Shimla and Manali Trip From Delhi: A Ideal Trip Itinerary Guideline for a Better Vacation

Day 1: Traveling to Shimla from Delhi

Take an overnight Volvo bus service to reach Shimla from Delhi. You can also book the toy train ride to experience the scenic landscape route. Check in to your hotel after reaching Shimla and take some rest. The following day, you can indulge in exploring the local Shimla and take a walk to the Lakkar Bazaar, the lively Mall Road, and the stupefying Shimla Ridge.

Day 2: Explore Local Shimla Sightseeing
Go for a relaxing day out to explore the local Shimla destinations including the State Museum, Jakhoo Museum, etc. You can even consider spending your first half of the day at Kufri while devoting the second half to exploring these places.

Day 3: Traveling to Narkanda and Hatu Peak from Shimla
You can either choose to travel from Shimla to Hatu Peak via Narkanda and back to Shimla. or you can prefer to travel to Chail from Shimla through Kufri and then return to base. While the trip might sound a little hectic, the Narkanda, Hatu, and Thanedar peaks are worthy of your effort, and time. Additionally, if you are thinking to visit Manali over Jalori Pass, then choosing Narkanda to stay the night sounds more sensible.

Day 4: Traveling to Manali from Shimla
You have to invest your fourth day in traveling to Manali from Shimla. You can either take the Kalori Pass route to travel to Manali or take the route through Tattapani-Chindi and Rohanda route. You can also choose the standard route through Bilaspur.

Day 5: Spend your Day in Local Manali Sightseeing
There are various places to visit in Shimla Manali. To explore them all, you might make a full-proof itinerary. But to enjoy the local Manali sightseeing, you need not plan much. Simply check off the important tourist destinations like the Vashisht Hot Water Springs, Local Monastery, Mall Road, Manu Temple, Hadimba Temple, etc. You can also rejuvenate your soul by the riverside or plan for adventurous trekking in Old Manali’s woos.

Day 6: A trip to Solang Valley/Rohtang Pass from Manali

To enjoy the maximum snow, visit the Solang Valley Snow Point or Gulaba’s Snow Point en route to Rohtang Pass. You can even reach the Rohtang Pass during the summers. You can even think of spending the night at Solang Valey, owing to how it’s less crowdy than Manali. One primary reason to visit Shimla Manali in summer is you get to experience Rohtang Pass. It remains closed during the winters.
One important factor to keep in mind when traveling to Rohtang Pass is to leave early from Manali to escape the serpentine traffic.

Day 7: Manali-Jagatsukh-Naggar Castle
This is where you can take a trip to Jagathsukh and Naggar Castle from Manali. Of all other places in Himachal Pradesh, Jagatsukh tops the list of best offbeat destinations. On the other hand, Naggar Castle is mostly included in the Shimla Manali tour package from Delhi for couples, given how it is deemed romantic by tourists.

Prefer to stay at Naggar Castle to explore the place completely. Naggar is a place to enjoy if you feel like romancing your partner and experiencing exotic views. While why you are busy exploring Naggar, don’t forget to take a hike to the Krishna Temple sitting atop the hill. Take a visit to the Roerich Museum along with the Art Gallery as well.

Day 8: Heading Back to Delhi

On day 8th, you can leave Naggar Castle in the afternoon and return home. Since the Volvo to Delhi will be somewhere around 5.30om, so you can prefer to spend time at Naggar itself. Consider leaving Naggar after eating your lunch. You can even return to Manali to take a stroll at its Mall Road one last time before taking the bus to Delhi.

Shimla vs. Manali: Which Place Should I Spend More Time?

It is worth spending more time in Manali than in Shimla given how the latter doesn’t have much to offer the former. Also, the presence of the river in Manali makes it worth all the praise and charm. While Shimla might look more appealing to a lot of people, owing to its spellbinding architecture, Manali is closed to tourists because of its nature’s bounty.
