You will be met at Johannesburg Airport and transferred 1-hour to Pretoria (now called Tshwane).
This city is the administrative capital of South Africa and is renowned for its jacaranda trees that flower from September to November.
Transfer from your hotel to Capital Park Station by 10.30 to board the luxury Rovos Rail Golf Train departing 11.30 towards Sun City.
Relax and enjoy the elegance of luxury 5-star train travel of a bygone age, as you settle in to your wood-panelled coach for 9-days of splendid championship golf combined with a memorable train journey.
Enjoy superb golf and fine cuisine, as you travel in style over 1,500 miles and visit some of South Africa’s finest championship golf courses in magnificent surroundings. Arrive at Rustenberg for overnight.
Dress code on the train during the day is smart casual, with comfortable walking shoes for the off-train excursion. Evenings are generally more formal, with most guests enjoying the opportunity to dress up in cocktail or evening wear including black tie (although collar & tie is acceptable).
Disembark to play 18-holes of golf at the Lost City or Gary Player Country Club at Sun City – home of the Million-Dollar Golf Challenge and a magnificent championship setting.
After play enjoy lunch at the golf club, before re-joining the train and travelling towards Heidelberg.
Non-golfers: Enjoy a morning game drive in Pilanesberg Game Reserve, before joining the golfers for lunch at Sun City.
Golf Dress Code: Shirts with collars & sleeves (must be tucked in); long trousers with short white socks or short trousers with knee-length stockings; knee length ladies skirts or culottes; golf hats or peaks, with peaks worn forward ; golf shoes with soft spikes. No T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, denims, sweatpants, drawstring shorts, shoes without socks or trainers.

Enjoy the splendidly diverse scenery of the Free State and KwaZulu Natal provinces, as we travel towards Estcourt.
Today golfers disembark and travel to Champagne Sports Resort, nestled in the foothills of the imposing Drakensberg Mountains for 18-holes of championship golf.
Afterwards the train continues towards Durban.
Non-golfers: Spioenkop Boer War Battlefield tour with lunch, or enjoy a walk at Champagne Sports Resort.
Golfers disembark today to play 18-holes of championship golf at Durban Country Club/Beachwood, scenically situated along the coast with beautiful Indian Ocean views.
After returning to the train, we journey towards Hluhluwe.
Non-golfers: Durban City tour, followed by lunch with the golfers.
Disembark early this morning for a game drive in the famous Hluhluwe Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s most beautiful game parks and home to all the Big Five – Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard – as well as many other interesting species. It is home to Africa’s largest population of endangered white and black rhino.
Enjoy brunch on the train as we travel towards Mpaka in the kingdom of Swaziland.
Golfers disembark this morning to play championship golf at the Royal Swazi Golf Club, a superb course encircled by the beautiful mountains of this small African kingdom.
Afterwards the train re-enters South Africa and continues towards Malelane.
Non-golfers: Enjoy a morning game drive in Mkhaya Game Reserve and a visit to Ngwenya Glass.
Today golfers disembark to play 18-holes of championship golf at Leopard Creek, South Africa's most exclusive golf course where membership is by invitation only.
This Gary Player-designed course has been built in harmony with its bushveld environment, making it a very special playing experience. But beware, its lakes and small streams are home to both hippo and crocodiles, giving new meaning to the term "water hazard".
After lunch at the golf club, re-join the train as it continues towards Rayton.
Non-golfers: Game drive into the famous Kruger National Park, followed by lunch at a lodge.
After breakfast on the train, we arrive around 10.00 at Capital Park Station in Pretoria.
You will be met at the station and taken on a short city tour of Pretoria, including historic Church Square and the magnificent Union Buildings - the official residence of the President, designed by Sir Herbert Baker.
Time permitting also visit the impressive Voortrekker Monument, before your 30-minute transfer to Johannesburg Airport for your flight home.
NOTE: Arrival in Pretoria can be significantly delayed due to commuter rail traffic, so you must not book your flight before 19.00.
