Bhutan is now open to the rest of the world, yet only a few privileged ones can see this land, which is full of wonders, from the revered Taktsang Monastery perched on a cliff to the astonishing ancient city of Punakha, the city of a massive Dzong.

This special journey includes a visit to many temples that glint in the sun, a look at the Bhutanese Himalayas, a journey into Bhutanese culture, and its markets full of ornately dressed hill tribes. Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Explore the Valleys of Thimphu, Punakha and Par

  Explore Forested mountains dotted with monasteries and temples on route to Thimphu. A gentle walk through the city with afternoon visits to the Dzongs and chortens offers a window into the ancient culture of Bhutan.
• Day 2 : Thimphu Valley

  Home to the seats of Bhutan's Royal Government. Morning hike to Cheri Goemba/Tango Buddhist university. Later visit Painting school, Farmers market and the Buddha statue at Kuensel Phodrang.
• Day 3 : Punakha Valley

  Arrive at Dochu la mountain pass en route to Punakha valley. Also visit the village of Talo.
• Day 4 : Punakha Valley

  Hike alongside the river mo chhu through rice paddies to a chorten built by the Queen mother. Also visit punakha Dzong and the 15th century Chimi Fertility Temple.
• Day 5 : Paro

  Wind through the wang and paro river valleys to the hotel. Explore nearby ruins as well as some of the valley's oldest and holiest religious monuments followed by an evening walk to the paro town.
• Day 6 : Paro

  Discover artifacts dating back to 4000 BCE at the National Museum. Visits to kichu and Dungtsi temple offer cultural discovery.
• Day 7 : Departure

  A morning hike ascends to Tiger's Nest-One of Bhutan's most revered ancient sites. Experience astonishing views from the monastery, perched on a cliff 900 meters above the valley floor. Depart from Paro Airport the next morning.
