Day 1 : Jaipur
Arrival in the morning, after check in to the Hotel one could start exploring the city;known as the city of victory and also the pink city the highlight of the city tours is the tour to Amerfort, AmerFort is also spelled and pronounced as Amber Fort is located in Amer. 12kms from, located high on a hill. Amer Fort was built by Raja Man Sigh. Amer fort is known for its artistic style of Hindu Elements. With its larg ramparts, series of Gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks the Maota Lake, at its fore front. There are a couple of fancy restaurants in around the fort for Lunch. Evening the brilliant bargain filled bazaars.
Day 2 : Site Seen Jaipur
After a leisurely breakfast, visit the city palace, this impressive palace encompasses a vast complex of courtyards, garden and buildings; Jantar-Mantar an observatory begun by Jai Singh in 1728, Hawa Mahal, Jaipur’s most distinctive landmark, the Hawa Mahal is a remarkable, five–storey, delicately honeycombed, pink sandstone structure. It was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawaj Pratap Singh.
Day 3 : Jaipur/Mandawa
It’s a comfortable 3hrs drive north through the state of Rajasthan to Mandawa. Arrive in this beautiful little town, widely known for its forts and hayelis–magnificent merchant mansions of the 18th and 19th centuries featuring astounding architecture. Check in to your Hotel and rest for a bit before embarking on a tour of Mandawa. Drive around Mandawa and visit the various hayelis decorated with bright murals and well –preserved paintings depicting traditional religious subjects and scenes from life of the inhabitants of Mandawa centuries ago. Can do walking tours of Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli, Goenka Double Haveli, Murmuria Haveli, Jhunjhunwala Haveli, Mohan Lal Saraf Haveli and Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli, each with its own unique traits but also sharing traditional opulence that’s characteristic of 18th–century India.Overnight at a Haveli accommodation.
Day 4 : Mandawa/Bikaner
Bikaner was founded in 1487 by Rao Bika a descendant of Jodha. Jodhpur’s founder and was another important staging post on the great caravan trade routes. When the British centuries later, the state of Bikaner exchanged its finest camels for its freedom. Leave for a sightseeing tour of Bikaner visit Junagarth Fort, This huge enormous Fort was built in the 15th century by one of the most reliance generals of Akbar, Raja Raj Singh and till date, it is unconquered, Lalgarth Palace – built in red sandstone and it was planned by Britisher for Maharaja Ganga Singh. The palace shows a wonderful blend of Rajput, Mughal and European architectural. Camel safaris continue to grow in popularity here, as trayellers chase the silken darkness of adesert dawn without the hassle of Jaisalmer. Many travelers also come to visit the notorious Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, 31km south, where pilgrims worship thousands of holy rats orKolayat 53km south, a Temple town where sadhus swim in rubber tyres’s a camel festival inJanuary.
Day 5 : Bikaner/Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer is a giant sandcastle with a town attached an emblem of honour in a land of rough and tumble. The fort is a living monument to long–lost desert might, a Golden City of dreams that exceeds expectations of the most travel – sick tourist or hardened history buff. Rising high from Trikuta hill, 99 enormous bastions hide hayelis of crumbling beauty and former Raj retainers,who now raffishly run guesthouses or flog bedazzling mirrorwork and embroidery. Like a Hansel and Gretel wonderland, the enclosed palace is carved from the same near- edible golden sandstone. Start your tours with exploring Jaisalmer fort. Jaisalmer Fort is a living fort about 30% of the old city’s population resides within its walls. As a palace and various Temples, its carless streets are packed with houses, Handicraft shops and beauty parlours and honeycombed with narrow, winding lanes paved in stone. Patwa Ki Haveli, Most magnificent of all the havelis its stonework like honey coloured craggy lace, Patwa Ki Haveli towers over a narrow lane. It was built between 1800 and 1860 by five Jain brothers who were brocade and Jewwellery Merchants. It’s most impressive from the outside, but the fort view from the roof is superb and the interior richly evokes 19th century life. Salim Singh Ki Haveli – This private haveli has an amazing, distinctive shape the top storey mushrooms out into a mass of carving with graceful arched balconies surmounted by pale blue cupolas. It was built about 300 – 400 years ago; part of it is still occupied. Salim Singh was a fearsome prime minister when Jaisalmer was the capital of a pricey state.
Day 6 : Jaisalmer/Sam
There is no point coming to the Thar Desert if you don’t go for the Desert Safari. That is why Sam sand dunes are becoming the major attraction in Jaisalmer. This is the closest place from where you can lose yourself in the Great Thar Desert. Sam has a truly magnificent stretch of sweeping dunes, with sparse or no vegetation. Enjoy the romance of solitude as your camel takes you deep in the hearts of the Thar Desert. Put yourself in the camp and experience the sun setting behind the horizon. Desert safari or dune bashing on 4*4 vehicles is also getting quite popular in the area. Enjoy the bonfire with the fellow tourists in the night with the rustic and earthy music and dance of Rajasthan.
Day 7 : Jaisalmer/Jodhpur
One of the most scenic drives, through the sand dunes, will get you to Jodhpur. Jodhpur was founded in 1458 by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rajput clan known as the Rathores and the city grew out of the profits of opium, sandalwood, dates and copper. Rathore kingdom was once cheerily known as Marwar (the Land of Death). Glorious Meherangarh Fort mushrooms from beneath a huge rocky cliff to dominate the once indomitable Blue City. At dusk you feel a part of a real life movie, as the camera- shy palace peeks over awesome stone walls and citizen’s mill about the immediacy and grandeur of the old city, once a stop on a vital trade route that has more and more travelers raving. Enjoy the evening at one of the Hotels.
Day 8 : Jodhpur
Start your day with Mehrangarth Fort-Still run by the descendants of the Maharaja of Jodhpur, Mehrangarh is captivating. As you approach, the walls soar overheads in a mesmerizing demonstration of the skills of the builders. After Lunch visit Jaswant Thada. This milky white marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II is an array of whimsical domes. It’s a welcome, peaceful spot after the hubbub of the city and the view across to th fort is superb. The cenotaph, built in 1899, was followed by the royal crematorium and three other cenotaphs that stand nearby. Evening free for local shopping.
Day 9 : Departure
Early in the morning Departure to Home by Train, Flight, Bus.
