Day 1 : Kolkata (Arrival)
Arrive Kolkata Airport by schedule International Flight and transfer to Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 2 : Kolkata
Breakfast at the hotel. Later visit Victoria Memorial - Calcutta Victoria memorial hall is a fabulous museum that was established in the year 1921. Victoria Memorial of Kolkata, India is a fantastic place that will take you into the world of past history, where you can view the photos and effigies of prominent personalities, who made an incredible contribution in the glory of India. Howrah Bridge, located over the Hoogli River in West Bengal, India, is said to be the busiest bridge of the world. It got its name owing to the fact that it connects the city of Howrah to Calcutta. Hawrah Bridge in Kolkata, India, also known by the name 'Rabindra Setu', was set up in 1874. It stands on two 270 feet high pillars. Calcutta Howrah Bridge is a cantilever truss bridge that was constructed without using any nuts and bolts. Though, earlier it had a tram route, but presently, it is serving mainly as a Road Bridge. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 : Kolkata – Bagdogra - Darjeeling
Breakfast at the hotel. Free till departure. Transfer to the airport to board the scheduled flight (9W-708/ 1035 - 1140 Hrs ) for Bagdogra. On arrival at Bagdogra airport, proceed to Darjeeling. Darjeeling is one of the oldest hill stations in India, and has plenty of options, both for those seeking a lazy getaway from the hot plains, as well as nature enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies. Entering Darjeeling is like travelling back in time to the days of the British Raj, a vertical Victorian London - like town populated with oriental faces. Church spires and brick chimneys dominate the skyline. On arrival check in to the hotel. Rest of the time free at the leisure. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4 : Darjeeling
Early morning proceed to Tiger Hill. Tiger Hill: Situated at an altitude of 2,590m (8,482 ft.) and 13-km from the town, this spot has earned international fame for the magnificent view of the sunrise over "Kanchenjunga" and the great Eastern Himalayan Mountains. Even Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, is visible from here. On the return visit – Dhoom Gompa, Darjeeling: About 8 kms from Darjeeling is the Dhoom Gompa. Here a very beautiful statue of the Maitrayie Buddha is established. The Monastery has also preserved some of the rare handwritten Buddhist manuscripts. After breakfast Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Zoological Park ( Closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Centre ( Closed on Sunday). Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5 : Darjeeling
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast enjoy the Joy Ride on the World Heritage Toy Train from Darjeeling to Ghoom & Back. Darjeeling Toy Train or Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is a narrow gauge route between Siliguri and Darjeeling in West Bengal state of India, run by the Indian Railways. The entire Darjeeling Himalayan Railway has been declared as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1999. The trains are crucial for Darjeeling tourism and are also one of the highlights of tourism in India. The unique feature of the trains is that they are still hauled by steam locomotives, although a diesel engine has been included in recent times for mail delivery. Afternoon visit the tea Estates. According to records, the first commercial tea gardens planted out by the British tea interest were Tukvar, Steinthal and Aloobari tea estates. This was in 1852 and this entire plantation used seeds that were raised in the government nurseries. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6 : Darjeeling – Gangtok
Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Gangtok. Wreathed in clouds, Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim is located on a ridge at a height of 5500 feet. With a spectacular view of the Khangchendzonga, the town provides the perfect base for travel through the state. Once an important transit point for traders traveling between Tibet and India, it is today a busy administrative and business centre and presents an interesting mix of cultures and communities. Gangtok is a cosmopolitan town which offers the tourist all possible amenities. Hotels are available in a range of prices along with a variety of eateries serving cuisine for all tastes. Shopping complexes, cyber cafes, night clubs and pool parlours abound for those so inclined. On arrival check in to the hotel. Rest of the time free at the leisure. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7 : Gangtok
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day sightseeing of Gangtok including Rumtek Monastery - Rumtek, also called the Dharmachakra Centre, is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery located in the Indian state of Sikkim near the capital Gangtok. It is a focal point for the sectarian tensions that characterize the Karmapa Controversy., Flower Nursries and Dro Dul Chorten - Dro-dul Chorten is a stupa in Gangtok in the Indian state of Sikkim. The stupa was built by Trulshik Rinpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism in 1945 and Enchey Monastery - The Enchey Monastery was established in 1909 above Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim in the Northeastern Indian state. It belongs to the Nyingma order of Vajrayana Buddhism, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday) & cottage Industry (Closed on Sunday). Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 8 : Gangtok
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Phoodong Monastery. This monastery is in North Sikkim 28 kms. from Gangtok. The original monastery has been rebuilt and is today one of the most beautiful monasteries in Sikkim. It possesses the old mural paintings and has around 260 monks. Like the Ralong and Rumtek the main annual Puja is performed on the 28th & 29th days of the tenth month of the Tibetan Calender when the religious dances are performed. Phodong Monastery is one amongst the six most important Buddhist monasteries in Sikkim, India. Perched on an altitude of 4500 ft, Phodong Monastery belongs to the Kargyupa sect (Karmapa). Perhaps, this is regarded as the first monastery related to the Kagyupa sect to be established in Sikkim. The Monastery is to be found a kilometer ahead of Phodong on a hill. Phodong Monastery is regarded as the most beautiful monastery of Sikkim. It houses around 260 monks and is known for some old mural paintings. Many people come here to visit the monastery duringfestivals.The main annual worship is performed on the 28th and 29th day of the tenth month of the Tibetan calendar two days before Losoong when the religious Chaams or dances are also demonstrated. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 9 : Gangtok – Bagdogra – Kolkata - Out
Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Bagdogra airport to bard the scheduled flight at ( 9W-7082 at 1210 Hrs) for Kolkata. On arrival Kolkata at 1310 Hrs. board the connecting flight for onward destination.
