Day 1 : Guwahati - Bhalukpong
Pick up from Guwahati Airport and transfer to Bhalukpong - Located at 56Kms from Tezpur, altitude 213 mts, is the entry point to Arunachal. It is famous for Archaeological ruins of King Bhaluka, an ancient ruler of the region. The Orchid Research Centre at Tipi with 500 species of Orchids is the prides of Bhalukpong.
Day 2 : Bhalukpong - Dirang
After breakfast, transfer to Dirang - Situated at an altitude of 4910 ft above the sea level, Dirang a beautiful hill station comprises of Tribal Mahayana Monapas sharing their traditions and heritage which are similar to Western Bhutan. Dirang is located on a picturesque valley in between Bomdilla and Tawang and due to its lower altitude than Bomdila the weather is much milder & comfortable, a constant wind blows along the river valley making it a very pleasant place to stay. Dirang is a Sub-divisional headquarters in the West Kameng District and well known for its Hot Water Spring and Apple Orchards apart from its mesmerizing natural beauty. En route visit Tenga Valley, Bomdila Monestry, crafts centre, Orchid Sanctuary at Tipi where more than 500 different species of orchid are available. Shangti valley, Yak centre, Fruit garden and Nag Temple. Lunch on the way. Overnight at Dirang.
Day 3 : Dirang - Tawang
After Early Breakfast journey for Tawang - an altitude of 3500mts. It is a land of Monpa Tribe. The name Tawang derives from some bearing on surroundings. But people’s interpretation is that the name Tawang was given by Mera Lama in the 17th Century. It is famous for the oldest seat of Mahayana Buddhism and is around 400 years old. This is the second largest Monastery in Asia and the largest one of its kind in the Country which controls 17 Gompas in the region. The most imposing part of the Monastery is the three storied assembly hall which houses the temple and the 28ft high Golden statue of Buddha. Other tourist attractions are- Craft Centre, PTso Lake and any Gompa Monastery.
Enroute cross Sela Pass, the highest Motorable Road in Eastern Himalayas, at about 14000ft above the Sea level and Yaswant Garh (Indo-China War Memorial). Lunch on the way. Afternoon Check in to hotel. Overnight stay at Tawang.
Day 4 : Tawang
After breakfast you can visit - Tawang Monastery, War memorial, Anni Gumpha, Craft center. Back to hotel. Overnight stay at Tawang.
Day 5 : Tawang - Bomdila
After breakfast, transfer to Bomdila - is a beautiful small town situated at an altitude of 2700mts at a distance of 170km from Tawang. It has a lot of attractions for the tourist with its cool climate, Apple Orchards, Snow-capped, Himalayan Peaks and Buddhist Monasteries. The Buddhist Monastery of Bomdila is the repository of culture and is among primary attractions of the area.
Enroute visit Jung Water fall, Lunch on the way, vist Dirang hot spring after noon arrival at Bomdila. Overnight stay at Bomdila.
Day 6 : Bomdila - Tezpur
After breakfast Proceed to Tezpur- Set among tea gardens, military cantonments and built around several lakes, Tezpur is located on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River in the district of Sonitpur, central Assam. The name Tezpur is derived from the Sanskrit words 'Teza' (meaning blood) and 'Pura' (meaning town or city). Legend has it that the original name of this place was 'Sonitpur' ("sonit" in Sanskrit also means blood!) but when the battle ( HARA - HARI ) between Krishna's army and Lord Shiva, his disciple Banasura's army fought for the rescue of Aniruddha (who was the grandson of Lord Krishna, according to legend) there was so much bloodshed that the whole place was stained in red. This led to the name of the place becoming Tezpur. The Shiva temples in and around Tezpur shows the love and devotions of King Baanasur for Lord Shiva., Visit - Agnigarh, Chitralekha Udyan, Ganesh Mandir. Overnight at Tezpur.
Day 7 : Tezpur - Kaziranga National Park
After breakfast transfer to Kaziranga National Park - Kaziranga- a world heritage site, spread over 858 sq.kms and is located in the floodplains on both sides of the Brahmaputra. The park hosts two-thirds of the world’s Great One-horned rhinoceros. The park is divided into five ranges - Central (entry point at Kohora), Western (entry point at Bagori), Eastern (at Agratoli), Western-most Burha Pahar (at Ghorakati) and Northern. The first four lie on the southern side of the river while the last is on the northern bank. It is also home to nine of 14 primate species found across south india, the purest breed of Asiatic water buffalo and one of the largest herds of Asian Elephants.
After lunch you can go for Jeep Safari in the Central Range. After that you can visit Tea Garden and Coffee Garden. Overnight at Kaziranga.
Day 8 : Kaziranga - Dimapur
Early morning go for Elephant ride (subject to availability) at 5AM. Back to Hotel for Breakfast. After breakfast transfer to Dimapur - the commercial city of Nagaland. Night Stay.
Day 9 : Dimapur - Kohima
After breakfast transfer to Kohima - is the hilly capital of India's north eastern border state of Nagaland which shares its borders with Burma. visit – the World War II Cemetery that lies in a beautiful surrounding - it’s a tribute to the warriors who made supreme sacrifices in the battle of 2nd World War, then you will proceed to the Nagaland Museum, Kisama & Khonoma heritage Village -showcasing the different Naga houses and related articles. Overnight at Kohima.
Day 10 : Kohima - Imphal
After breakfast transfer to Imphal (Capital of Manipur)- After lunch and rest visit local market (Ima Bazar), uniqueness of this market is that all the vendors are women. Overnight at Imphal.
Day 11 : Imphal Excursion
After breakfast excursion to Loktak Lake- the largest freshwater lake, 48 kms. from Imphal city. Later visit Keibul lamjao national park-The Only Floating National Park in the World and famous for Sangai- Brow Antlered deer of Manipur, better known as The Dancing Deer. Lunch at Moirang in a local restaurant. After lunch visit INA (Indian National Army) Museum, where the first INA flag was unfurled on April 14th, 1944 in Indian Soil. After the visit drive back to Imphal and transfer to your hotel for dinner and Night Stay.
Day 12 : Imphal Excursion
After breakfast visit State Orchedium, 14 km from the city. On our way back visit II world War Aerodrome. Later visit World War II Cemetery at Dewlahland and Hatta (for both Britishers and Indian soldiers were buried). After lunch visit Manipur State Museum, Old Polo Ground & BT Park. Later drive back to your hotel, Night stay.
Day 13 : Imphal - Silchar
After breakfast transfer to Silchar. Night Stay.
Day 14 : Silchar - Aizawl
After breakfast transfer to Aizawl - the state Capital of Mizoram is located at an altitude of 4000 feet above sea level. Surrounded on the east by the deep green valley of river Tlawng and protected by beautiful high hills of Durtlang on the north, it is an ideal hill station for those looking for some fresh air and solitude. Evening free to explore the city by your own. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15 : Aizawl Sightseeing
Morning after breakfast full day city tour visiting:
Bara Bazar: It is the most important shopping hub with stalls selling garments, and other commodities. Here the people can be seen in their traditional costumes selling products from farms and homesteads including river crabs with little wicker baskets.
LuangmualHandicarfts Centre: 7 Kms away from Aizaul it takes half an hour to reach by car. The 'Khumbeu' ceremonial bamboo hat is made here using waterproof 'hnahthial' leaves.
Mizoram State Museum: This museum is situated at Mc Donald Hill in the town center. it is having an interesting collection of historical relics, ancient costumes and traditional implements. (Open Monday - Friday from 9:00 A.M to 5 PM. Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM)
Durtlang Hills: These beautiful, craggy hills offer the breathtaking view of Aizawl.
Mini Zoo: Home to species of animals and birds found only in the hills of Mizoram.
Berawtlang Tourist Complex: This is a recreational center situated 7 kms away from Aizawl City. It offers the facilities of Restaurant as well as Tourist Cottages. Overnight at hotel.
Day 16 : Aizawl - Silchar
Morning after breakfast depart for Silchar for stop over. Arrive and check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 17 : Silchar - Agartala
Morning after an early breakfast depart for Agartala- is the Capital of Tripura and shares its boundary with Bangladesh. Once a good hunting ground, it became the Capital of the state during the time of Maharaja Krishna Kishor Manikya (1830-50). It remains since then the seat of the state headquarter. Arrive and check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 18 : Agartala Sightseeing
Morning after breakfast visit:
Ujjayanta Palace: Situated in the heart of the town and covering an area of about half a square mile this place is a two storied mension having a mixed architecture with three domes, the central one being 86 feet high. The construction of this beautiful, well-balanced royal palace was undertaken in 1899 and completed in 1901 at a cost of a little over Rs 10 Lakh or 1 million. The two large tanks on two sides with the approach road in between them and well-laid out gardens around the palace with water courses and fountains patterned on Mughal gardens have added beauty to it. The palace has been acquired by the state Govt. and now house of the Lagislative Assembly, besides few Govt. offices.
Tripura Sundari Temple (Udaipur): Considered to be one of the oldest pilgrimage place in North East India, it was built by Maharaja DhanyaManikya in 1501 AD. The temple was subsequently repaired by Maharaja Rama Manikya in 1681 AD when it was damaged by lightning, and again by RadahKishormanikya in the beginning of the 20th century. The GoddesTripuriSundari is the tutelary deity of the royal family. Temple is also called 'Matabari'
Day 19 : Agartala Sightseeing
After breakfast a day excursion to one of the finest beauty spots of the state, Nirmahal is situated 53 Kms from Agartala. The palace is so called as it is surrounded on all sides by a big lake called RudraSagar. The scenic beauty of the lake attracted Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishormanikya (1927-47) so much that he built a spectacular palace at the center of the lake itself named it as Nirmahal (or palace in water).
Kamalasagar Lake: It is an artificial lake at the border of Bangladesh excavated by Maharaja DhanyaManikya in 15th century. On the bank of the lake, there is a famous temple of Goddess Kali dating back to 16th century. One can go upto the border fencing from the Indian side and have a look on the Bangladesh territory. Overnight at hotel.
Day 20 : Agartala - Silchar
After breakfast transfer to Silchar, Night Stay.
Day 21 : Silchar - Shillong
After breakfast transfer to Shillong (Capital of Meghalaya) - Shillong (1496 m), the capital city has a number of beautiful sites like Shillong peak (10 km from Shillong,), at an altitude of 1965 metre, offers a dazzling view of the idyllic surroundings. Butterfly Museum (closed on Sundays) is another interesting place to visit. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 22 : Shillong - Cherrapunjee - Shillong
After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee, (1300 m) and its surroundings areas are blessed with many breathtaking views of nature in her pristine beauty with cool springs, mind soothing waves of thick green jungle foliage, gurgling mountain streams finding their way through rocks, enthralling milky white waterfalls leaping into deep gorges in a thunderous applause to the record-breaking rainfall that resounds through the valley. During the monsoon months it is a thrill to catch sight of nature in the prime of her beauty when the clouds lift their mantle over her for fleeting moments. Cherrapunjee has the distinction of being the wettest place on Earth, having the highest recorded rainfall, year after year. The Caves of Cherrapunjee- Mawsmai and Mawmluh, are the longest limestone caves in India, formed over 3500 years, a must go destination for cavers and adventurists. Other attractions - Cherrapunjee View Point, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sister Falls and Eco Park Back to Shillong, Overnight at Shillong.
Day 23 : Shillong - Guwahati
After breakfast transfer to Guwahati - Situated on the banks of the mighty river Brahmaputra, at an altitude of 55 meters above sea level, Guwahati is the junction of three important roads, National Highways 31, 37 and 40. It is split into two parts by the river Brahmaputra and North Guwahati. The most famous Kamakhya Temple tucked away in the serenity of the Nilachal hills in Guwahati. This Shakti temple has a cluster of different temples of Devi Kali, Bhairavi, Tara and others and is a pilgrimage destination for people across the country.
After that you can visit - Shankardeva Kalakshetra, Basistha Ashram and Balaji Temple. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 24 : Airport / Railway Station Drop
After breakfast transfer to Guwahati Airport for Departure.
