According to Popular Legends, Queen Padmini of Kumaon Was So Enthralled By the Scenic Beauty of Ranikhet that She Persuaded Her Husband, King Sukherdev to Build a Palace for Her. and this is Where Ranikhet, Meaning ‘queen’s Meadow’ Got Its Name From. However, There are No Historical Evidence Present to Justify the Truth of These Legends. Ranikhet, Originally, Was Under the Nepalese Rule But Was Won Over By the Kumaon People Under the Able Leadership of General Kashi Nath Adhikari. this Small Hill Station Was Rediscovered By the British in 1869 When They Procured Land from Neighbouring Villages and Established the Headquarters of the Kumaon Regiment Here. Ranikhet Was Used By the British as a Summer Retreat in Order to Escape from the Discomfort of Hot and Sultry Indian Summers. the British Were So Captivated By Its Spectacular Beauty of the Place that They Even Proposed to Make Ranikhet the Summer Headquarters of Government of India, Instead of Shimla.

  Pick up from Delhi. And Head to Ranikhet i.e. Overnight Journey.

• Day 2 : Explore Ranikhet

  Reach Ranikhet. Check in the Hotel. Later, Visit (hairakhan Temple / Ranikhet Golf Ground / Mankameshwar Temple, Krc Museum, Kalika Temple). in the Evening Back to Hotel Take Dinner and Overnight Stay.
