The SAGA DAWA Festival Tour is one of the most important and cherishable Tibetan Buddhist festivals, held each year on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar, to celebrate Sakyamunis enlightenment. This astounding festival is also known as the Festival for Releasing Living Things, and during this tibet festival, Tibetan people do not eat meat and kill any living things in the fourth month of the Tibetan year in order to concentrate their efforts on worshipping. A legend says on the 15th day of the fourth month of the Tibetan year Sakyamuni was born, became a Buddha and died. On this day each year, the people will dress in their splendid attire and sing and dance and have a picnic or gathering in Lingka.
This exciting trip is for anyone who has dreamed of visiting the land of the Tibetan people and standing within sight of Mt. Kailash. We will organize if for you.
Buddhist, Hindus and Bonpo faithful consider Mt. Kailash as their sacred land. The mountain is known as teh throne of "Shiva", a powerful God in Hindu mythology. Buddhist considers it as Kang Ringpoche, the precious Snow Mountain. Devotee of Jain religion considers the peak as Mount Ashtpada. Rishabanatha, founder of Jain faith, believed that he gained spiritual liberation on the summit of Mt. Kailash. Bon po, pre Buddhist religion in Tibet believes that this is the Nine storey Swastika Mountain that lead to the heaven.
The pilgrims walk and prostate around the mountain path of 55km Kailash Parbat known to them as Meru in ice and stone. There is a strong belief among Hindus and Buddhist that a single walk around the holy mountain would wash away all the sins of a lifetime.
