Aqaba is divided into three main areas, The North Beach Area, where most of the hotels are located, the Middle Beach Area and the South Beach Area. There are two main public beach areas. One is located at the south beach in the Aqaba Marine Park, a 12 km drive from the town centre. This beach provides visitors with umbrellas, seating, toilets and showers.The other public beach is in the middle beach section in the Al-Hafayer area.

The Dead Sea is a comfortable day trip from Aqaba, where you can float in the lowest and most buoyant body of water on earth and visit its world / class spas. Complete your visit to the Dead Sea at Bethany beyond the Jordan, which is now accepted as the site of Baptism of Jesus Christ. Bethany beyond the Jordan is rich in Byzantine archeology, including: baptismal pools & churches and the Rchotorius Monastery with its mosaic floor. It is possible to arrange baptism at the site.
