Day 1 : Arrive Delhi
Traditional welcome on arrival Go Heritage India Journeys will assist you at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 2 : Delhi
After breakfast, guided tour of historic city of Delhi. The city where one can experience the influence of the many rulers who ruled this region, a city built and destroyed and re-built over seven times. The guided tour takes to the monuments that depict the different eras. The tour includes the magnificent Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, Asia's largest mosque, Rajghat - the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi - the "Father of the Nation". Afternoon tour of New Delhi to include Humanyun Tomb, Birla Mandir, Bahai Temple, Qutab Minar, India Gate, President House and drive through Connaught Place. Evening, see Son-et-Lumerie at Red Fort (optional). Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 : Delhi - Sawai Madhopur (by train)
After breakfast, day free to enjoy the sights of Delhi or wander in the foot market 'bazaar' untill noon. Transfer to railway station to baord express train (chair car seating) at 1320 hrs to arrive in Sawai Madhopur Railway Station at 1800 hrs. Met on arrival by Travel Pals India executive and transferred to your jungle resort for overnight stay in Ranthambore National Park.
Day 4 : Ranthambore National Park
Morning & afternoon safari in the Ranthambore National Park.
You will see abundant spotted deers, Sambar deer, blue antelope (nilgai), Chinkara Antelope (or Indian Gazelle), monkeys, langoors, wild boars, variety of bird species such as Flocks of Peafowl, while on the lakes Cotton Pygmy Geese and both Bronze-winged and Pheasant-tailed Jacanas are common.
The surrounding woodland and grasslands hold such species as Black-rumped Flameback Woodpecker, Tickell's Blue Flycatcher, Rufous-tailed Finch Lark (an Indian endemic), Painted Spurfowl, Jungle Bush Quail, Small Minivet and Stork-billed Kingfisher. There's a possibility of seeing up to five species of owl, including Brown Fish Owl, Dusky Eagle Owl and Collared Scops Owl. Also visit the spectacular ruins of Ranthambhore Fort.
Day 5 : Ranthambore - Bharatpur (220 kms / 4 hrs)
Breakfast at the resort. Today, you will be driven north-east heading on the State Highway 1 to Bharatpur. Stop enroute in a beautiful village of Karauli to enjoy a scrumptous lunch at the heritage palace before arriving Bharatpur to stay overnight in a heritage palace.
Bharatpur, a royal kingdom where the Jats, rather than the Rajputs, ruled. Bharatpur's Jat history is not too old, with Suraj Mal establishing a firm stronghold in a region contested by both the Rajputs and the Mughals.
Optional visit to the Bharatpur Fort (Iron Fort) of Maharaja Suraj Mal, known to be one of the most invincible forts in the state of Rajasthan. Suraj Mal's exploits are legendary, and the fort, Lohargarh, or Iron Fort, has a history that recounts it with pride. The only fort in the state to have bastions of mud, these proved meritorious because they simply swallowed up the cannon shells, not allowing them to impact. Overnight in heritage palace.
Day 6 : Bharatpur - Jhansi - Orchha (by train)
Early morning visit the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (Keoladeo Ghana National Park).
This park is one of the finest bird sanctuary in the world was developed by a royal edict when dykes were created so that water could be canalized for the hunting preserve as the maharaja of Bharatpur wished to create. These days, thankfully, only shooting by cameras is permitted in this sanctuary with over three hundred species of birds, many of them migrant species that come from parts as distant as Siberia and China.
Early evening, transfer to Agra Cantonment railway station to catch express train to Jhansi (1430/1722 hrs). On arrival in Jhansi, transfr to Orchha to accommodate in a charming small heritage hotel for overnight.
Optional visit to Fatepur Sikri; a World Heritage Site - this world famous complex of monuments and temples built in a uniform architectural style and further Agra city to visit the Agra Fort and the charming white wonder marble monument of love - Taj Mahal built in by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal while Agra Fort is built in red sandstone; a mixture of the Islamic and Hindu styles of architecture.
Day 7 : Orrcha - Khajuraho (170 kms / 3 hrs)
After breakfast your guide will take you for a tour of Orchha town visiting the Jehangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, Chaturbhuj Temple, Laxminarayan Temple and Chhatris (Cenotaphs). Afternoon driven to Khajuraho. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8 : Khajuraho- Bandhavgarh (237 kms / 5 hrs)
After breakfast guided tour of Chandela dynasty temples famous for their spectacular sculptures and carvings of Kama Sutra - the art of making love. Visit the Northern, Eastern and Southern group of temples.
Afternoon, drive to Bandhavgarh National Park. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is the highest known in India. This is also known as the 'white tiger country'. These have been found in the old state of Rewa for many years. On arrival check in resort.
Day 9 : Bandhavgarh
Take an early morning jungle safari. After breakfast day for leisure until the evening safari to get a chance to view and enjoy more than 22 species of mammals and 250 species of birds. Overnight at resort.
Day 10 : Bandhavgarh - Kanha (260 kms / 6 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Kanha. The lush sal (Shorea robusta) and bamboo (Dendrocalamus strictus) forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel "Jungle Book. Kanha stretches over an area of 940 KM2 in the two districts Mandla and Balaghat. Together with a surrounding buffer zone of 1,009 KM2 and the neighboring 110 KM2 Phen Sanctuary it forms the Kanha Tiger Reserve. The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog.
On arrival, check in jungle resort. Evening visit the Bamni Dadar, near the National Park. This place is also known as the sunset point and the Park view is at it scenic best from this point. The grazing sambhar, barking deer, gaurs, and other animals make the ambience magical. Overnight at the resort.
Day 11 : Kanha National Park
Morning & Afternoon safari in Kanha National Park.
Day 12 : Kanha - Nagpur - Mysore
Early breakfast and depart for Nagpur Airport (250 KM2s/6 hrs) to board flight for Bangalore. On arrival met by Travel Pals India executive and transferred to Mysore (150 KM2s/2 hrs). Until 1947, Mysore was the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore was ruled by the Wodeyar dynasty, except for a 40-year period in the 18th century when Haidar Ali and Tipu Sultan were the de facto rulers. The Wodeyars were patrons of art and culture and have contributed significantly to the cultural growth of the city, which has led to Mysore earning the sobriquet Cultural capital of Karnataka. Overnight in a heritage hotel.
Day 13 : Mysore - Bandipur (90 KM2s/1.5 hrs)
This morning enjoy a guided tour of Mysore city visiting the The Maharaja's Palace (Mysore Palace) is one of the important sights in Mysore. Built in Indo-Saracenic style with domes, turrets, arches and colonnades,the Palace is a treasure house of exquisite carvings and works of art from all over the world. Intricately carved doors open on to luxuriously furnished rooms. The majestic Durbar Hall has an ornate ceiling and many sculpted pillars. The magnificent jewel studded golden throne of the Wodeyars is displayed here during the Dasera festival. Illuminated on Sundays and public holidays ,the palace presents a spectacle of breathtaking beauty.
Srirangapattana, 19 KM2s from Mysore city is of great religious, cultural and historic importance. The town takes its name from the celebrated Ranganathaswamy temple which dominates the town, making Srirangapattana one of the most important Vaishnavite centers of pilgrimage in south India. Srirangapattana remained part of the Kingdom of Mysore from 1610 to after India's independence in 1947; as the fortress closest to the capital city of Mysore, it was the last bastion and defence of the kingdom in case of invasion. It houses Jumma Masjid (a Mosque) and the Daria Daulat Gardens.
Arrive Bandipur National Park and enjoy the afternoon jungle safari. Overnight in the jungle lodge.
Day 14 : Bandipur National Park
Bandipur National Park is one of India's best known protected areas and is an important Project Tiger reserve. It is located in the Chamarajanagar district of southern Karnataka in South India.
The park stretches over 874 square kilometres (337 sq mi), protecting the wildlife of Karnataka. Together with the adjoining Nagarhole National Park (643 KM22 (248 sq mi)), Mudumalai National Park (320 KM22 (120 sq mi)) and Wynad Wildlife Sanctuary (344 KM22 (133 sq mi)), it forms the largest protected area in Southern India, totaling 2,183 KM22 (843 sq mi). It is notable as the home to around seventy Bengal tigers and over three thousand Indian elephants (in 1997) Bandipur is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Bandipur National Park, is under consideration by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for selection as a World Heritage Site. Enjoy morning and afternoon elephant safari into the park.
Day 15 : Bandipur - Bangalore (225 KM2s/4 hrs)
Enjoy the early morning safari. Return to your lodge for breakfast. Later, transfer to Bangalore.
Depending on your international flight schedule, check-in at the international terminal or stay overnight in Bangalore.
