Day 1 : Glasgow City
Landing in Glasgow or Edinburgh travel to Scotland's largest city in Glasgow where you'll discover a thriving modern Scottish culture. Explore the monuments of George Square, the bustling Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow Cathedral and Kelvingrove Park and Museum not to mention some of Scotland's best shopping.
Day 2 : Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and Oban Distillery
From Glasgow head north in to Scotland's raw natural landscapes along the banks of Loch Lomond through the Trossachs National Park. Possibly stop at Inveraray and Inveraray Castle on route to Oban to visit this charming port home of Mccaigs tower overlooking the docks and the famous Oban Whiskey Distillery.
Day 3 : The Road to the Isles and the Isle of Skye
Travel north through Fort William and the past the towering Ben Nevis before taking the road tot he isles and the ferry crossing to the glorious Isle of Skye. Explore the island's stunning natural beauty from the Cuillin Hills to Kilt Rock and the Trotternish Peninsula. The Clan Donald Centre, Dunvegan Castle and the stunning port town of Portree make for rewarding visits.
Day 4 : Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness and Inverness
Returning to the Scottish mainland via the Skye bridge make your way along the scenic banks of mysterious Loch Ness whilst trying to spot the elusive Loch Ness Monster. Enjoy a stop at Urquhart Castle and the Loch Ness visitor centre on route to Inverness, capital of the Highlands where you can explore the museum, castle and shopping.
Day 5 : Culloden Moor, Cawdor Castle and Fort George
Spend use Inverness as a base to explore a wealth of cultural sites surrounding the city; Culloden Moor offers an insight in to one of Scotland's most infamous battles. Enjoy the contrasting castles of fairytale baronial manor at Cawdor Castle, romantically connected to Macbeth by Shakespeare, and the magnificent example of 18th century military engineering at Fort George.
Day 6 : The Whisky Trail and Aberdeen
Departing Inverness pass East in to Scotland's whisky country renowned for its famous single malt distilleries such as Glenfiddich, Glen Grant, Strathisla and Dallas Dhu or see where the whisky is barrelled at the Speyside Cooperage. Arriving in Aberdeen spend the balance of the day exploring Scotland's third largest city.
Day 7 : Dunottar Castle, St Andrews Cathedral and Golf
From Aberdeen follow the coastline south making your first stop at the ruin at Dunottar Castle spectacularly perched on a cliff top overlooking the north sea. Continue south crossing the Tay bridge in to the Kingdom of Fife to the historic town of St Andrews. Explore the cobbled streets of this charming university town with possible visits to the castle and cathedral ruins the famous "Old Course" and the golfing museum.
Day 8 : The Scottish Capital Edinburgh and Edinburgh Castle
Departing St Andrews make your way to the Scottish Capital city and spend the next three days exploring the city and its surrounds. From the winding alleys of the cobbled old town to wide avenues of the Georgian New Town, visit the Palace of Holyrood House and the Scottish Parliament or some of the national galleries and museums or climb to Arthur's Seat for the best views of the city's skyline. Outside of the city you can discover Craigmillar Castle, the Royal Yacht Britannia or Rosslyn Chapel. Finally visit Edinburgh Castle, the crowning glory of the Scottish Capital City.

Other options include onward travel to Edinburgh, within Scotland or back to London.
