Saadani National Park
In the centre of the historical cities of Bagamoyo, Pangani and Zanzibar. Saadani Game Reserve is one of the few wildlife sanctuaries bordering the sea. It offers the unique combination of both marine and mainland flora and fauna in a historically and culturally fascinating setting. Animals have been rumored to bathe in the Indian Ocean off the Reserve’s coast, green turtles comes to its beaches to breed, black and white colobus monkey frolic in the canopy of the evergreen Zaraninge Forest.

Generally the park is accessible all year round, but the access roads are sometimes impossible during April and May. The best game viewing is in January-February and from June-August. Charter flights can be arranged from Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. Although its only 60 km north of Bagamoyo you can't get from there by road as there is no crossing over the Wami River instead you have to drive on the inland road from Dar via Chalinze and Msata and turn right at Mandera which is 60 km from the village of Saadani. From the north, Saadani is 35 km south of the ferry at Pangani so we can arrange for the Private transport from Tanga Town to Pangani and then to Sadan.Tips

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : AIRPORT PICKUP

  Pick from airport Tanga/Arusha/Dar es salaam to Tanga town, Dinner and overnight at Tanga beach resort, or Mkonge hotel, Naivera Hotel
• Day 2 : PANGANI AND TONGONI RUINS

  After breakfast depart to Pangani via Tongoni Runs for pre historical recture of shira people who established many Islamic settlement in southeast Africa such as Kilwa and Mafia. Proceed to Pangani for lunch, Pangani historical tour and river cruiser. Dinner and overnight Pangani town.
• Day 3 : MAZIWE ISLAND

  After breakfast leaving Pangani to Maziwe Marine Park with lunch box for and snorkeling until mid-afternoon and then back to Pangani ready for depart to Sadan National Park for evening and overnight at Kijongo Bay Beach Resort
• Day 4 : WAMI RIVER

  Depart from Kijongo early in the morning to Wami River watching Hippos, Crocodile then to Sadan Safari Lodge for breakfast and proceed with drive. Dinner and overnight at Kijongo Bay Beach Resort.
• Day 5 : FISHING OR BIRD WATCHING

  Fishing/Bird watching: Take a walk to the Tides River and Mangroves running just behind the property to cook for local, birdlife or us the quiet time to do some fishing as you sit along the river sand. If you prefer take the boat and some sport fishing in the on the Sea.
• Day 6 : FULL DAY STAY IN HOTEL

  Stay at the resort and leave the hustle and bustle of the daily routine around. Doze off on a quite beach with the only sound of the waves and winds travelling through countries palm tree. Spend hours on the daybed of your private veranda reading you book or catching up on your emails. When you have had enough relaxation, get excited enjoying the fruits of the harvest from the coconuts palms as you sip your freshly made cocotini at Rotunda Lounge.
• Day 7 : AIRPORT DROP

  After breakfast departure to airport or if you have plan to Zanzibar we may arrange for boat from hotel to Zanzibar.
