Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world at 8848 m above sea level. This trek follows in the footsteps of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary, and you will pass numerous Sherpa valleys before you reach Everest Base Camp. The trail winds its way through Sagarmatha National Park, home to several 8000-meter peaks tiny airstrip of Lukla is the gateway of the trek to Everest base camp. Pass outstanding Sherpa valleys and the bustling towns of Sherpa people, Namche Bazaar and Khumjung. The trail is dominated by the rhododendron forest and some of the Himalayan fauna can be seen. Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Kathmandu, Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,651m)

    We take an early morning flight to Lukla which is where all Everest treks begin. We meet the rest of our team in Lukla and start trekking from there. We walk on a trail that gradually descends to Cheplung village from where we get a glimpse of Mt. Khumbila, a sacred mountain that has never been climbed. From here, we gradually descend until Phakding. Overnight in Phakding.

  • Day 2 : Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft)

    Our trail passes through a pine forest and we continue our walk on the trail that goes north up the Benkar valley. We cross the Dudh Koshi River and pass Chumoa and Monjo villages before reaching the entrance of the Everest National Park. Then after crossing a suspension bridge, we pass Jorsale village and walk alongside the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. We ascend on a steep trail and reach Namche Bazaar which is probably the biggest town in the Everest region. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 3 : Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,284ft)

    Today we’ll tour Namche Bazaar, which is the primary town of the Everest or Khumbu region and has government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants, and a colorful market. We can hike up to Sagarmatha National Park and enjoy the sunrise over the Himalayas including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde, and so on. If we are interested in a day hike, we can trek to Khumjung village. Today we also visit the Hillary School and a monastery that houses a yeti scalp! Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 4 : Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft)

    The trek to Phunki is an easy walk. From here we ascend towards Tengboche village which houses the very famous Tengboche monastery which is the biggest monastery of the Everest region. It is located within the Sagarmatha National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery is blessed with panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The Tengboche Monastery opens at 3:00 pm, so if we reach there by 3 o’clock we can observe a Buddhist religious ceremony. Overnight in Tengboche

  • Day 5 : Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft)

    Our trail descends and passes through lush forests of birch, conifer, and rhododendron trees. While trekking, we can admire good views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. We walk downhill to Debuche and cross the Imja River to reach Pangboche. We choose the upper Pangboche trail and admire the Himalayan vista and the Pangboche Monastery. We continue our walk to the Imja Valley and Lobuche River before ascending to Dingboche. It is a picturesque village with beautiful barley, potato, and buckwheat field complete with grazing animals dotted along with those fields.

  • Day 6 : Dingboche to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft)

    We ascend to the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. The trail passes through boulder-strewn slopes as we ascend Chupki Lhara which is a ridge that provides spectacular mountain views. The top of the ridge is filled with prayer flags and stones which are memorial shrines for climbers who lost their lives on Mt. Everest. As the trail drops to the Khumbu Glacier moraine, we find ourselves facing several great peaks including Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal. As we are crossing Khumbu Glacier we can also see Mt. Nuptse.Overnight in Lobuche.

  • Day 7 : Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170 m/16,961ft)

    The trek to Everest Base Camp is not very difficult. However, we ascend and descend mostly on a glacier path. There is also a lot of meandering on rough terrains. As we reach the base camp, we enjoy the incredible melt patterns and admire the gently rounded ice towers on the upper part of the Khumbu glacier. The Everest Base Camp is stunningly beautiful. We can enjoy amazing views of Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori mountains from the base camp. After soaking in the beauty, we walk back towards Gorak Shep where we spend the night. Overnight in Gorak Shep.

  • Day 8 : Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) to Pheriche

    We wake up early for the walk up to Kala Patthar. It is dark outside with cold temperatures and most likely chilly winds. We walk on a fairly steep trail at a comfortable pace. As we are climbing up the hill we can see Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse mountains. The view from the summit is outstanding. We can see the world’s tallest mountain Everest along other mighty Himalayan peaks. After spending some time at the summit of Kala Patthar, we walk back to Gorak Shep which is relatively easier than hiking up to Kala Patthar. Trekkers who visit the Everest Base Camp today will have an early breakfast as the hike up to the Everest base camp takes longer than the hike to Kala Patthar. After returning to Gorak Shep, both the groups will have lunch together. After lunch, we descend to Pheriche to spend the night. Overnight in Pheriche.

  • Day 9 : Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft)

    We lose approximately 2,000 feet in elevation today and walk on a trail with a lot of ups and downs. We descend through a hillside filled with rhododendron and juniper trees and cross a bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. We descend rapidly through pine forests where we can easily spot mountains goats, pheasants, and other wild animals and birds common to the area. The path eventually reaches Sansa from where we can enjoy views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nuptse mountains. We walk on winding trails followed by another walk through a forest before reaching Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 10 : Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,860m/9,186ft)

    We begin our trek to Namche Bazaar today on rocky terrain. It is mostly a downhill trek on a trail alongside the Dudh Koshi River. We cross several suspension bridges, pass by several monasteries and villages before reaching Lukla. After reaching Lukla, we spend the rest of the day taking rest as today will be our last day in the mountains. Overnight in Lukla.

  • Day 11 : Fly Lukla to Kathmandu (1400 m)

    We catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu after our long mountain journey. After reaching Kathmandu, we can take a rest or do some souvenir shopping. If we want to explore any other areas of Kathmandu, we may do that today. Our guides can help you with both souvenir shopping or sightseeing. There will be a farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate the successful completion of our journey. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Terms & Conditions

  • Booking Contract
  • You will receive an official confirmation via email or a letter handed over to you by our representative at any of our offices once you confirm the bookings. Please check the letter carefully and report any information that might be incorrect or incomplete. Make sure to use your Passport names for the booking to avoid confusion. Refunds or discounts will not be entertained unless officially agreed upon beforehand.
  • Securing the booking
  • A 100% payment of the total cost of the trip per person should be made to secure the booking. Following conditions must be considered for the deposit:
  • Clients should read and accept the risks involved in the adventure activity chosen.
  • Pre-existing medical conditions should be informed.
  • Clients should have read and accepted all the Booking Conditions and General information pages.
  • The person making the booking should be of minimum 16 years of age and should have full authority to enter into a contract on the basis of these conditions
  • Booking on behalf of others
  • If you are making the booking on behalf of other participants, we will need a warrant that you have obtained their consent. As their representative, you will be our contact person and will hence be responsible for full payments of the travel package and/or additional activities purchased. You will also be responsible for keeping your party informed about the trip.
  • Please make sure the information you provide is complete and accurate. The Tour Operator will not be responsible for issues caused by misinformation.
  • Payments
  • Any due amount with Mount Adventure Holidays must be cleared within 48 hours from the time of booking made. We reserve the right to treat your booking as canceled if the payment is not cleared within a specified period.
  • Booking changes
  • Booking changes are welcomed free of charge up to 60 days ahead of departure. The changes are however subject to the availability of the packages. Under reasonable conditions, in case you are unable to travel, the booking can be transferable to another person. But make sure to do it 60 days ahead of your departure. All costs or charges incurred must be cleared out before making the transfer. For flight inclusive bookings, the airline charges should be paid in accordance with the airline involved.
  • Booking cancellations
  • Cancellation before 45+ days of departure will be done free of charge.
  • Cancellations made between 30-44 days ahead of departure will be subject to a loss of 30% of the total trip price.
  • Cancellations made between 15-29 days ahead of departure will be subject to a loss of 60% of the total trip price.
  • No refunds will be entertained for cancellations made 14 days ahead of departure
  • Medical information
  • Kindly disclose all relevant medical conditions to the Tour Operator that need to be considered while on the trip. For adventure activities, medical forms are to ensure your condition does not impact your ability to travel to remote areas or need constant medical assistance. It is for your own safety and the Tour Operator ensures compliance with the Privacy Policy to keep your information safe.
  • Pregnant women are advised to consult their doctors before taking up a trip. Please take the expert’s advice before applying. If there are any precautions to be taken during the trip, please inform the Tour Operator at the time of booking.
  • Make sure to take or carry any necessary medications before or during the trip, as advised by your doctor.
  • Any potential allergies to food or plants and dietary restrictions among others should be mentioned. In case of misinformation or lack of information, the Tour Operator will not liable.
  • Other requirements
  • If you have any special requirements please share them with the Tour Operator at the time of booking so responsible efforts can be carried out in order to accommodate your special requirements and requests as long as the locations and resources allow.
  • Age requirements
  • Anyone under the age of 16 will be considered a minor and should always be accompanied by an adult. One adult may accompany up to two minors. The minimum age for traveling for minors is 12 years.
  • Booking of minors is subject to review on the part of the Tour Operator. If consent on part of a parent or a guardian is required, then it should be provided as per the rules and regulations. The adult associated with the minor is fully responsible for the behavior, wellbeing, and supervision of the activities of the minor. The tour operator does not provide care services for minors.
  • Insurance requirements
  • Clients must process travel insurance with medical, evacuation, and repatriation coverage of about 200,000 US dollars. The insurance must cover injury and emergency medical needs and rescue operations for a trek that goes above 4000m. The Tour Operator will verify if you have sufficient insurance in place. Clients are also strongly recommended to extend the coverage to include curtailment, cancellation, delay, inconvenience, injury, and delay while traveling.
  • Insurance coverage is not included in the cost of any adventure activity and must be obtained separately.
  • Change of price & taxes
  • The published price of the Tour and services offered by the Tour Operator is subject to change anytime within 30 days before departure. The Tour operator reserves the right to impose extra service charges from the one mentioned in the booking details. If the increase in price is greater than 10% of the original price you can:
  • Choose to cancel the applicable booking without any penalty.
  • Accept the change of price.
  • Possible reduced pricing can be available on certain products or bookings. Bookings, where payment of the deposit has already been obtained, are not entitled to reduce pricing.
  • Airfare
  • Tour prices do not include the international and other airfares unless explicitly mentioned in the descriptions of the concerned tour. The Tour Operators act only as a sales agent in the air carrier.
  • Trip participation and client responsibility
  • You agree to accept the decisions made by the Tour Operator and you agree that all decisions made are on the part of your health, level of fitness, and conduct. Tour operators will bear no costs incurred as a result of the exclusion and no refund shall be provided for unused services. Please make sure to carry all appropriate documents along with you when taking part in the tour. It is mandatory that you carry a valid passport, all travel documents required by the relevant governmental authorities, visas, permits, certificates, and insurance policies. You have the full responsibility of obtaining these documents and the cost incurred as a result of the loss of these documents.
