Day 1 : Arrival into Glasgow
Upon arrival into Glasgow/Edinburgh Airport you will be met by your English speaking assistant for your transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day is at your leisure in the beautiful capital city of Edinburgh. Overnight in Edinburgh
Day 2 : Scottish
After a sumptuous full Scottish breakfast at the hotel your English speaking guide will meet you for a fascinating look at this historic and beautiful city. The city’s skyline is dominated by the iconic Castle and the mound upon which it sits and this will be your first stop. See the Scottish Crown Jewels which are just one of the many things to see within it’s might stone walls. Your tour will also take you past the Palace of Holyroodhouse (the Queen’s Edinburgh residence), the Scottish Parliament Building and many beautiful parts of Edinburg’s “New” Georgian town. In the afternoon your guide will take you to the birthplace of golf, St. Andrews where you will have a chance to see the world famous Old Course, place of many Open Tournaments as well as the pretty shops in the town. Overnight in Edinburgh.
Day 3 : Scottish
Another full Scottish breakfast will set you up for another day of adventure. Today you will head north deep into the Scottish Highlands with your private coach. First stop is Pitlochry “The Gateway to the Highlands”, a very pretty Highland town which boast a hydro-electric dam with its own salmon ladder for them to pass! Still north through the rouged mountains until we reach Balmoral Castle, the holiday home of the Queen. An inside visit is included to give and insight to the Royal Family. Then on to a real Highland castle for the overnight stay! Overnight in Kildrummy Castle.
Day 4 : Scottish
Enjoy a full Scottish breakfast and some fresh clear Highland air before setting off with your driver to Dufftown. Here you will tour the Glenfiddich Whisky Distillery to see the distilling process before having a tasting. Then it’s on to the ‘Capital of the Highlands’, Inverness where your local guide will show you all the city has to offer. Following the River Ness you will arrive at the most famous lake in Scotland, Loch Ness. Keep your eye out for the monster! A cruise along the loch is included. Then it’s on to Fort William, nestling under the British Isles tallest mountain, Ben Nevis. Overnight in Fort William.
Day 5 : After breakfast
After breakfast you will carry on through the impressively steep mountain scenery of Glencoe, sight of a very famous massacre! Then on to Loch Lomond for another cruise along the shores of the prettiest lochs in Scotland. Following the Loch and then the River Clyde you will arrive into the mighty city of Glasgow. Overnight in Glasgow.
Day 6 : A bountiful breakfast
A bountiful breakfast will have you looking forward to this morning’s guided sightseeing tour of the city including a visit to the fascinating Burrell Collection. Then it’s time to say farewell to your Highland adventure as you are transferred to the airport by private coach.
