Package Overview

Journeying from Delhi to Mumbai, this tour delves into colourful bazaars for rich arts and crafts and vibrant culture of Rajasthan and Gujarat. We see Taj Mahal and Rajasthan’s great cities – Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur as also some lesser-known but equally rewarding sights, plus wildlife sanctuaries in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Exotic Rajasthan, the ‘Land of Princes’ is blessed with awe-inspiring monuments to a fierce warrior past. The magnificent forts of Jodhpur and Jaipur bear testimony to the battles that once raged across this desert land, whilst palaces of Udaipur and Fatehpur Sikri and the world famous Taj Mahal offer a glimpse into a romantic softer side to northern India’s long and eventful history.

Starting out from Delhi we see and appreciate the magnificence of Taj Mahal. We go looking for tigers at Ranthambore National Park before arriving at the city of Jaipur, one of the great centres of Rajasthan that showcases its rich culture and history.
After a two-night stay to soak in all sights and ambience of Jaipur we journey to the Shekhawati region, famous for its unique painted mansions (havelis) showing, with pride, their whitewashed walls adorned with exquisite paintings and frescoes.

The calm serenity of the holy town of Pushkar and its beautiful lake leads on to Jodhpur - dominated by the imposing Merangarh Fort; and Udaipur – adorned with glittering palaces and temples. Our final stop in Rajasthan is the state’s only hill station -
peaceful Mt. Abu with its amazing Jain temples.

Further, we travel to Gujarat’s flat desert of salty clay and mudflats known as the Rann of Kutch, famed for its population of Asiatic wild ass and the colourful tribal people.
We travel to the booming city of Ahmedabad, capital of Gujarat and the country’s textile industry, before enjoying a quintessential Indian experience by taking the overnight train to Mumbai – vibrant metropolis where we spend the
final two nights of this exciting tour.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Delhi

  Arrive in Delhi in the morning and check into the hotel. In the afternoon leave for local sightseeing programme to visit Jama Masjid, Gandhi Memorial, India Gate and the colonial buildings in the New Delhi area. Overnight Hotel
• Day 2 : Agra

  After breakfast in the morning drive to Agra. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. In the afternoon visit Agra Fort that boasts of its grand and colossal size. The evening can be spent wandering through the city. Overnight Hotel

  Rise early in the morning today to visit Taj Mahal at sunrise and return to hotel for breakfast. Check out after breakfast and drive to Ranthambore. En route visit Fatehpur Sikri, the palace built by Mohd. Akbar, the 3rd Mughal king. Overnight Hotel

  Today enjoy two game drives into Ranthambore National Park. One in the early morning and the other late in the afternoon to spot the elusive tiger. Overnight Hotel

  After breakfast drive from Ranthambore to Jaipur, the ‘Pink City’ and the colourful capital of Rajasthan. Evening is free to explore local markets. Overnight Hotel

  In the sightseeing programme of Jaipur visit City Palace, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), Amer Fort and Jantar Mantar (the 18th century observatory). Overnight Hotel

  In the morning drive northward to Nawalgarh in Shekhawati region, famous for its fresco and havelis (mansions). Afternoon is free in the ‘Golden City’ of Rajasthan. Overnight Hotel

  In the local sightseeing programme visit Nawalgarh on bicycles to see huge havelis known world over for their colourful paintings and designs. Afternoon is free to explore the town further. Overnight Hotel
• Day 9 : Pushkar

  After breakfast drive from Nawalgarh to Pushkar, the holy city of Rajasthan. Evening is free to explore the town after the sightseeing of Pushkar Lake and the Brahma Temple is over. Overnight Hotel

  In the morning drive to Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur. In the afternoon visit the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, one of the impressive and formidable structures in India. Evening is free. Overnight Hotel

  In the morning drive to Udaipur, the Romantic or the Lake City that this city is popularly known as. En route visit the exotic Jain Temple Complex at Ranakpur, a small town nestled in the dense Aravalli Range of mountains. Overnight Hotel
• Day 12 : Udaipur

  In the sightseeing programme of Udaipur city visit City Palace, Jagdish temple and Sahelion-Ki-Bari, a fountain garden. Afternoon is free to explore the local market famous for articles of artwork. Overnight Hotel

  In the morning drive to Mt Abu, a hill station situated at an average height of 1219 metres above sea level. Sightseeing programme for the afternoon includes visits to Jain temple, Vimal Shahi temple and an evening visit to sunset point. Overnight Hotel

  This morning leave Rajasthan and enter Gujarat and drive first to Zainabad, a small town that derives its name from Nawab Zainkhan who ruled the place about a century ago. En route visit Modhera sun temple. Overnight Hotel

  In the local sightseeing programme of Ahmedabad visit textile museum and Sabarmati Ashram. Afternoon is free. Late evening transfer to the Ahmedabad railway station to catch the overnight train to Mumbai. Overnight Train
