipur Holidays office.

    Later in the evening, Kantipur Holidays will host a welcome dinner where you can enjoy excellent, authentic Nepalese cuisine and get a taste of the local food culture. This will be a great opportunity to meet your fellow travelers and get to know your tour guide.

  • Day 2 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu

    After breakfast, we will begin our guided tour of four UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. The first stop will be Kathmandu Durbar Square, which was once the palace of the ancient kings who ruled over the Kathmandu Kingdom.

    Next, we will visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus around the world. We will also explore popular Buddhist stupas in Kathmandu, including Swayambhunath, which is located in the heart of the city and is often called the Monkey Temple due to the large number of monkeys in the temple area.

    Finally, we will visit Bouddhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world and a popular Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist destination in Kathmandu. The Boudhnath area is also famous for over 50 Tibetan gompas or monasteries. This tour will be a great opportunity to immerse yourself in Nepal's rich cultural and religious heritage.

  • Day 3 : Drive to Chitwan 415m/1362ft

    Following breakfast, we embark on a drive to Chitwan, which is situated 175 kilometers away from Kathmandu. Along the way, we descend along a winding road that borders the Trishuli River. After arriving at our lodging, we'll receive an overview of the activities we'll be involved in during our stay in Chitwan. Later, we'll take a stroll along the Rapti River to observe the sunset in Chitwan's sub-tropical forests. In the evening, we'll savor dinner while enjoying a brief cultural show that features unique tribal dances from the Chitwan region of Nepal.

    Driving Duration: 4 to 5 hours

  • Day 4 : Explore Chitwan National Park

    At the crack of dawn, we set out on a 4-hour jeep safari that takes us deep into the heart of the Chitwan National Park. After returning, we'll have lunch and pay a visit to the elephant stables, where we'll have the chance to bathe these magnificent creatures. In the afternoon, we'll have the option of either embarking on a jungle drive, followed by a canoe trip down the Rapti River. While on the canoe ride, we'll have the opportunity to see Gharial and Mugger crocodiles up close, as well as freshwater dolphins, otters, and various species of water birds. Alternatively, we may choose to go birding or embark on a nature walk, getting up close to the park's diverse flora and fauna.

  • Day 5 : Drive to Pokhara 822m/2696ft

    Following breakfast, we depart from Chitwan and make our way towards Pokhara, also known as The Lake City due to its abundance of lakes. Initially, the road takes us through the lush subtropical jungles and fertile vegetation of Chitwan. As we move away from Chitwan, the landscape transforms, revealing hills, small communities, and terraced farms. Upon reaching Pokhara, the gorgeous lake city, we're greeted by breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Manaslu (8,156m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), and the five peaks of Annapurna, among others. After checking into our hotel and taking a rest, we may opt to explore the streets of Pokhara and appreciate being in one of Nepal's most beautiful cities.

  • Day 6 : Hike to Sarankot, sunset views 1600m/5249ft

    At daybreak, we set out for Sarangkot, a hill located in the northwest region of Pokhara that offers stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain ranges to the north, as well as the main city to the south. We'll commence our hike from Naudanda and eventually reach Sarangkot, where we'll pause at a local tea house and marvel at the magnificent sunset over the mighty Himalayas. From this vantage point, we'll also have a bird's-eye view of Pokhara city below, as well as the abundant Fewa Lake.

  • Day 7 : Sunrise, sightseeing in Pokhara

    We'll bask in the beautiful sunrise from Sarangkot before returning to Pokhara to explore its numerous landmarks. One such attraction is Davis Falls, a waterfall that cascades directly into a narrow, seemingly bottomless canal. Nearby, we'll also visit the Gupteshwor Cave, which houses a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, a prominent Hindu deity. We'll enjoy a boat ride on Phewa Lake, the largest lake in Pokhara, and make a stop at Bindyabasini Temple, situated in the middle of the lake. Our itinerary also includes a visit to the well-known International Mountain Museum (IMM), which documents and chronicles the development of mountaineering activities in the world, especially the Himalayas. Finally, we'll take a tour of the Tibetan refugee camp, where we can observe how the refugees occupy themselves by producing and trading woolen carpets and other handicraft items.

  • Day 8 : Drive to Kathmandu, sunset views from Nagarkot 2,175m/7,136ft

    Once we finish breakfast, we depart from Pokhara and bid farewell to the stunning northward view of the city. Our drive towards Kathmandu will follow river banks, offering picturesque views of hills and rural Nepalese life. As we approach the city, we will continue our journey towards Nagarkot, a village situated within the Kathmandu Valley, well-known for its breathtaking sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Nagarkot, we will relish the cool breeze at the viewpoint and witness the sun setting amidst the Himalayas.

  • Day 9 : Sunrise from Nagarkot, sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapur

    In the morning, we witness the stunning sunrise amidst the Himalayas before having breakfast. We then drive down to Bhaktapur and eventually to Patan. Bhaktapur is an alluring city that has managed to preserve its traditional lifestyle despite being isolated from Kathmandu's hustle and bustle for centuries. At the city square, we admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, Golden Gate, water spouts, and the 55 Window Palace, which together create a magical outdoor theater ambiance for visitors. Additionally, we savor the authentic delicacies of the locals in Bhaktapur. Afterward, we travel to Patan, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is renowned for its ancient arts and architecture. In the evening, Himalayan Glacier hosts a farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of the Highlights of Nepal tour.

  • Day 10 : Final Departure

    Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! A representative from Kantipur Holidays will take us to the airport approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight.
